Thank you for your quick reply. In my Vivaro they connected the ground to the body and in your video you connected the ground to the cable and that's probably the problem
shouldnt be issue as all ground is connected. check power going to camera when in reverse with volt meter. If so then its camera settings in stereo . There is different video outputs the unit supports
Hi I have the same reversing camera. At the back, I connected the red cable to the reversing light and the black to ground. From the radio, there is a cable with a yellow rca to connect the camera and two short blue cables, and from the rear camera, there is a cable with a yellow rca and a short red cable. After connecting only the yellow ends, the camera does not work (the image from the camera does not appear) And now the question is, should I connect this red cable to one of the blue ones? THANK YOU
@@RychuJarzynski the short red cable on the yellow rca doesn’t need to be connected as you have connected the power to camera to reverse light. You might need to change camera settings on stereo

But they keep telling me it won't fit. So why they're showing it fitted don't know. Maybe it's something to do with what you had to do in cutting parts out.
If you send a pic of your dash to seller in my description they can let you know if the one I installed fits . Mine was a mates 2017 renault trafic business plus work van. I can’t see your dash being different as the dash is generic and is used in many models as per description. Remove the trim around stereo and have a looks if it’s looks the same around the stereo as in my video . I can only recommended seller i purchased from as I bought a few unit from them and happy with there customer service
Hi thanks for that the only issue I'm having is that it still won't sit in fully when I clip it in theres a 0.25/0.5 cm gap on sides and top and iv even dremmeled alot more out than you have, any ideas?
I have a Renault trafic 2019 lwb premier edition with what is called Rlink radio etc. A few head unit manufacturers have said there's isn't compatible with Rlink. Can't understand there reasoning. As sure ly the Rlink system is in the head unit which obviously comes out
I think rlink is just Renault operating System for there radios . Like sync is for Ford . What they are saying is probably not compatible is that’s the harness is not plug and play . Some modern systems also use optical connectors to factory amp and also connected to CAN as stero can show car info like service history etc . You could probably still fit but will be more manual work and splicing cables etc
Hi, I've installed the same reverse camera as yourself. The stereo has a slight different layout but for the life of me I can't seem to get the reverse camera to operate
@@Charlie-u8v when u put in reverse is screen switching or does it stay as it . In which case you need go into system setting and tell unit there is a camera . If you getting black screen then issue with camera signal or power or camera feed freq ( ntsc, pal , ahd) there is setting for that also
@@Charlie-u8v it’s the hidden menu with passcode probably . Need to speak to seller. Do you have canbus decoder . If not there is a reverse wire you might need to have power to that so stereo knows it’s in reverse . Can’t be sure
Yeah I've spoken to seller but they haven't been much help, it does have canbus. It's android 13 so has different menu layout to what I've seen on yours? Will try look on the menu with pass key. Anything specific on there I should look for?
@@michelpols92 have you double checked all cables attached correctly from oem harness to new harness . If so you need to back to manufacture. Also have updates firmware of unit and canbus to latest just incase . Manufacturer should help u with this

I would take a pic of dash and send it seller in description and see if he has suitable faceplate . The stereo is generic but comes with canbus decoder which you set up for vehical and model. So it’s really facia you need . Not seen the teyes cc3 . If you are going for a Chinese one with carplay . Make sure ram is min 4gb or higher and has multiple processor
Absolutely brilliant video, very well explained. Thank you I have the Mk3 Trafic with the rearview mirror that has the reverse camera built in. Would be interesting if I could use that cam with this head unit ? I cant see a phono connection for this, as it looks part of the loom.
@@aaronag7876 if it’s a video feed on its own then you can try creating an adaptor that goes into rca and check if it works. The activation is via canbus there is pink cable labelled reverse you might be able to use

@@aaronag7876 remember 12 volt or trigger will on be on reverse so make sure car is in reverse. Also regarding loom . I didn’t mean cut the cable but check wiring diagram and put in a temporary pin into female block or use some arduino crock clips to tap off to see if video feed analog

