WE used to here them when I was younger as they flew over the North of England on "training" flights, You always knew they were carrying when they had an escort of four fighter jets.
Consider this. I was an Air Force crew chief straight from the west Tennessee cotton patch, one generation from abject poverty and they allowed me, nobody me to work on some these multi million dollar aircraft. WTH? I loved every minute of it and would not trade it for anything.
Quite bizarre watching that big lump of metal climb that steeply. Glad you enjoyed the sights and sounds of these moments I've managed to capture over the years
As an American, I'm definitely awed by the "BONE", especially theB-1's #2 clip as the Dyess AFB,TX "BONE" lights up, BRUTAL!! However as an avid Avro fan I will always love the Vulcan, especially watching footage of "558" in her glorious final flight years but that coastal shot of the two Lancasters is impressive! On my "bucket" list though, is to catch some -15's @ the "Mach Loop"!! Thanks for all of your videos, keep them coming!
Always fun seeing the tiffy delta wing at low level and the way that A400 drags up steep like that was bizarre to the eye. Glad you enjoyed all these moments I've managed to capture over the years 🤗

For me the best footage is 'XH558 Low bank angle turn' this one clip shows just how agile the Vulcan was, they are a massive delta and float for a long time, I know this as I have flown model aircraft for 30+ years and many deltas as they are just a delight to fly. also the footage reminds me that 'less is more' so including the foreground told me what they big tin triangle was doing in the air and just how low it was against the ground. great stuff and well filmed as always. Glad you could appreciate and enjoy that clip and how it was filmed - it's one here that really stands out for me too, I'll never forget that moment peeping over the camera to see it for real and thinking this is gonna be nice and low over the hill. I'd say with four mighty olympus engines behind you, you've always got a fair chance of getting out of trouble losing height in a tight turn like that too 😉
The one thing I loved while serving in the USAF in the 1980s and 90s where the openhouse / airshows where I was station at and other bases I was TDY too. Loved it . Good video, Thanks. 😀👍
Blue Angels is the US Navy's Flight Domonstration Team . The USAF Thunderbirds may be what You mean but, One is not necessarily better than the Other. Both are among the Best of the Best.
Great video. Growing up in the 60's/70's a lot of these machines would be flying overhead. Vulcans, Phantoms, Spitfires, Mustangs, Hunters, Starfighters. Me and my mate Ian would listen for a moment and call out the plane on the sound of the engine and see who had the correct plane. Fun times. Never got see a Lightning go overhead. My favourite machine.
Thanks, pleased you enjoyed watching along to all these moments I've managed to capture over the years Yeah can't beat em flying over your head, glad you get that buzz 👍 That's great game to play guessing the sound, that's when you know you're an anorak 😜
Epic compilation Bob, so many special clips, The static camera for the Blue Angels was very nice, the Vulcan ones are very special, If I'm not mistaken I'm sure the A400 take off might have been the Spanish A400 from RIAT 2019, pretty sure I bagged quiet a few photos of it, as it lifted and banked over from the campsite I was in.
Your pictures and sound are great!! No, they are awesome!!! Thanks for showing me what I can never go see!!! I must find the long versions, because I like to hear the jet till it fades away! GOD BLESS YOU!!! 😃
The B-1B is a different kettle of fish… what a menace of a machine! Not picking a favourite as they’re all bloody brilliant and I’m finding it too difficult to choose already👍🏼😁
Certainly is a mean beast the bone. Thanks for the kind compliments and I'm pleased you enjoyed all the sights and sounds of these moments and had trouble picking a fav 😉👍
Those Blue Angels - I reckon they could singe your eyebrows off. And that U-2 touch and go - I was thinking where's the chase car, and then he comes screeching in from the side, not content to have the pilot have all the fun. Masterful photography.
Love the blue note sounds of the Hawker Hunters. But I don't think they'll be able to replicate the one in the first episode. Absolutely phenomenal video Bob!
Oh that's hard to live up to, that was a real beauty of a blue note 👌 Ah thanks man. Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed all the sights and sounds 🤗👍
Great to hear. Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years 🤗 Plenty more to come 👍
Absolutely love your Blue Angels footage - Definitely my favourite American Display Team, however nothing can surpass the Mighty Vulcan! My Dad was one of the draughtsman @ BAe Woodford who worked on the refueling redesign of the Vulcans prior to the bombing raid on Falklands back in' 82.
Back in the 1960''s and 70's I lived right down the street from South Weymouth, MA Navel Air Station. Each year we all looked forward to the arrival of the Blue Angels for their annual air show at the base. My older brother and I would climb the highest trees on our family farm and watch the entire show as it happened from our runway view to following their flight path over eastern Plymouth County. My favorite was the sound of the WWII dive bombers and the other carrier based vintage planes. Another perk of living close to the base was the show before the show when the Angels and Fat Albert, their C-130, that would arrive on Friday afternoon as the local schools let out. The only negative to living that close to the Air Base was the noise, especially during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I still occasionally have bad dreams of the constant sound of the Jets and the Submarine Warfare Lockheed P-3 Orion's which flew day and night sorties throughout that very stressful time in our idyllic world living in our small farm of only 25 acres. It's all gone now as the base was closed in the late 80's and it's now a shopping mall and our farm was split into a few massive McMansions. Like most I grew up with, we could no longer pay the taxes on the land and it the land was worth so much more. All seven of my siblings are now living all over the US but we all still have great memories of living near the NA Base. Thank you for the good and some not so good memories of seeing the Blue Angels and the constant sound of what a Navel Base sounds like when War is on your doorstep.
