I own a rare Military Antiques and Antique Firearms dealer but I have never thought of personally suing my LLC company. I legally could be I wouldn't !
This case actually makes sense. As an EMPLOYEE of a Corporation that pays into Workman Compensation, He is entitled to receive COMPENSATION for an on-the-job injury...
I can also see a company stating that the employee was negligent for not inspecting the product first, not wearing proper safety gear (if he needs his glasses to see fine details he should have been wearing them during inspection and testing, assuming a conclusion to a test, and, finally, taking their eyes off of the product. If the company representative had been anyone besides himself, he'd have possibly lost.
unless throwing boomerangs was part of his official employment contract this could never be covered by workers comp He should be awarded the idiot of the year award for stupidity One for thinking a boomerang would not come back Two for thinking a non employment Injury is covered under workers comp. Three for wasting the courts time Should be heavily fined for wasting everyone’s time
I thought this but then again if the "company" did not put any safety precautions in place, provide SOPs, training or equipment available to give the "employee" then the company may be liable. It's actually a funny but smart case. He is treating himself as he would do in any other job @@kasekinekiratah1800
Now… was he meant to try the boomerang at work? No! And he had it already sold so he definitely didn’t have the right to use it or test it. The judge is 100% wrong in this case.
not really you got him as a owner of the company and you got insurance that acts like they own so what I am guessing is that he tried to get the insurance for an injury but the companies insurance would not let him so he took ot to court so they would not choice but to comply with his demand
If you are the owner and you have injuries that you feel you can’t handle your job well find someone who can handle your job until you recover and feel comfortable working again. The judge has no decision but to rule on your favor because you are sueing yourself. You can’t win by this really
Mr Hogan really should have been more careful with the boomerang, it would return to him and hurt him. Now, he is suing himself in Judge Porter's Court as there were no other people affected by the boomerang but this would be interesting. Judge Porter will know what needs to be done, make a decision and strike the gavel!!! Oh boy, this will be a doozy!!!!
Haven't established work place. If he's partially working, he may be denied... One of clients would have accountant bring checks to post back injury @ hospital. The rare time we had state audit... No matter how invalided, they ruled he worked, denied Workers' comp & he had to pay it all back. The next operation, he & our accountant finagled those checks... I was surprised because the CPA presented himself as honest & risked his CPA license,,, but the CPA Association protected their members, even after convicted for tax fraud...
I'm gonna sue myself for not giving myself a substantial pay raise. Ya know the cost of living keeps going up and up and paying myself first isn't going up and up.
Well, technically he's not suing himself. He's suing his company, which is a separate entity; it's just that it didn't happen to have any other representatives. And since workman's comp comes from the state, not the company, but needs to be proven by way of suing the company, it's actually a case that makes legal sense, even if it's absurd on the face of it. Basically, it's one of the many cases which become ridiculous because of the idiotic legal principle that a corporation is a fictional person, with all the rights and responsibilities of a person in their own right. That's been a disaster from the beginning and it's responsible for all kinds of stupid cases. This kind of thing is a common result.
I don't see how the judge's ruling is correct since the guy already testified that his workers' compensation insurance has already covered his injuries. In many states, the workers' compensation insurance is the exclusive and only remedy for the injured worker. I would dismiss this case outright.
Why in the hell would someone sue themselves it just does not makes any dam sense & if I was the judge I would just throw this case right out of the court
The writers have quite an imagination. For Workers Compensation they have their own court and compensation is limited. You wouldn’t get $150,000. You can file a comp case and a lawsuit against the seller or manufacturer.
The company he is sooo proud of now have a workers comp payment against it. This is just insurance fraud at it best. A business that doesn't consider its employees health and safety shouldn't be in business. But when the employee (him) puts himself in harms way deliberately, the business shouldn't be held liable.
Some court cases we could do: I kinda want to see the kid who was called a squatter back into court. Maybe we could make a court case about after Judge Porter told him to stay away from the women's home that maybe we could turn him into a good guy. I don't know but maybe we can make to make it look like he was trespassing on the home, but he actually wasn't. Also, I want to see Officer Jacobs as a good guy.
Is that one of the two who faked an arrest of an innocent person (one planted a gun, one falsified an interrogation)? I'm not sure you could plausibly reform them.
For people wondering, this never happened. It only an urban legend and has been shared on numerous occasions, even family guy did a parody of this before this show ever came into existence.
Omg i think the most important question here is, how did you make the boomerang come back? Im Australian and havent been able to accomplish that in 33 years 😆
This is the best one since the man who claimed he was a horse. Comedy gold.
Right 😂😂
That was a classic. 🐴
Wow! This is also a first on this show: A business man suing himself for accidental self-injury. Very unusual, if you ask me.
Strangely I do vaguely recall such a case when someone did take themselves to court.
Very unusual but as an accountant I do get it.
Except it’s GARBAGE

This sounded like a plot trying to find a way to LEGALLY embezzle your own company.
Finagle the insurance company... "WORKERS" COMP.
Why doesn't he sue the workman's comp since they must pay him? Makes no sense
Since when do people sue themselves?
I mean i wouldn´t test a boomerang out.... without my GLASSES i need to SEE....
This is almost like a sovereign citizen type of thing. Where you claim yourself to be a corporation
This case actually makes sense. As an EMPLOYEE of a Corporation that pays into Workman Compensation, He is entitled to receive COMPENSATION for an on-the-job injury...
It does. Wonder what the actual law is around this. 🤔 (In case anyone is not aware, this show is satire.)

This was a very interesting case, Judge Porter. It was an injury on duty, not caused by a negligent action. The ruling is definitely justified.
