I think that Robin Crosby was the heart and soul of this band.....and if he was still here, I think all original members would still be together playing
Music to die for He was important and deserves respect....But make no mistake, Warren deMartini is what kept this band from being average....He is still considered by many to be the best ever from this era and genre.
RATT was Robbin and Stephen then Juan and finally Warren. The E.P. was hard hitting. THOSE songs along with many others were written by Stephen and Robbin. Robbin was pushed into a rhythm player by Demartini and his ego. Robbin was just as good. Yes if the "King" would have been treated like the talent he was he would still be here today. RATT aint RATT without Robbin and Warren. Just like KK and Tipton. Gets so old listening to everyone suck Demartini's balls. He was good but not that good. Then everything he played after Way cool JR had that same blues based guitar tone. Shit, Carlos smoked him on infestation.

Robin faught alot of battles with himself, He was the king at first, then came warren, which Robin was humble, and let him shine, He knew warren was on another level, but it still ate at his emotions and inner selfesteme...He played it very well that it didnt though....Robin was a big part of the band regardless....RIP
What goes through my mind after watching this is how Robbin would still be with us today if he didn't go down that dark path of heroin addiction. He lost everything to that horrible, evil drug, including his own life. Unfortunately, the damage is done, and I hope he found some peace of mind on the other side. God bless you Robbin, and rest in peace.

I dated someone that was a frontman for a very successful rock band that was up and coming in the 80s and date number two we get to my place after dinner and he s in my bathroom tossing the cookies and shaking then abruptly excuses himself to leave. My friend that introduced us met him at a NA mtg in topanga canyon go figure she then told me he was asked to leave bc he was found shooting in his toes to avoid obvious tracks in his arms. Maybe Robbin was embarrassed about the fact that he was being controlled by the dope idk but REST IN PARADISE KING! You won the battle and whoever got you high that their cross to bear

Up until DANCING UNDERCOVER, Robbin was still writing alot and soloing all over the place...It was basically still Robbin and Stephen's band. After Warren took over, it became more 'pop' sounding. The REAL Ratt was Invasion, Cellar and the EP....Period
Robbin is starting to look more jaded . I met these guys quite a few times over the years and it was blatantly obvious by 91' the wheels were coming off the bus sadly.
A year from when this video was shot, it would all be over for RATT and the hair band scene. They had no idea what grunge was going to do. By 1992, RATT was long gone off the scene. Same for Dokken, WASP, Motley, Poison etc....
From the first seconds of this video (when Robbin started to talk) he looked albeit slightly but still visibly inadequate. He made that spastic jaw movements and put strange mimic here & there, as he was drunk in there, or high on something...or maybe both. It's so sad to see the end of a person like him, kinda chronicles of personal deteriorating on camera...

Robbin got married and revealed he was smoking heroine every night in his mansion in the late 80's. Addiction yes, but many other underlying factors that are not fair for me to speculate on.
Yeah I was able to find a magazine interview that Crosby gave sometime in the late 90s. There was something amiss about Robbin I feel. Addiction I have found it is usually blanketing an underlying problem. Yeah Bobby, Juan and Warren all had kids by the late 80s. It was Pearcy and Robbin that really fueled their respective partying lifestyles. You read Pearcy's biography and all of his crazy 80s habits carried well into the 90s and 2000s.
Seem like they pretty much gave up on Robin, Im sure they could have done more. Warren seem to have a big part of it aswell, pretty much making lead guitar duties his job in the band when the duties should have been split more equal…

Michael Viger I actually never have given “Reach” a fair chance. Dance has managed to grow a little bit on me. I still think their first one is the total package and one of the eighties best rock albums! Detonator even though as you say “had to much filler” I believe is heavier than both “Reach” and “Dance”. And I think that if RATT would have had a better “deal”, releasing albums every two years instead of every year, then they probably could have delivered better material. But that’s just my opinion 🤓
Sixtra Cellar reached (no pun intended) higher heights (2nd fav). But Invasion just edges it out - solid top to bottom.....no filler. Such an awesome lp. Don’t know why it “only” went platinum.
