I thought it was a video where we would see //SPOILER// Every time Saito speaked, even through other characters, thinking that there might have been some nice foreshadowing too
I'm re-listening to this and brrr for some reason I get chills at the fact that Saito keeps calling Date "Date-kun." It just seems so polite and childish/unassuming.
same with the fact that saito uses the self-pronoun "boku" which is considered polite and childish instead of using "watashi" or "ore" which is more commonly used by adult men
Genuinely one of the most creepiest characters I've ever played through/seen in a game. The writers/designers/va's ect did such an amazing job creating him, as well as the rest of the game. I always felt uneasy seeing the real Saito pop up but also interested in what he was saying/or doing next.
A detail I personally love, is how differently he delivers the same line on Annihilation and True routes, his line of "I did it! I did it! I got it all back!" Like, in Annihilation, when he says it he says it insanely confidently and sleekly. Which makes sense. This is the route where his plan goes off ENTIRELY without a hitch. Keikaku complete. All that's left to do is yuck it up and gloat in Date's face about it all. But in Resolution, he's SO FUCKING PUMPED and FEELING it when he gives the line. Since on that route, pretty much everything that could have gone wrong for him went wrong up to that point. And he very much DID almost die in Renju's body too. He just barely made it and that rush is hitting him GOOD when he gets back home. Stellar voice directing all around in the game. They really could have just reused the first take of it but went the extra step to redo it with the changed context. Love this game so much.
i made my friend listen to this in a call, i like saito and he hates this fact, but he was having a meltdown over his voice. he was getting into it. so ty for your contribution

I know I'm late to this game but GOD DAMNIT I MISS SAITO/DATE!! Ahhh if only we could of kept that version of him, like what if the psych machine broke and they couldn't switch bodies, I would much prefer that option ah

He got plastic surgery in the sequel to look like saito again since that was his new identity.
