A Metronome in the Sound Hole of a Dulcimer? Improv

I thought it was interesting that my metronome made my low e buzz for a second, so I made a little improv with it. I think this has something to do with the harmonics of the E but I’m not sure why yet. It is interesting to me that the note doesn’t buzz for its whole length but only for the first second or so. If any one knows why please do tell. Also I have never really improvised before so I decided it was a good time to start. Thanks!
