I don’t want to dog Tim out because I think that’s been done enough the last few years online. Even if he was in the wrong in a lot of these old smoky mountain stories, we all make mistakes. I don’t think any of us would like to hear our biggest professional failures talked about over and over again nationwide. However that being said It really does not paint him in a good light because I thought SMW’s booking was pretty solid from the beginning all the way through the night of legends in 1995. I think after the night of legends the booking did kind of start suffering the last half of 1995. But Tim wasn’t even there for that part so if he had a problem with the booking from 1991 through half of 1994 the only thing you can really say is that Tim wasn’t happy because he wasn’t on top. I’ve heard other Smoky Mountain wrestlers besides Jim say that Tim thought he should’ve been the long running Babyface champion. I really thought The promotion was booked just fine the first 3 1/2 years so the only thing that I can think of he would be complaining about was his own spot? And Tim wasn’t a bad worker by any means I mean he is four times better easily than anyone on TV today. But we all know in old-school wrestling back in the day just being a good worker wasn’t enough to be a top guy. I mean we all thought Chris Benoit was an excellent wrestler when we first saw him in WCW and same with dean Milenko but if you don’t have a personality that can ride up the crowd you’re missing it. I don’t want to say it was the mullet because a lot of guys had mullets like Tracy and Barbie and they made it work LOL but I don’t know Tracy Smothers Came off as like one of the Dukes of Hazzard, a southern rebellious bad ass that was going to stand up for everything right that could cut a hell of a promo. I think that’s what Tim was going for but Tim kind of came off more Joe Dirt like than Dukes of Hazard.

In a strange way I think Jim tried to make Tim Horner quit SMW until he fired him. Tim was a talented in the ring and could help out the younger talent. Jim seemed to put him in spots that he knew wouldn't work. He embarrassed him with that "Shameless" video. He couldn't do promos that well, so he had him cut promos instead of getting a manager. He stuck him in the Kendo the Samurai gimmick. Outside of the ring, Tim did some agent work. worked as a trainer and did merchandise. It seemed that Tim tried his best in whatever role that Jim had him in.

Bobby Blaze was a good wrestler, but he should have never been SMW Heavyweight Champion. They had him beat Brian Logan, Jerry Lawler (to win SMW Heavyweight Champion) and Buddy Landel (gave him a SMW Heavyweight Champion title shot) all in the same night! IMO, I think the reason why Bobby Blaze won the title was to piss off Tim Horner. Bobby basically took over Tim's spot on the card.
