This video is a prime example of why demolitions are more art than science-one small miscalculation, and it's a whole new disaster! Can't believe how unpredictable these situations can get
Most of the ones I saw were bad man. Like the ones where people or cars are next to the area.... and one I saw people screaming and running towards the demo as it seems someone got hurt after.
This was a silo demolished in April 2018 in Vordingborg in Denmark. The silo was 53 meters tall, and it did fall about 180° the wrong way, causing destruction for about $ 1 million.😢
In 1982 in Cleveland there was a demolition of the Williamson Bldg, it fell in the Footprint of the building as planned but the damage to surrounding buildings due to the debris and the Shockwave was in the millions.
I would be content watching the videos without commentary. Even if some definitely didnt "went horribly wrong", but went exactly as planned. But having someone spout increadibly misinformed nonsense over all the clips just to feel important is a bit too much..
From a demolition point of view, it would be embarrassing. You obviously have never paid insurance when explosives etc are involved... Time to stop making comments before actually thinking...
I had a VHS tape called 1994 Big Buildings, it's on UA-cam, that I watched when I was like 2/3yo and it had building demolitions with music. I absolutely loved that tape when I was a kid
Yes and a couple of feets..! 😂 Actually it was 50 meters high. It was in Vordingborg, Denmark. The library was new build as the old industrial harbour no longer was in use and there was made some new city planning for the area.
That was the Savanna Sabula bridge..that's was a work vehicle that was driving on the new bridge right before they imploded the old bridge. Video was actually put out by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Strange that it showed a Las Vegas demolition that went perfectly, but didn't show the one that didn't go as planned, but was shown in the movie, "Mars Attacks".
What about the one in the dark Knight where Heath ledger was leaving the hospital and he was supposed to blow up the hospital but it did not do it on time and his reaction was improvised and real
14:35 Chimney 1: We have been here for decades staring at each other, wondering if we will ever be together. Chimney 2: Today is the day we finally meet and have our first kiss.
That's what they did in the USA over a hundred years ago, here in Australia, they were completely stand alone buildings away from other buildings of any kind.
At 30.10 two chimneys fell into each other. It was designed to happen that way. Happened as part of the demolition of Scotland’s last coal fired power station.
All I can think of is..... what a waste and what a mess and a breathing hazard and fish dying in the bridge demolitions. I wonder how much salvaging goes on before something is demolished. Where does all the waste go? Anything recycled?
How many years of service, and just how much electricity are we getting out of these turbines before they're being taken down? Cost of the land? Cost of construction? Cost of maintenance? Cost of demolition? Cost of cleanup?
14:40 was a local one to me in Cockenzie in Scotland. Apparently when the two chimneys hit each other you could see a devils face. A lot of viewers say they saw it but even slowing the footage down I can't.
A lot of them went perfectly according to plan. Several times again foottage of a minutes earlier demolition but from another angle. Missing the Philips VH building in Eindhoven where the elevator shaft didn't fell down and got stuck in the basement.
Some of these clips 'Went Perfectly Well'
This video is a prime example of why demolitions are more art than science-one small miscalculation, and it's a whole new disaster! Can't believe how unpredictable these situations can get
I know... that's why you can't judge a book by it's title
yep, like the one at 2:30
I know what you mean several were just great not horrendous at all
This particular channel mistitles everything to get the views.
I don't understand, most of these demolitions were perfectly ok!
The amount of people who click when "bad" shows up in the title is several times more.
They might look OK t9 the average Joe, but from a demolition point of view most are embarrassing.
Most of the ones I saw were bad man. Like the ones where people or cars are next to the area.... and one I saw people screaming and running towards the demo as it seems someone got hurt after.
1:00 "The five meter tall building..." - I'm sure it was taller than five meters.
Five meters diameter
@@normandseguin6103 Even that is wrong. It is more than 5m in diameter. He likely meant 50m tall and its diameter is about 1/4 of that, or 12.5m.
