Thanks to you mate, I have just finished rebuilding my 2nd engine. Your videos are a great resource for help. Thanks for sharing and going into detail on each step. 🍻
Congratulations on the start up. It’s definitely a momentous occasion when she fires up the first time. Especially when there aren’t fluids running out on the ground!
Hi Nigel been watching your build & was hoping to se some more recent updates is there another channel you are doing as I cant find anything since this clip was released.
That's what I thought, but I don't think the engine management has anything to do with doors or lights? Unless they program it so the engine light is a "warning" light?? You still in hospital buddy?
Hi Nigel, you haven't been posting videos in a long time, where are you with the Defender rebuilding? I followed all your videos step by step. When will it be possible to see more videos?
I'm sorry about that, I can't wait for you to be back in full swing, your videos are extremely useful, and you give great insights and advice.@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59
@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59 When you reconnect the battery, turn the ignition on for 10 seconds without starting the engine, do that twice, and then restart 👍
@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59 As I understand it, shorting the battery cables discharges residual power from the ECU's, the ignition on twice tells the ECU to expect new readings 🤷 joiner by trade, lost my job last year, hard to find a new job to fit in with being a single parent, bought a non-runner transit to go self employed with, "could be an easy fix" turned out to be "needs top end rebuild" I'm doing it myself with nothing more than a Haynes manual and your video's 😬 done the valve lapping thing today and cleaned the head up, ready for refit (block still in the van so easier to refit turbo manifold first) tomorrow's task maybe 😁
Hi Nigel. Been following your Border Lanc build which is certainly keeping you very busy. Now that summer is arriving, are you planning to do any more work on the Defender?
Your video's are excellent Nigel 👌 I'm at a point of first start up but I need help! It turns over nicely and sounds right, but it's not firing! I'm thinking the injectors need unclogging, if you can do a video on injector stripping/servicing I'd appreciate it 👍 Transit 2.0 Duratorq Di
@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59 I didn't number them but I did make a point of keeping them in order, I did find a video in the finish, they're all done and 3 out of 4 refitted, currently rained off, when it fines up again I'll get the last one in and bleed them off, hopefully it'll go this time 😆
Hi nigel great videos.. Nigel I have a 90 2.4 2006 I'm getting a kind of blowing sound coming from the engine after I've been driving for 15 minutes or so. I was driving down the motorway and it went in to limp mode and the blowing noise stopped do you think it's something to do with the turbo or gasket. Dean

Hello Nige, how's the landy going? Been a while and I miss watching your updates :)
Sorry buddy.. be back soon. She's still here as we left off..
Are you doing any more videos in this series? I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yes mate.. back soon with the better weather..
I have a 2007 keswick green 90 pickup, I wish it looked like yours :-)
where u gone Nige???
It's probably lighting up because there's electrical bits not fitted (light's, steering wheel, body panels, etc).
That's what I thought, but I don't think the engine management has anything to do with doors or lights? Unless they program it so the engine light is a "warning" light?? You still in hospital buddy?
Hi Nigel just wondering when you might be posting some new videos as all these have been really informative cheer’s Claudio
Hi Nigel, you haven't been posting videos in a long time, where are you with the Defender rebuilding?
I followed all your videos step by step.
When will it be possible to see more videos?
We has a wet winter.. then I injured my hand, then it has been mega hot. I will be back soon.
I'm sorry about that, I can't wait for you to be back in full swing, your videos are extremely useful, and you give great insights and advice.@@defender90keswick.nigelsla59
Hi any advise or tips on lining the rear tub and seatbox up correctly ? Thanks
I used wooden paint brush handles in the holes and string to square everything up.
I think you should name the channel "Nigel's Garage"
Good work. How's about Nigel's Garage or In the garage with Nigel?
Like it!!
If you disconnect the battery leads and touch them together for about 20 mins that can discharge the ECU and extinguish the EML 👌
Thanks Robbie.. I'll try that and let you know here if it worked?

Just tried it and it didn't work.. then I came and read your latest comment.. right.. lets try again.

Hi Robbie. I will not be doing a video on injector stripping as mine are fine. Did you number the injectors and prime the fuel system manually?

Hi Nigel. Just wondering how its going?
All good thanks. Back soon.

Sounds like you have a leak after the turbo. Should be easy to find.
Nigel's 4x4 Garage?
How about Nigel's 4X4's
