It's easier to visualize on a number line. There are an infinite amount of decimal numbers between 0 and 1, but that range is also finite. It's simultaneously both infinite and not depending on the context. If each colored laser contains a range of possible values from 0 (off) to 1 (fully lit) then really, the amount of "colors" a single laser diode can also be infinite. I think the more correct term is combinations, not colors, because everything you see from a combination of RGB lasers is still not the full spectrum. It's almost like the difference between digital audio and analog audio. _Almost._

That 'time tunnel' effect is very groovy with an RGB laser!!! :-) When I was 12 or 13, I built a Lissajous projector out of nothing more than two long-throw loudspeakers, two pieces of broken mirror, and a bit of household adhesive tape. I remember making my first lissajous laser scanner out of pieces of broken mirror, tape, and two (fairly long-throw) loudspeakers around 1979 or 1980. The laser source that I used was a Metrologic ML-800 HeNe laser, and I drove the speakers from the spkr. out receptacles on my JVC RC-M70 ghetto blaster. If the music being played through it had good stereo separation, some pretty wild patterns could be generated from this contraption. :-)

Thanks
styropyro: *Laughs in super plasma globe*
Wow. Why the heck would UA-cam ban styro. It’s unbelievable. He’s creating educational content to give others an option to learn about a brand new hobby that they might have never found. That’s profound.
Thank you for explaining chromatic aberration and how it works, i always saw it when i use reshade for video games and in some's settings, but never understood the real life way!
Now what type of glasses are you supposed to use with this thing!?
Welding helmet.
Is fog essential to produce the effect?
It just helps you to see the laser beam in the air by reflecting off of the suspended particles (Glycerin in fog machine).
yes. or the laser is invisible in air
You might still see a faint laser path without fog if you've got some dust in the air.
Smoke works well too.
Alternate title: *How to make the Northern Lights in your own garage.*
Aurora borealis, localized entirely within your garage?
fridaycat uh. Yes!
northern lights is ez weed
to grow bruh
Such a beautiful effect at the end wow 😮
1:45 embedded software is my PASSION 😍
he forgot the moth for good luck :'(
there will be more moth vids soon
YT didn't notify this video to me in ANY way and I have the bell ringing.
Carcharoth i was browsing his videos last night and didn’t even see it in his videos. No notifications and no video on his channel. but i guess this morning it came up 🤷♂️
*Styropyro:* _This RGB laser_ _can produce infinite colors!_
*The Planck Length:* _Am I_ _a joke to you?_
If you don’t get this joke, here’s a quick oversimplified physics lesson:
The Planck Length is the smallest distance physically possible in the universe, and by the very fact that there is a non-zero smallest possible distance, that means these lasers can produce an overwhelmingly large range of colors, *_but it’s_*
*_still finite._*
*TL;DR The range of colors* *on these lasers is very*
*large, but not infinite*
*(but to our puny minds'* *comprehension it*
*might as well be).*
He did say it can't produce all possible colors
Iandiamond Planck length is smallest measurable distance not smallest distance possible
Iandiamond nice try tho
I begun to study shader and light simulation, that video is so amazing
This is the way to teach Physics and most of sciences. In the practice not the theory. Theory itself could be boring till you see it close or indirectly like this.
The laser fog cone looks like soap
what if you were to use only red and blue lasers slightly offset them then do the cone with the spinning mirror then put on those old time red and blue 3d glasses! I wonder how trippy it would be to see the offset haha
You'd be seeing in 4D
Do you want "From Beyond"? Because that's how you get "From Beyond"!
Concept
Bro the end could you imagine tripping out with the homies and in a room like that
I have to try it, it just sounds amazing
Watched this stoned and got really into that lightshow at the end
Been there, done that. Can recommend!
I am setting a goal for myself to learn simple Arduino programming and laser safety so that I can recreate the amazing final demo on May 16th this year. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
Awesome :-) I feeling like my own heaven. U remembered me childhood days when I used to experiment with soap bubbles in front of sunlight in low light room and watch the rainbow effect on bubbles..
What kinda laser goggles did you use that protects against almost every color on the visible light spectrum
White
Some say he wore 3 pairs stacked together.
Some say he's gone blind years ago and builds all his rigs by touch and sound.
TheRealJal 2 what type of laser goggles are the best? Styro says “survival laser.” But I can’t find survival laser goggles any where, where should I look to buy these glasses/goggles?
@@waynewright8189 idk the white thing was a joke. But I recommend you buy goggles from somebody who knows what's what. Don't get em from ebay, amazon, etsy, or Walmart. Get them from a website that focuses on lasers and protection. Idk what site is like that but good luck finding em.
If you block the whole visible spectrum you can't see
"Oof"....
The f*cking sticker's labeled "Oof"...
Laser Time Tunnel sounds like a hipster rock band
2:00 Loving the cable management. If it fits into the box, done.
One question, is the reflected laser of time-tunnel effect dangerous to eyes as well? Cause I remember a powerful display of laser effects (tunnel effect included) on stage which directed at crowds down below, truly beautiful n mesmerizing but after watching styropro's vids I wonder is it really safe to be doing so? And I bet the laser shined backthen r powerful one since its produced big n longdistance effect on top of being vry bright!
Thought of dark side of the moon as soon as you grabbed the prism
Awesome video
"Do not pipet liquids by mouth" Don't tell me what to do!
*Just casually explains the physics behind the spectrum of visible light*
*Just casually makes his own driver circuit for 3 diodes with a dimmer function*
*Just casually makes a white laser*
I genuinely hope I have as strong a understanding of physics when I get older, with or without help, as you do
I love your channel, and wish I had some extra money to play around with more lasers, but at least I can learn by proxy through your channel!
0:38 Is that loss?
Amazing laser videos AND memes at the same time! Yes, please!
its hard to see in the vid but it is a dialog between mr. oranj and meme man
Fantastic 😂
Huh
wb styropyro! :)
Reminds me of that first mission in Half life: Opposing force
You are so smart and so funny. Just dig all these awesome experiments. lasers are so awesome.
Nicely done. UA-cam needs to leave you alone. Interesting, educational.
