I'm so glad you did this I have been opening bags like crazy I'm at around 33k bags opened and am just assuming the music box isn't in it anymore. But I did get a polyluminescent I think it's called the green one. Good luck for everyone opening
Ive done a similar pool last year. Except i got no phsopho but did get an ember. Inverted results. Either way its better to just sell bags to the gacha goblins.
I've gotten 3 of the weapon boxes this year which is up from zero since they have added that vendor with new weapons every year. It is about the only thing I could hope to get from these which I am happy for. Also candy corn will be useful for decorations.
Back in 2022 o opened around 5k and got a ember infusion In 2023 i opened around 70k and got a lot of infusions but none above 50g This year i opened 25k until now and still nothing yet
During my first year playing gw2, Halloween was one of the first festival that I encountered and engaged with in the game and I received, not 1 but 2 duckin Ember Infusions haha. Both came from the ToT bags that I received from wvw and pvp ... I wish I had not sold both of them back then, but at the same time, they used to go for 1.2-1.3k during Halloween, so I don't mind as much
@@coffeedart_gw2 2022 it was also my first time playing, 2 months previously to October, I had the 3 first expansions bought lol the ember infusion got me a false sense of what a life-changing item could be. Thanks for the stats! I've been opening them. As a new player this is a good opportunity to level up my Magic Find, with the Essence of Luck. Not sure if there is a better way, but this event has been a huge boost. Also, I fish a lot so the Candy Corn is appreciated. I saw that starting in May of this year the price spiked, and eventually Candy Corn was going for over 1s each? Not sure why that happened, so I'm keeping that in mind. I assume bag prices will go up a lot as well.
you have a few options. salvaging blue unids with a copper fed. make sure you open them before salvaging. salvaging green unids: same deal as blue. this time you want to use a runecrafters salvage o matic. and salvaging ectos. these give you about 100 luck per ecto and about 1.85 dust per ecto.
@@pachabee salvaging ectos is a net loss. personally i just stick to greens. use mats to craft krait weapons and then salvage those int ectos and sell the ectos
You have good advice from ohers here .. green unids is the best method but trick-or-treat bags are great too! keep farming them. Ecto salvage is a net loss so don't go for that right now ... sometimes ecto salvage becomes net positive depending on prices but green unid is the best. Candy corn will go back up in price once halloween ends until next halloween! .. so stock up now!
i never farm gold in this game. but there was ome exception, a couple years ago i was farming the mad kings labyrinth for a week, while watching all 8 seasons of dexter. afterwards i even looked at the best time of the year to sell the bags, i think it was in may. fast forward to may, i sold all my bags and made around 2k gold. decided to lose it all on ectoplasm gambling the day after. good times
Is it? I can see it on my end ... Edit: Yep, I see what you mean ..I'll update the link hold on Edit2: updated .. Hopefully it works now Thanks for letting me know
I have a strong feeling that the rates get adjusted the more you open in a given time frame. For instance, black lion chest keys you get from world exploration always seem to have better luck than the ones you get on the trading post. I think that when you do a lot of a single thing, the game give you diminishing returns, just like when you farm most mobs. Probably wrong I guess, but it feels that way.
It feels that way, but it likely isn't. There is a way to find out though. ArenaNet exists as a subsidiary of NCSoft. NCSoft is based in South Korea where there is an actual patent on the exact thing you're talking about. For them to utilize that patent, paperwork would have to be filed. You can follow the trail if you really want to find out
This is probably not the case. Let’s take BL chests as an example. If you were to open 20 chests and you get one item of decent value like a 50g skin, you’re unlikely to feel lucky, because you’ve invested an amount where you would expect to get at least one rare drop. Even though loot boxes do not operate on a cumulative chance model. However if someone gets one key randomly and opens a single chest, and they get the same 50g skin, they’ll probably feel pretty lucky as the investment they put into that one key would have been far less. This also makes the occurrence memorable, because it’s a rare event and a good story. However, if this same person didn’t get anything of interest from a single chest, they’re less likely to feel disappointed because once again, their investment was low. It’s also much easier to forget a small loss as opposed to a big loss. This is why one off keys seem luckier, because you probably don’t remember the dozens of other one off keys where you didn’t get anything.
Calling it unrewarding makes no sense here because the buy price is dynamic and depends on the market. When would you say it's rewarding? If you get out more than it costs? That would just increase the market price and even out the profit. In the end the cost are very close to the value. If you would factor in the 3350 Quarz Crystals that's another 55g and you get a lot of account bound stuff. If you were lucky and get a high value drop you're probably making some gold. But on the global average the price is just what they are worth. What's maybe not worth it is the time for opening 100k of those. But opening the ones you drop is basically equal to the value / time for selling.
Putting so much trash into the rare category while putting the only valuable items in super rare to compete with the actually ultimate valuable items is the biggest, typical let down of any mmo.
The most annoying thing in gw2 is the excess of crap that you get. I dont even remember getting smth good from killing mobs, its just kill this to farm a little amount of gold, repeat 10x and finally you can buy good stuff. It sucks.
i have had the ember infusion drop twice now and i did not open as many like you said this is how loot boxes work you never know when your gonna hit big.
Grats! Yep luck does play a bit of a role in these. I mentioned in another comment here, but my first Halloween in the game I got 2 ember infusions too and the only ToT bags I opened were from pvp and wvw reward track. Not that many
I opened 5k of them this year and got 2 unique weapons and pretty much nothing else of any real value except more corn and useless crafting mats that I already had 5k of.

Really good and informative video. So basically sell them on the TP instead of opening them. O would higher magic find influence the outcome?
magic find does not affect opening the bags but magic find does affect how many bags you get while farming in the mad kings lab
Do you manually type the drops in the file or do you have a program tracking your drops?
There are a lot of ways you can do so ... datawars2.ie, gw2efficiency farming tracker, blish hud modules. You can pick whichever suits you