I think the narrator is only about 15cm tall, so 5M it is
This was a silo demolished in April 2018 in Vordingborg in Denmark. The silo was 53 meters tall, and it did fall about 180° the wrong way, causing destruction for about $ 1 million.😢
best muted. narrator is really annoying.
story of my life
Couldn't agree more
5M tall building .... it's a bloody tall tower ffs
It's a pleasure to see demolitions go right.
In 1982 in Cleveland there was a demolition of the Williamson Bldg, it fell in the Footprint of the building as planned but the damage to surrounding buildings due to the debris and the Shockwave was in the millions.
the guy crossing the bridge in the pickup probably works for the demolition company
Alan Partridge narration makes this a harder watch than it shoudda been
To say it was childish denigrates children...
I would be content watching the videos without commentary. Even if some definitely didnt "went horribly wrong", but went exactly as planned.
But having someone spout increadibly misinformed nonsense over all the clips just to feel important is a bit too much..
The two towers that kissed each other for final goodbye is the best
Designed to happen like that as part of the demolition of Scotland’s last coal fired power station.
@3:20 that pickup was actually doing a final check of the adjacent bridge to make sure nobody was on it.
@7:19 surprised that cable could hold the operator’s MASSIVE balls!
The demo rig was operated remotely.
Personally, I think it would be cool to actually do it live.
Most of these did not go horribly wrong. Why not just be honest?
Because mind wearhouse is so full it doesn't have room for honesty 😂 Ya I would have watched either way
Go take a powder 'n lie down!😀
I’ll bet from the insurance point of view they did !
@@shawnkiesel5349 Me too, it's rivetting whichever happens
From a demolition point of view, it would be embarrassing. You obviously have never paid insurance when explosives etc are involved... Time to stop making comments before actually thinking...
About half of these went exactly as planned.
I had a VHS tape called 1994 Big Buildings, it's on UA-cam, that I watched when I was like 2/3yo and it had building demolitions with music. I absolutely loved that tape when I was a kid
8:47 That wind sound it makes when it comes down is sick
5 meter.... really... hmmm
Yes and a couple of feets..! 😂 Actually it was 50 meters high. It was in Vordingborg, Denmark. The library was new build as the old industrial harbour no longer was in use and there was made some new city planning for the area.
If that tower was 5 meters then the houses were a couple inches. ..
Maybe 6🤔
I came to see if anyone else 😁caught that.
14:35 Poetry in motion. Give that man a cigar!
Great Compilation!👍 A few of these were like a Beautiful "Beethoven Symphony"!👌👏🎻
Always found this fascinating. Thanks for posting .
The two guys in their hi vise vests hugging......for a while..... as if it doesn't usually go this well. LOL
Well, that sea platform demolition. . . How many fish deaths, disorientation of cetacean species, occurred?
76
that guy in the hanging machine is quite a boss
Unmanned remotely controlled robot
Someone should make a video of how they get the bridge out of the river after they blow it up.
with a magnet.
Rewind the video and pick it up with a crane 😂
That was the Savanna Sabula bridge..that's was a work vehicle that was driving on the new bridge right before they imploded the old bridge.
Video was actually put out by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
More than half of these went perfectly well, or according to plan. Even the narrator described some of them as flawless.
Almost watchable when muted
Thanks for the video.
_-“After the explosion the five metre tall building started falling”-_
Wherein the 75m tall silo said FU to the engineers!
Humanity seems really intent on going back to the stone ages
6:32 those poor horses!
What horses?
21:15 Glad to see a Health & Safety umbrella in use.
14:45 That was a work of art, nothing wrong with that! 😎
Strange that it showed a Las Vegas demolition that went perfectly, but didn't show the one that didn't go as planned, but was shown in the movie, "Mars Attacks".

The one in ConAir, the stardust. That was amazing and perfect.
Most of these were right on.
Should have called Fred Dibnah!!
That 5m tall silo looked big, didn't it?
Hence the “miscalculation”.😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Over half of these went as they should have.
Your gold star is in the mail.
@@jessiepooch Thank you, but I already have too many.
No different than The Twin Towers in NY on 9-11
That silo was more than 5M tall.
Less talking would improve the experience considerably.

Chimney 1: We have been here for decades staring at each other, wondering if we will ever be together.
Chimney 2: Today is the day we finally meet and have our first kiss.
