Dimash (pronounced Dee-mash) was not actually in the competition that year. He was invited back to the show to sing his signature song SOS as a treat for the audience. He was just 23 years old. Dimash had won the Slavic Bazaar competition in 2015 and SOS was just one of the songs he had sung to win the title. Someone sure pointed you in the right direction with Dimash. Found him in 2017 and never go a day without hearing him. Buckle up because he is the ultimate artist. He is fluent in his native Kazakh, Russian and now English has become common for him. However, he sings in up to 15 languages at this time and does a host of different genres and often more than one in a single song. He composes, he acts, he dances, he raps, and clearly he can sing what may be the widest range today. That being said, this song did not show his whole range. Try Stranger by Dimash which is in English. Also one of his latest videos which he composed, wrote the script, and acted is called The Story of One Sky. It is a 12 minute long mini movie really but it is intense and often hard to watch as it is about war and the need for people to live in peace and accept each other regardless of culture of religion etc. You may need to filter his videos because the often get blocked. Hello from Mexico. Yes, Dimash can sing really low and really high. He has mastered his voice through virtually his entire life, rehearsing and taking classes daily, since he was five years old. Dimash is not just any singer because his wide vocal range covers just over 7 tones, and if that were not enough he can sing rock, jazz, folk, pop, opera, rap and virtually any other musical style using his soprano, tenor or bass vocals. In all my life I never heard, met or knew of any other artist who had the talent that Dimash possesses, since he is also multi-instrumentalist, produces, directs, dances and is an ambassador of peace. i started watching your channel for the home free reactions(i see them as often as i can) but am so glad you've found dimash. probably the best vocalist on the planet, maybe in history. his first solo album went platinum in 37 SECONDS. not only is he an amazing artist but also an amazing person. he donates all the flowers and gifts he receives to hospitals and calls his fans dears because they are so dear to him. all his performances are incredible but my personal favorite is Ikanaide. he sings in japanese and while his voice is amazing,of course, his gestures and passionate body movements take the performance to a whole different level. great reactions!

Dimash is widely renowned across the world as the greatest voice in living history. This song is a cover from a 1970s rock opera called Starmania but has become Dimash's "calling card" he's made it his own and it's a favourite in all his concerts where he varies it just to switch things up a little. Dimash began his classical/operatic vocal training at age 5. He also began his instrumental training at that time. His classical training continued full time through age 25 and he competed in many vocal events during those years. He has a 7+ octave range while the normal opera singer has 3 to 4 octaves of range. He is considered the greatest singer in the world, but you would need to listen to more of his catalogue to see the full spectrum of his vocal abilities. He has also trained in contemporary and pop vocals. His favorite artists? Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, and some opera singers like Bocelli. He completed his Doctoral studies and Dissertation less than two months ago and has now moved temporarily to Los Angeles where he is attending the L.A. branch of the New York School of Fine Arts majoring in Film Directing. He flew out from L.A. yesterday back to Kazakhstan for a few days. It is his grandmothers birthday and he was not going to miss that. He has millions of fans whom he calls his "Dears", all over the world. He was raised being fluent in both Kazak and Russian and his English is improving greatly. Dimash is a very talented singer with an immense amount of control. to hold those head notes (aka. falsetto) and still have vibrato with it takes an insane amount of control to keep it from cracking. The look on your face when he hit his first high note was priceless!!!!! Great reaction!

In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. This particular performance was at the 2018 singing competition called Slavic (Slavienski) Bazaar which is held in Belarus. Dimash (pronounced Dee-mash) was not actually in the competition that year. He was invited back to the show to sing his signature song SOS as a treat for the audience. He was just 23 years old.
Dimash had won the Slavic Bazaar competition in 2015 and SOS was just one of the songs he had sung to win the title. The 2018 performance is a much more polished and mature performance than the one he'd won the competition with.
This guy is one of a kind. Every song he sings is different. He can sing in operatic style, pop, rock, ballad, rap, jazz, soul, ethnic traditional folk and more. Someone sure pointed you in the right direction with Dimash. Found him in 2017 and never go a day without hearing him. Buckle up because he is the ultimate artist. He is fluent in his native Kazakh, Russian and now English has become common for him. However, he sings in up to 15 languages at this time and does a host of different genres and often more than one in a single song. He composes, he acts, he dances, he raps, and clearly he can sing what may be the widest range today. That being said, this song did not show his whole range. Try Stranger by Dimash which is in English. Also one of his latest videos which he composed, wrote the script, and acted is called The Story of One Sky. It is a 12 minute long mini movie really but it is intense and often hard to watch as it is about war and the need for people to live in peace and accept each other regardless of culture of religion etc. You may need to filter his videos because the often get blocked. It is still so worth it to see this mega talent. Top it off with he is a very humble man.
He can go deeper than that and also much higher than that in his others songs.

Dimash has a degree in classical and contemporary singing. Mixing both is the Dimash's way! He declined a position in the Astana Opera in his country because he wants to create this kind of music. i started watching your channel for the home free reactions(i see them as often as i can) but am so glad you've found dimash. probably the best vocalist on the planet, maybe in history. his first solo album went platinum in 37 SECONDS. not only is he an amazing artist but also an amazing person. he donates all the flowers and gifts he receives to hospitals and calls his fans dears because they are so dear to him. all his performances are incredible but my personal favorite is Ikanaide. he sings in japanese and while his voice is amazing,of course, his gestures and passionate body movements take the performance to a whole different level. great reactions!

This song is a cover from a 1970s rock opera called Starmania but has become Dimash's "calling card" he's made it his own and it's a favourite in all his concerts where he varies it just to switch things up a little.

Dimash began his classical/operatic vocal training at age 5. He also began his instrumental training at that time. His classical training continued full time through age 25 and he competed in many vocal events during those years. He has a 7+ octave range while the normal opera singer has 3 to 4 octaves of range.
He is considered the greatest singer in the world, but you would need to listen to more of his catalogue to see the full spectrum of his vocal abilities. He has also trained in contemporary and pop vocals. His favorite artists? Michael Jackson, Lara Fabian, and some opera singers like Bocelli.
He completed his Doctoral studies and Dissertation less than two months ago and has now moved temporarily to Los Angeles where he is attending the L.A. branch of the New York School of Fine Arts majoring in Film Directing. He flew out from L.A. yesterday back to Kazakhstan for a few days. It is his grandmothers birthday and he was not going to miss that. Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art1, you realize your so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. The musicians who accompany him are called A-Studio. It's a Kazakh band that wrote this song in 1998. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion much better 😄.
The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).