Yeah can't beat pure raw engine sounds - glad you could appreciate and enjoy the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years
Nice picks. Good to know you were entertained and enjoyed watching. That Vulcan making a sharp bank low over the hill top was one of those special airshow moments - a real sight to behold
Nice choices! Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years 🤗👍 Those F35A jets looked and sounded wicked blasting on over and the Herc, what a view to be eye level or even above a C-130 in flight. Great feeling!
Beautiful treat and a truly rare sight to see two lancs flying side by side by the chalky white cliffs of Beachy Head. Glad to know you enjoyed watching along - plenty more to come!
07:05 was fantastic to see in real life as I have been using that manoeuvre on DCS. I never thought it would actually be used for real. Excellent video, came up in my recommendations, subscribed 👍👍
Yeah top flying there by the French Rafale pilot, beautiful maneuver to watch. Thanks. Pleased you enjoyed the sights and sounds these moments I've managed to capture over the years 🤗👍
Hi Bob, firstly, what a brilliant collection of aircraft clips is absolutely awesome, I could watch it all day. As for favourites, it's so hard. But Vulcan comes out on top for me. Blue Angel pair take-off was special, as was the noise from the F35'S and Hunters. Best stop now, or I'll end up listing them all 😅 so good 👍
Amazing videos. We Americans often underestimate the combat capabilities of European fighters like the Rafale and the Typhoon. But these clips should put those notions to bed!
Love all these aircraft but definitely more affection for the older generation jets. Obviously the Vulcan but always loved the Hunter. Sad I never got to see EE Lightning in flight. 👍❤
@@bobsurgranny well do you want to tell me then what It is. You don’t have to sweetheart. I’m sorry l assumed it was Bob because of the obvious BOBSURGRANNY , Heidi ❤️🤗😘👍
I'd replace the plywood van floor while the existing one is still intact enough to trace onto it. Then paint it with epoxy paint or epoxy garage floor coating, so you can keep the van smell-free and be able to mop up future spills, grill-dumping grime, etc. But if you want to keep smelling oil, grease, mildew, and whatever, go right ahead. Just remember that you'll have to replace the floor before selling it anyway if you don't want to take a big hit on price/condition. Might as well enjoy the clean new floor yourself in the meantime.
Thanks. Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years 👍 Check out the Series Playlist - ua-cam.com/video/_p442KB-UGY/v-deo.html
Yeah that was a special moment for sure, the way he held the nose down for us at the end of the runway was just fantastic. The rattle in my chest was wonderful 👌😉 Glad you enjoyed watching along 👍
12:30 The U-2 coming in for a touch and go. Then mil power is applied and just as the engine spooled up the a/c lifted off again with ease, actually lept into the air. Some of the more current airframes have the same(very very similar) engine as used in the B-2 Spirit, but just one, not 4. The non afterburning F118 makes around 19,000 pounds of thrust. That's a lot of jam for a jet like the U-2 with an empty weight of 16,000pounds.
I once watched a show at Boscombe Down in the UK when an Australian pilot dumped fuel then looped and flew back through it igniting it in the process, apparently he was the only pilot in the world who would even attempt it I think it was a F14 around 2000ad.
Reminds me of 1976/77 when I worked for a helicopter pleasure flight company. We used to do flights at the Church Fenton Airshow in Yorkshire between the air displays, i sat right next to the runway in a deckchair and as always the Vulcan was the best. Wouldn't be allowed these days 😂
Always impressive seeing those huge glider like U-2 wings hurl the thing on up, some big lift created there! Glad to hear you were entertained and enjoyed all these sights and sounds I've managed to capture over the years 😉👍
@@bobsurgranny Sorry I'm just now seeing this! I have some spine issues and was in the hospital. Videos like yours keep my mind off the pain during each surgery's 9 month recovery. I've had 5. So PLEASE keep making more! Do you have a merch store???
Yeah pretty damn bizarre watching that big lump jump off the deck in that manner. Glad you enjoyed watching these moments I've managed to capture over the years 👍
At 8:03, were you in the churchyard? I was at the latest engine run in September although the howl was behind the trees from the official viewing section outside the hangar - I saw there was a large group of people watching from where I presume you got that video from, how did you get in? Is it ticketed or limited, or can you just turn up on the day?
I note with interest that the righthand engine nozzles on Vulcan XH558 are faired together, whereas the lefthand nozzles are separate and have no fairing. Why is this?
Beautiful seeing the two pair up and fly round the cliffs of beachy head. Glad you enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years
The negative G by the Typhoon was nothing compared to what the Swedes did in the Saab Viggen, ooh that was some cracy pilots, and a avesome aircraft on so many ways at the time
Looked pretty intense there to me, prob the highest neg g pull I've seen. I can imagine the swedes chucking the Viggen jets around too though 😉 Swedes made some awesome jets for sure
@@bobsurgranny sure do. btw, both Eurofighter and Saab Gripen has the brittis aerospace tec, sharing fly by wire systems etc. never seen what the Gripen actually can do, but by tecnical specs, is should do better then all others. Light, powerful, and built as unstable and reactive as possible controlled by computers to make it performe . guess they are not allowed to do these kind of maneuvres at show like they used to do

Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed the sights and sounds of my fav airshow moments I've managed to capture. Plenty more to come!
Love all these aircraft but definitely more affection for the older generation jets. Obviously the Vulcan but always loved the Hunter. Sad I never got to see EE Lightning in flight. 👍❤
Glad you enjoyed all the sights and sounds of these moments. The only place to see a Lightning flying now is South Africa
@@bobsurgranny I saw somewhere they have stopped flying in SA now😢
oh really will have to have a look at that
Didn't thunder city I'm sure that's the company that used to operate out of SA have a bad smash a few years ago and have to fold up.
Just double checked Thunder City had their operating licence revoked in 2010 due in part to poor maintenance practices.
Excellent video. B1 is an awesome aircraft. Enjoy your videos
Thanks. Sure is

Everytime I see and HEAR! Vulcan my brain automaticly conclude: This is it. This is the end! .... What a apocalyptic masterpiece...
Majestic animate beast 💯👍
I always considered the F-4 as the loudest jet I’d ever heard until I heard the bone. My goodness she was loud.
Automatic Like! Ta Bob!
Glad you enjoyed the show 😛
*Hawker Hunter 😍*
Cool video

Wow shyt hot thank you Bob❤️🤗😁👍

@@bobsurgranny Thank you Bob, very kind of you❤️🤗👍
Just to let ya know my name isn't bob - but you can call me that haha
@@bobsurgranny well do you want to tell me then what It is. You don’t have to sweetheart. I’m sorry l assumed it was Bob because of the obvious BOBSURGRANNY , Heidi ❤️🤗😘👍
Great video.👊🇬🇧
Thanks. Pleased you were entertained watching these 👍
Mind was the Blue Angels I love those
They sure know how to put on a show to entertain.
Glad you enjoyed the video
I'd replace the plywood van floor while the existing one is still intact enough to trace onto it. Then paint it with epoxy paint or epoxy garage floor coating, so you can keep the van smell-free and be able to mop up future spills, grill-dumping grime, etc.
But if you want to keep smelling oil, grease, mildew, and whatever, go right ahead. Just remember that you'll have to replace the floor before selling it anyway if you don't want to take a big hit on price/condition. Might as well enjoy the clean new floor yourself in the meantime.
Saw the SR71 do a low level fly-by then shoot straight up. I believe it was late 80's. Nortan ir force base, San Bernardino. Coolest plane ever....
Wow! That must have been wicked. the real deal . Thanks for sharing
Awesome 👏🏼

The Blue Angels don't piss about!
True entertainers 👌
It becomes obvious quickly, that the fighter jet pilots know where the photographers are, and the bomber pilots don't care if you cop the jet wash. :)
Thanks for sharing these amazing videos Bob. Gripen gets my vote!