To be honest I have installed a few of these for friends and myself . The ones with carplay and android auto built in they don’t seem to update the app at all . Where if u buy a model without you can use Carlinkit dongle which is both andoird auto and carplay wireless . They also update the firmware and app constantly to keep up with changes .
@@michelpols92 I would say same one as you need 4gb ram minimum. But you can buy dongle separately to add . Message the seller and ask them what’s best option for wireless android auto . Mention separate dongle
What year is your Trafic if I may ask? I have just finished installing an Android head unit in mine but I received a canbus decoder from a brand called "simple soft" instead of your Hiworld. I wonder if that is what is keeping me from some of the functions that I see in your video, like the door open indicator.
@@chrishewlet5471 I can’t remember year but was Mrk 3 . Each canbus manufacturer will have its own protocols hence different features . I can only comment on the on I installed. Open door indicator is linked to canbus but controlled via menu option
@@ishanperusinghe Mine is an Mk3 (X82) as well. I figured the difference might be in the canbus decoder brand. Unless I didn't set up the options in the menu correctly, which I doubt. I'll try and get another decoder.
@@chrishewlet5471 what u trying to get working . Even with my canbus decoder didn’t get a great mapping for steering wheel controls. Follow the update instructions in video to make sure you have latest canbus firmware and for unit
@@ishanperusinghe Just the basics really: door open indicator, rear camera when in reverse, parking sensors, outdoor temperature. That sort of thing. I tried updating the module and it does download the available update but fails when flashing. I did try all available Renault car models on mine but they are all the same. The steering wheel controls work albeit a little lagging in responsiveness.
on your video just before you go in to can bus settings there is a setting for antenna on that might be antenna power req for active aerial worth a check I am assuming you like tech upgrade the speakers and get a kicker key amp fitted a set of beam components and a key amp plus sound deadening to my mates traffic on basic dab factory head unit seriously game changing as the key amp has full DSP that sets its self up ( I'm having one for mine ) ive just bought a mk3 trafic and looking for a suitable upgrade your video has given me a few ideas and I wasn't aware I can get more than 2gb internal storage cheers
@@martinmcguinness9482 even with three power antenna reception is fine . But as mentioned my mate uses dab mainly . The internal dsp is pretty good and makes a difference from factory. When purchasing make sure you get one with at least 4gb of ram . Anything below will mean the interface is slow . For internal storage you can go up to 128gb from the manufacturer I purchased from. One possible upgrade in would do is get a seperete steering wheel controls . I don’t like the canbus integrated one as it’s never perfect for what you want to do .
Hi great video when you add the head unit to basket do you have to add any accessories or does it come with what's needed ( I have added the dab from link and headunit ) and have the amazon part in the basket.

The other is that the reversing camera I ordered for it isn’t working right at all. Comes up but the view is all over the place. Yet works fine on a different screen. When I rig up the one that came with the unit, it works fine. I ordered a camera that sits in the number plate light section. Any ideas on these would be appreciated?
@@FallenCorp yeah so the unit has its own gps software and you can download what u want from play store, tomtom, garmin app etc. But you can also use carplay and android auto for navigation which I prefer as it has live traffic .

The screen is just staying the same (home screen). I've tried going through every setting I can see but I just can't find anything to get it going

Hi mate when I plug stereo the fuse blows in the fuse box, any clue what could be wrong.
Is it the same unit as I purchased . There is clearly a short to ground happening somewhere. Which fuses is blowing
Did your canbus decoder transmit the reverse signal for the camera? I got a simplesoft decoder but this one doesnt

Does the key have to be turned to power on the stereo, or can it be set to power on even when the key isnt turned in the ignition.

Do you need the 4g attachment to get the satnav to work. When I go on mine it just says connect to the internet.

Go to the car's settings and play with the car model until you find one that works with your model.
