Just got myself a Speed Triple 955i. Now I get the Triumph hype. Its friggin sweet. Its naughty and has character like an old Jaguar. To think I almost bought a Harley...
I was worried after watching Spite's simping video that things might be changing and the simping mantle had been passed on...but now all is right in the world
Ive got the little brother, the 2014 street triple 675 rs. After 24 years of riding nearly every size and style of bike, this js the one I’ve settled on for my joy riding. The agility and torque, it is so damn fun.
How's the riding position? I hear keep hearing positive (like yammie) and negative to very negative (Neevsey) on the position. I want one and im coming off a supersport(RSV4 1100). If it's rides as it looks im in!
@@stephencarbajal5657 It's less aggressive than an RSV4 but still plenty sporty. I regularly ride mine all day without any issues but I would not want to tour on it. It rides incredibly well for such a sporting machine with it's very high level of performance. I personally find it more comfortable than my Touno V4 for comparison but others might disagree. Neevsey is certainly entitle to his opinion, even if he's wrong. :) Most reviews of this bike are very positive but what really matters is how it feels to you. I've put almost 12k miles on mine and I still can't wait to ride it again.
They don't really have any touring options. They have some ADV bikes and you can throw a few packs on the Rocket 3 but hardly the same. But yeah, one category of riding/bike out of a dozen and Triumph wins everywhere else (too early to see if the PanAm can match the Tiger but the Tiger does it cheaper anyway).
Harley's paint and chrome is the best. Their bottom power is arguably better.( A m8 stage 2 has 100 rwhp at 4600 rpm whereas a KTM sdr makes 100 hp at 6000. A Rocket 3 feels softer ) The Triumph Speedy rr is horn looking handles good and goes like shit off a shovel , but those 45 degree motors sound effin awesome l understand why hogs are so popular here in Kiwiland
Yammie they better give you a big advertisement bonus for that brilliant and masterful Manscaped product overview. I will replicate that process exactly.
Awesome. I've been riding a 2016 Daytona 675R for 10 years, and finally peeking around to see what's out there. I want to make it clear that I will never sell this crystal white beauty. But I might buy it a friend...
We're getting to the point where I'm also looking forward to sponsor-pieces. I lost it at "I'm talking about your ballllssss". And it's nice seeing Yam simping for Triumph again. I've never owned one, but the GF rides a Thruxton and she loves it.
They are completely different bikes but they are both Triumphs. The fact you get that Daytona feeling is a lot more in your head than in reality. That’s how you build a brand, right there.
whaaat, whats your maintenance like? do you diy or let the garage handle it completely? I’m very interested on hearing how to keep a bike running that long, maybe do you think that the build quality is vastly superior to other bikes?
Yam...yes i keep hearing your praise for "skynet" style computer control...but not everyone wants a hunter killer or terminator running interference on how fast i wish to ride, not to mention owing and ridden both efi and carbie bikes i feel more at home on a carbie bike then a efi...carbie feels more natural and real compared to efi and the digital sounds (caveat my experience is mainly dirty Harley with efi vs harley with carbie...)
originally the Speed Triple 955i was based on a Daytona 955i. Of course that was a long a time ago, but the frame nor the bike did change radically since. They just put the fairing back and created a Daytona 1200 and called it Speed Triple RR because of the marketing department. Of coure the 675 / 765 are completely different bikes
I have a question, perhaps one others have asked..... Why hasn't Triumph thrown their hat into the luxury touring ring? They have the perfect platform with the rocket three! Could you imagine a bagger with that engine lol they compare the Goldwing to a Honda Civic perhaps a true "Grand Touring" Rocket 3 bagger night be akin to an Aston Martin lol.
I think it’s all about knowing your place as a company lol. That category is dominated by the likes of the Gold Wing and the K1600 (and ofc Harley’s big touring bikes) Why compete in that market when we can focus our efforts into the rest of our bikes? It’s like when BMW came out with the R18 to enter that muscle cruiser marked or when Harley with the Pan Am to enter the ADV market. I would say both the R18 and the Pan Am failed to compete with what was already out there.
So Papa Yams, would you say the 1200RR would make a good 4th bike? I'm gonna have a cdl right quick and was looking to convert my R3 and 675R to track bikes, while making my soon to be Tiger 850 Sport the mile munched.
So I hear you always talking about the 675 have you ever rode or ever talked about the 04 triumph daytona 600? I watch alot of your videos and you never have to my knowledge. So I want to know your opinion on it.
I too have owned 3 675s one of which i still own (2013 675r). I am drawn to the Triple RR though I really want it for longer days street riding, is it more comfortable or is it still a pain in the neck after 200 miles?
I own the 1200RS and tried the RR too, I can say it will get quite painful after a while as the RS just feels perfect for me. I’m riding 80/20% street/track.✌️
It's a sportsbike but not as extreme as a supersports, you get used to it, but after an hour or two you're going to want to stretch for 15 mins like any focussed bike. I have one.
The main difference is that you can buy a second hand Daytona for £5k and a new Street Triple RR is £17k+ in the UK. I know which one I would prefer to drop on track.... as do you yammie.... 5 daytona's in... if they were £17k RRs you'd cry.
No you can get an unregisterd previous year stock for £12500, do difference to 2022 and 2023 production models. So get 5k off for nothing... 17k is still a bargin to get the same tech you'd have to pay 30k+ on a bmw ducatti or the like....
Not related to this vid but I wanna buy either a MT09 or an XSR900 but for some reason dealers won’t let you test drive them. Not about to drop 10k on a bike I’ve never even tried… any solutions to this problem. Thanks.
I have limited experience buying bikes... but I bought mine from a dealer and their policy is not to do test rides on anything super fast. mt-03, no problem. mt-07, maybe...how long ya been riding? mt-09, hell no. I assume its because of liability issues from people who think they know what they are doing and then proceed to yeet themselves into a tree or car or w/e. As to what to do.... I think the website is called "Twisted Roads"? Its a place where you can rent bikes to try out. I've not looked into this myself but I know there are videos on this channel where they talk about it. Worth a try. I agree dropping 10k for something that you've never tried is sketchy as hell.
Honestly owning a 675R I can't say id ever have the new 1200. Nothing the 1200 has looks wise comes close to the Daytona, it's ugly as hell, and the sound too. I get times are changing but not having a true sports bike anymore was really a sad blow for triumph. I'll never sell my Daytona.
I borrowed this bike from the dealer when i had mine serviced. it's just too fast man, its ridiculous. This bike can live it's entire life in first gear! I think the sweetspot is at around 100-120HP. This bike wants to rip your arms of and kill you! :D
At least you didn't make us listen to 8 minutes of Hail Britiania or God Save the Queen while you shamelessly simped for Br'i'ish motorcycles. Jokes aside that is a beautiful bike and I would like to see another riding video out of it before it gets given away to someone that I can only hope understands the incredible motorcycle goodness that they are about to receive. Also, the Manscaped plug was fantastic clowning. A nice mix of gross and hilarious.

