Hi Jon no love the pod cast I am a valley boy and 70, 80 , fab times at ninan Park and the away trips I have followed city since I was nine years of age and now i am 66 and my three sons also follow city forever
Jonathan, there's something about these podcasts that stirs memories of the 70's for me. Do me a favour and indulge me with mentioning a few of my favourites - Cyril Evans coaches from Abertridwr run by Albie and the Hart brothers, Micky Jones, Guto, Dai Chopper (Horse), the Caerphilly mob (you know who you are - most of us went on to play parks soccer on Saturday afternoons & Sunday mornings. Bristol City (a) 1974 (league cup) & 1975 (3- 2 defeat but massive crew by the corner flag by their end). Millwall (a) 5 -1 defeat and where you had to live on your wits. Millwall (a) around 1976/77 3 -1 (win) but carnage before, during and after. Great days, great memories and great lads. PS "Metal Head Matty" is my boy - I've used this just to comment!!
Loved the reply...tbh your lot where at it before my time..got massive respect for alll the valley boys Caerphilly up to merthyr....huge part of Cardiff.....all the best lads..CCFC
Went to the Millwall game in january 1975, was still in school at the time but that day still lives fresh in the memory, from the moment a handful of Milllwall attacked us after just getting off the bus, scariest place i've ever been to.
Earl 2000s onwards west brom vs Cardiff was lively. Big turnouts from both mobs at each others grounds. A few friendships made along the way since. A few Cardiff lads guests at the Albion for certain games such as against wolves.
Tommy, whatever happened to Chrissy Abbott from Barry? Any Barry boys remember that Millwall away game in the mid 70's. There was a girl on that coach scrapping with the F Troop boys. I was looking out for Harry the Dog but he must have been in the Cold Blow Lane End (ha ha). I seem to recall a fella called FIG too - and Timmy (Tragic) Johnson. Yoda's old man!!
PS Frankie's mother worked for the Inland Revenue in Llanishen. Now HMRC of course. Chelsea away has come back in my head when we lost 2 - 1 I think in 1976 (may have been 77), but gained respect and Man Utd home in 1974, which was just a mad day out.
Cardiff City is a completely different club now in comparison to when these stories are from I can take my kids to the games now .However back in the 80s and 90s there were quite a few games where you wouldn't have done that . Things move on.
I said before i like johnathan and aniss, both are top lads, and i respect their honesty .I have lot of respect for cardiff met them a few times home and away through the years .I definitely rate them in the all time top 5 Respect .Bwfc
We’re you boys at Luton in 99 season I think it was..few luton lads behind me burnt a welsh flag and Cardiff were going mental trying to get on pitch..Remember in alley after game too it going off..one of you lot spat in my face and called me an English wanker 😂 I was only 16 and in wrong place at wrong time just trying to get home.Fiarplay tho good mob def one of britains finest on their day
Good to see a bit of back and forth here as there's way too many nuggets hiding behind fake names on UA-cam 😂 not just saying it because I'm a cardiff fan but when have you ever heard of the Jack's being top boys when it comes to football violence cardiff rated by all says it all in my eyes
Love this podcast. No bullshit. Came to Ninian for fa cup game in 78 with ipswich. At 15 I was shit scared lol. Full of passionate supporters who didn't give a fuck about English clubs😂😂 nice to get honest replies rather than some of the bullshit you hear from other top lads
Again few years later got there late again from Newport parked opposite a sheep/ goats field? Cardiff waiting again after kick off again cattle circling gates so as they came in they got hammered one ended up on deck with face landed in a cow pat (big shite dump )
They turned up at the pub in Cardiff and one of their guys knocked out two of Cardiff's well known boys. They then left when they heard the police sirens
