- I show you how to backup (full backup) an iPhone to a MacBook or iMac (Apple Mac computer) from the Finder window (no iTunes). I hope this helps.

this was very helpful because I couldn't find how to actually transfer the info from my phone onto my new iMac. Does the general backup option also backups the photos & videos, text, call history, files & music etc or we need to choose separate backup options?
if you select "back up all of the data" instead of "back up your most important data" it will have everything

How would you get your old iPhone info, photos, text messages, etc stuff to your new iPhone without damaging you old iPhone? I want to know fast because my old iPhone is used and has the button on it that is stuck but my dad just past away a year ago and my mom said I can save money by just not fixing the phone and make my dad’s phone my new phone. What about the encrypted password? I just backed up my old phone and want to set up my new phone from "restore frmo this backup". However, it is asking for that password. I didnt set up a password and have no idea what it is if one was set up for me.
i did the same , initially there was 4 gb less space on my mac . then i deleted lots of data : now total empty space on mac is 188 gb and backup of iphone is 127 gb. `however whenever i click on backup button , i get a message that there is less space on my macbook. this is insane. i can see its 188 gb free space on macbook ...not sure whats the issue here

You can make as many backups as you want. It won’t overwrite the others.

yeah but what if you don't have enough space on the mac to backup the iphone, how do you change backup device?
I'd say invest in an external/ terabyte of storage and offload everything from the Mac to that external. Keeping the rarely used stuff on the hard drive and the things you may need more often onMac. I don't plan to use I cloud so I'm doing this while being more diligent about deleting unnecessary things and being more elective when it take photo/vids etc

I have like over 247 gig only 3gigs left on my phone, however my new MacBook Air I just bought has 1TB, thanks for video, stupid apple worker told me something different noticed my iCloud had 303 GB but my MacBook had over 970 GB
