Don't get stuck playing ONLY the mixo scale, though. Jerry was a chord based soloist, meaning he followed the changes. During live versions you can hear him playing quick changes with the dim parts. He was essentially a sophisticated jazz player.
What a gem to stumble across!! One of my bandmates got me listening to Europe 72 last last year and I’ve been absolutely hooked on the dead ever since!! Incredible quality on this track and I love how you included the mixo scale for soloing. I’m sure I’ll be jamming with this video many many times in the future. Thanks man :)))
Since it costs a lot to win, and even more to lose, You and me bound to spend some time wondrin what to choose. Hi Jeff! Love your videos and the quality of your backing tracks. I use them all the time. I think it might be an A/E after the F#m. I hear the bass go down on most versions.
Great stuff! Question: can you maybe try recording these and leaving out the signature Jerry parts? I ask because when I jam to this song, for instance, its a little distracting to have the Jerry part playing, basically doubling what I'm supposed to be playing.
Sorry about the Jerry part. I put that in just a few tracks just for the intro as a reference to help people learn. Didn't want it to be a distraction. I'll make sure not to add them to future tracks.

I was listening to a Dead and Co version to figure out the song out but for the jam was just doin' my own thing. It's the only time I used a Dead and Co for a reference, but I loved the dynamics of that one version.
thanks for the work and money and time with sacrifice for putting together the real-time Grateful Dead songs/jams/Majic these help, when ripping leads for hours at a time as the anguish and stress of my life drain and recess, sex for the soul I guess at least for me ...thanks for the hardons

Thank you so much for this. You don't know how much it help us intermediate players
No prob, glad to hear it's helpful.
Thanks, man! A friend asked me to join him at an open mic and back him up on Deal. This backing track is perfect for me to work on some solo ideas.
No prob and thank you!
Jeff this is so wonderful, the quality of the track, displaying the Mixolydian Scale with the tonic while having the extended jam. Thank you!!

Excellent stuff! Best backing track I’ve ever heard!

@@JeffWilliamsGuitar you should put in all the parts, the others need to get a looper and record their own tracks as they learn,
@@Jbhyers123 absolutely
Just listening to a Jerry/Merl version of Georgia Stays on My Mind and realized Deal is pretty much the same progression.

What is the meaning of the "p" on 4 and 5 and the triangle on 2,4,6?
Hi Jeff. Is this track available for purchase?
I've got this and all other tracks available for download on my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/jeffwilliamsguitar
A jam and a half!! Great stuff!
Thanks Jake! Yeah, I really stretched that jam! After hearing a great version of Dead & Co that was about as long, I decided to go for it.
@@JeffWilliamsGuitar keep 'em coming!
@@jakethehead281 Will do for sure. I've got some big changes I'm gonna make soon that will make these much better too.
@@JeffWilliamsGuitar can't wait to see it!
Me and the drummer I play with used to always joke about this being the Bulimia anthem. Don't you let that "meal" go down...I'll see myself out

@@JeffWilliamsGuitar The backing track is dope! I'm way down with D&C, gonna have to find that version!
