- E-Flite Decathlon RJG 1.2m BNF Basic with AS3X and SAFE Select model assembly. My first hobby grade RC plane. Definitely took longer than the 20 minutes others can assemble but that’s okay.
Hoping I can help prevent some frustrations with a suggestion. I accidentally stripped a 2.5mm x 15mm self-tapping screw during the tail installation. Thank goodness for 2 spare screws from my own stash. Suggestion: pre-screw the self-tapping screw into the tail bracket and back out screw prior to inserting the vertical stabilizer through the horizontal stabilizer. Other than that, it was a breeze! Have fun with yours. Maiden video forthcoming.

Thanks Randy! It was fun to put together. Video of maiden forthcoming, Mark
I like the no nonsense production and using the fade in fade out transitions.
Would have been helpful to have a shot of all the tools needed as the Allen screws were a surprise to me and I didn’t have the metric drivers. Had to order some.👍🏻
Thanks for visiting Vince. Your suggestion is much appreciated. Wishing your Decathlon brings you much joy as mine does to me. 😊, Mark

Hi Mark.
Don’t mean to pester you but can you tell me what the wire that comes from the tail of the Decathlon is? It is yellow, red and brown and is 3 strands.
I’m thinking it is the tail light but was confusing because it looks like the servo type wire.
I got the PNP version and there is just a jumble of wires loose.
The manual doesn’t explain what they all are so I’m trying to figure it out.
I know the rudder, elevator and ailerons wires but that one coming up from the tail is baffling.
Thanks for your help!
@@vincestapleton703 No worries Vince. Happy to help. I just took pictures of my plane’s cords that you’re talking about to share with you.

Thank you Vince. Ditto. Loved watching the snow fall on your video. 😊, Mark