Amazing❤

I’ve loved the Vulcan since I was a kid but there’s something about seeing four hunters roll together …
Magic seeing the hunters in formation together making their own unique blue notes, what a symphony 👌
B1 He kept that low for you to film they can't help show off their kit awesome. Maybe we should have bought them in the UK
Yeah that was a special moment for sure, the way he held the nose down for us at the end of the runway was just fantastic. The rattle in my chest was wonderful 👌😉
Glad you enjoyed watching along 👍
Orville and Wilbur Wright would be amazed at these high performance jets.
2:32 the sound!!!😮
The Gripen sure makes some sweet sounds 👌
12:30 The U-2 coming in for a touch and go. Then mil power is applied and just as the engine spooled up the a/c lifted off again with ease, actually lept into the air. Some of the more current airframes have the same(very very similar) engine as used in the B-2 Spirit, but just one, not 4. The non afterburning F118 makes around 19,000 pounds of thrust. That's a lot of jam for a jet like the U-2 with an empty weight of 16,000pounds.
Always great watching it hurl effortlessly back in to the air after touching down, sure makes a racket for a single engine too!
I once watched a show at Boscombe Down in the UK when an Australian pilot dumped fuel then looped and flew back through it igniting it in the process, apparently he was the only pilot in the world who would even attempt it I think it was a F14 around 2000ad.
Fantastic! That would have been the F-111
I could easily make a comment about every clip....maybe several per clip lol!
But that U-2 takeoff at 11:40!!!!
That was there with a Harrier! LOL!
Always impressive seeing those huge glider like U-2 wings hurl the thing on up, some big lift created there!
Glad to hear you were entertained and enjoyed all these sights and sounds I've managed to capture over the years 😉👍

Sorry I'm just now seeing this! I have some spine issues and was in the hospital.
Videos like yours keep my mind off the pain during each surgery's 9 month recovery. I've had 5.
So PLEASE keep making more!
Do you have a merch store???
I hate driving, even if the roads are clear...
But if my job was to chase down a spy plane, heck yeah I'd happily do it 😂
Watching the Airbus A400 do a combat takeoff is CRAZY! 17:54
Yeah pretty damn bizarre watching that big lump jump off the deck in that manner.
Glad you enjoyed watching these moments I've managed to capture over the years 👍
that a400m is on creative mode
Great watching them chuck it over like that shortly after leaving the deck
Nothing rattles yer BONES like a B-1B Lancer
💯😛
Vulcan is beautiful. Those engines are comically small looking.
Given the Vulcan was designed not that long after WW2 it’s an incredible aircraft.
Think a lot of folks forget how old the Vulcan actually is, because it looks so futuristic
Church yard yep 👍
I note with interest that the righthand engine nozzles on Vulcan XH558 are faired together, whereas the lefthand nozzles are separate and have no fairing. Why is this?
Got to be the Lancs, The sound of 8 Merlins in close harmony does it evry time, very closely followed by the hunters
Beautiful seeing the two pair up and fly round the cliffs of beachy head.
Glad you enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments I've managed to capture over the years
💖
Glad you enjoyed watching 😛
7:15 Best one I think.
Top piloting by the French Rafale pilot and great to watch that maneuver.
Glad you enjoyed watching 🤗
0:30 was this the other day? I was there when they did a really low take off that looked similar
Yep 24th oct 😉
@@bobsurgrannythat’s it, I was there too.
Aviation porn.... Very nice video, gives me good memories. Pls more to come. Regards from Denmark
Pleased you were entertained and enjoyed the sights and sounds of all these moments
Light, powerful, and built as unstable and reactive as possible controlled by computers to make it performe . guess they are not allowed to do these kind of maneuvres at show like they used to do
1:22 The Gripen kinda sounded like a Challenger 350