*Your channel always makes my day better. Thanks for posting*
"Got perfect"? I'm not sure, but I agree they went pretty well.
This video is awesome! Great job!
1:05 that is not a 5 meter building. More like 50 meters.
That one at 9:10 reminds me of something...
Why is destruction so damn satisfying?
7:38 "Uh, hey, Bob?" "Yeh, Jim?" "Could ya see yer way to reelin' me back in about now? I gots to change mah shorts..."
Liked the one where the two chimneys fell into each other
01:01 5 metre tall building?! Closer to 50
I enjoy these Great videos
These foolish situations are evidence that caution and attention are crucial in daily work.
5 meter tall building? you and me have some very different measuring tapes :D
1:02 - the *five meter tall* building...
are you serious?
Not gonna lie I found the demo at 12:54 impressive
Silos should never be built near any other structures.
Could be that other buildings are built near to the silo's.
Would kinda defeat their purpose.
@@Jim-hj4py No actually they are used to fill trucks and train cars, no need for any building.
Piffle.
That's what they did in the USA over a hundred years ago, here in Australia, they were completely stand alone buildings away from other buildings of any kind.
Well, you wanted it down, it's down!
3:26 The truck had the horn attached to it ffs.

9:19 it went down just like the World Trade Center, that’s unsettling 🇺🇸🕊️❤️🩹!
So many of these have no fall zone protection.
This Silo did the same thing when they took it down MONTHS ago.
They ran out of horribly wrong early on.
How many years of service, and just how much electricity are we getting out of these turbines before they're being taken down?
Cost of the land?
Cost of construction?
Cost of maintenance?
Cost of demolition?
Cost of cleanup?
How about you research that

Easier to destroy than building it. There is an air of regret to see structures and building going down for good after many years standing.
'Structure Demolitions That Went as Planned'
I didn't see any that went "horribly wrong".
I can think of three buildings you didn't include that were controlled demolitions..........
What on Earth are you suggesting ?!?!
For Fisher probably saying you damn kids with all your noisy games😅😅
1:02 Five meters tall?!?!? WTF!!!?
0:54 maybe the "random error" happened because they made the (mis)calculation for a "5 meter tall building
Almost half of these did exactly what they were supposed to do, but I guess people wont watch "194 old buildings fall down."
1:18 they treated the silo like it was wood.
I like to see how they do it. but I don't understand why they do it?
at 0:58 5 meter tall building? or is my hearing worse then i thought🤣
That’s corporate America for you. People are not much more valuable than the office chairs. Tragic.
Less than half went wrong, much less "horribly".
Dude in truck on bridge was the one that set it off and was blowing the horn, hear it pass by the camera.
0:50....that silo is a hell of a lot more than 5 meters ( 16 ft. 4 in. ).
11:36 Building them often takes a lot of time, but destroying them is very quick
People cheer the destruction, BUT where were they when the structures were being constructed?
1:03 And here I thought five metres was only about 16 feet! Silly me! And taking out the side of a two story building is hardly ‘some’ damage!
That demolition at 9:11 reminds me what ti looked like when those towers fell on 9/11 all those years ago
I think when the operator touched the oil rig that fell, I bet they lost their insurance
5mt tall silo eh! Looks a tad taller to me.
Everything went according to plan. Until it didn't.
7:46 Just like in Just Cause 3
the underwater one. i wonder what that did to the sea life
at 14:22 i wonder if it even produced enough electricity in its life span to counter the energy it took to create and operate it🤣
'The 5 metre tall building started...' I think you meant the '100 metre tall building...'
This narrator obviously has no clue what he`s talking about
They never do.
"The 5 metre tall building"....
5 meters tall silo? More like 50 meters.
@ 0:50, the structure was taller than "5 meters".
3:40 stupid narration, that pickup truck driver was the demolition crew visually confirming all clear!
1.02 - 5 metre tall building ?? You've got your metric and your imperial units scrambled.
Yeah, but everybody knows that you only need a couple of 747's to do the same kind of job, remember in New York?
Common phrase heard in all these videos: "Hey Bubba, watch this and hold my beer!"