Phew, that was a close one
As a 955i Daytona owner I have to say it gets even better. Oh and I also own a Buell, you can get a better Harley too
I was worried after watching Spite's simping video that things might be changing and the simping mantle had been passed on...but now all is right in the world

The Speed Triple RR is surprisingly small and approachable in person. was expecting it to be much bigger due to the 1200.
triumph is the most well rounded motorcycle company ever they make everything 10/10 better than Harley Davidson

I have that same 1200RR Crystal White. Powerbronze tinted screen, a few more bits of carbon..Heel guards and hugger. SC titanium slip-on.
That 1200 is such a gorgeous machine🥺
That Speed triple is one of the sexiest bikes
Not a triumph fan boy by any means but damn that is a fine looking motorcycle 👌
Ride one... you will soon be a fan boy
The triple RR is so so good looking! I wish it was not pricey. However, its worth it

They are completely different bikes but they are both Triumphs. The fact you get that Daytona feeling is a lot more in your head than in reality. That’s how you build a brand, right there.
In my opinion there's no substitute for the torque of a big engine. That motor would be nice in a sport tourer.
It kinda does, the 20222 Tiger 1200's
Great vid, awesome real world sports bike
Just got my sick yammie noob shirt in thr mail I'm stoked 😎 same one your wearing!!!
