I'm so happy you made a video about this topic. It certainly isn't talked much about. BTW, a small Polish channel, Galahad History (about 500 subscribers, even fewer views of most of his videos), made a whole series (in English) about this very topic and recently combined them all into a longer documentary. I highly recommend them.
My blood boils whenever I think of how Polish soldiers, officers, leaders, and scientists were treated by the Allies. Oh, you cracked the enigma and want to offer your experience? Nah, give us your results, and f-off! You are a veteran officer who fought in 3 wars and based on the experience of fighting the Nazis you formulated strategies to counter theirs'? Nah, we are superior to you in every way and don't need your advice. Oh, you graduated from one of the most elite air-force schools in the world and fought Luftwaffe in Poland and France where you shot down several enemy fighters? Nah, we don't need veterans in our air force while were are the target of the biggest air bombing operation in history. I swear "Allies" must be the most ironic name ever.
Ah, yes, and then there was the cherry on top of this cake: the victory parade in London after the war. Guess which only nation was eliminated from it?... Ah, allies.
@@patrickweber3954 Add to this gold transported from Poland for safekeeping later confiscated after the war by our lovely ally Great Britain as... payment for the equipment used by Polish soldiers who fought for GB!!.... 2:50 During the Saar offensive the French army actually reached the defenses of the Siegfreid Line and only withdrew entirely from Germany a few weeks after Poland had been defeated, the Saar offensive simply lasted as long as the invasion of Poland and even a bit more. France was the only nation to undertake a military invasion of the German territory in response to the invasion of Poland, the french offensive was launched almost immediately after the Germans set foot in Poland, yet the french army had mobilized only 7 days prior and wasn't yet ready for such an operation.
The role of Poland after 1939 is super underrated! Are you going to talk about the home army and polish partisan warfare? I am excited for this series!
We fought on every WW2 front. In Norway, in Libia, in Italy, Battle for Britain, D-Day, Market Garden, Rush on Berlin from both sides, through Siberia. Even few pilots fought on Pacific against Japan. For equipment we used We had to PAY. French even tried to steal our gold reserves. Still We were not invited on any victory parade, we didnt win our indepedence. And West still wonder why we are so "distrustful"... .
@loony nilon We as a nation. Do You know a concept of a nation? Im a proud Pole. Members of my family fought and died in WW1 and 2. Dont teach me how to pronounce my heritage mr nobody
Hello Hilbert. Very interesting. I probably commented before that my Polish work colleague sometimes mentions about the Polish who fought in Italy, knowing I like history and my uncle was a UK POW there, then in Silesia. He originally asked because another colleague's father was on the so called "Long March" of UK POWs from Silesia, but I was told my uncle got away through the eastern front and to Odessa, coming home in time for VE day. My Polish colleague was surprised when I mentioned there had been Brazilians in Italy in the multi national force after a previous video.
@Hilbert, I keep on hoping you will make a video on the Free French Forces. Alsjeblieft! Van een franse Nederlandstaalige fan 🤗There is so much to talk about! Just giving you a few ideas: The French pilots who fought in the Soviet Union! (The Normandie-Niemen squadron). The battle of Bir Hakeim, when the Free French stopped Rommel! Th crossing of the Saharan desert by Leclerc to attack Italian Fezzan from Chad. Or the battles between the Free French and the forces of the Vichy regime in Gabon, and Syria. Ik hoop😔
Cheers good 👍 Job Could You tell us why 99 % war crimes in Poland was never prosecuted? All the art and treasure was looted by the German not Nazis. And why the properties and belongings of Top Tichrd Reich people was even not confiscated and many things like that. I did start check it and was really shocked 😲

Hi i just watched the history of Netherlands vs Belgium. Since im from Aachen, where the 3 country point is, i would like to know more about the history around. Could you do a video on Neutral Moresnet?
Your Polish pronounciations are improving! Maybe soon you'll take up Polish as your third nationality and we'll see the same national anthem interludes as you do with Netherlands :D
There are some mistakes in this commentary. Germany invaded Poland in September 1st NOT the 3rd! It was on September 3rd when England and France declared war on Germany . This is what was called the Phoney War since while the Poles were fighting bravely the English and French never came to help them. Also another mistake you made is saying Polish troops were gathering in France in October of 1940! What a mistake!!! the Germans invaded France in May of 1940!
Can you make a video on what if you meaning us regular people were kings and queens of Europe during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance on what our lives would be like what choices would have to make and what would we have to do as being rulers with the things we do with
It feels natural that they would. In France, UK, Norway, Libya, Italy, Netherlands Belgium and so on and so on but now it appears that they probably shouldn't as they didn't get anything out of it other than making the matter of biological survival even worse for themselves. This or the threat of execution after the war if they returned or low wage physical jobs on emigration regardless of age and rank if they stayed.
Yeah, it is still to this day a very "controversial" topic in Poland. It is honestly beyond me how nowadays people try to argue against reparations for Poland.
I think you should've made more of the failed French invasion. If they had continued into Germany, the Germans would have stopped their offensive into Poland. The Polish army must have held their noses to help the French after that betrayal.
A video suggestion, as I couldn't find it in your videos yet: the link between Åland, Öland and Holland. Given the location of those three, and the colonial and seafarer traditions, it would not be unthinkable that Holland would be nothing more than a Viking colony named after the origins of the conquerers... But that's just engineering logic at play. How are the facts?
It’s ok you troll France, but please, read some books. Before Surrender, On 4th June, 1940, 40,000 French soldiers blocked German offsensives launched by 4 Panzer divisions at LILLE so that the British could retreat at DUNKIRK.

Were there any? There were collaborators who worked with the Soviets when they were attacking Poland allied with Germany. The Red Army stopped during the Warsaw Uprising to let the city bleed and get rid of potential undesirables who wanted their country to be independent. And various partisan groups or however we call them were part of the underground state, not affiliated with any specific ideology although people could subscribe to many different political ideologies but probably not commies since they had a different agenda.
its a common knowledge that the cause of ww2 was the versailles treaty after ww1 and its extremely unfair treatment. its also common knowledge that ww2 started because of the ethnic germans being slaughtered in territory stolen in versailles treaty. to only claim the war started at the germans reprisals for these actions were somehow the beginning is untrue and dishonest to the max. i would have expected a lot better from someone with "history" in their name... maybe you can change it to propaganda instead?
