Started watching Luke in 2017 to learn vim. This is normal behavior for him. He will randomly stop making videos for a year or so and then come back and make a whole bunch of videos in a spurt. He does this on purpose. Luke does not want you to mindlessly consume his content. Now go learn a trade or start gardening or start a business or go to church or something. If you got back and look at the dates of videos from the "golden age" you'll see that gaps like this have happened multiple times before. Did not watch more than 40 seconds of your video, sorry if you addressed any of these points later.

It was really just a matter of time before he felt like he'd said all he wanted to say. Being an internet person became a "cheat day" thing from his otherwise strictly held principles. I think he's right that the internet has made a lot of people very miserable. Although I miss Luke, I also know the stress of being a content creator, being a slave to the algorithm, feeling like you have to view everything as "potential content", and I wouldn't wish that on any good person. There's been many cases of a youtuber going on vacation and realising how their "job" had actually been holding them back from experiencing life, wouldn't surprise me if Luke had that same realisation, especially in a place as beautiful and chilled as Montenegro.

Luke Smith’s channel was good, but I’m honestly glad he’s gone. He began to fall into the same trap of leaning too heavily into your audience that most UA-camrs do, and picked up some weird mannerisms from it (i.e. making weird voices when mocking a group/idea, bombastic ramblings) and his stuff suffered heavily from it. I gave his latest Not Related! a listen the other day, immediately knew that I could never share it with someone I want to introduce to his content. I’d prefer it if he had a dead channel of timeless stuff
