I am aware of the units as used by 95% of mankind ;-) If you've seen the video, you'll have seen the car showing a 306kph max speed. And I was like: I can relate to that! For the rest of life, I've never gone at any speed expressed in mph. Well, maybe a few transfers in the UK, but I was being driven.
As a German it's funny to watch his cautiousness while driving 120mph on the Autobahn... For us it's quite normal to go like 120mph, but he's already nervous by doing only that in a Ferrari :D But I appreciate that you're not underestimating the danger while doing it ;) Love your videos
It's not so much that you need to be afraid of yourself. But the other road participants... there are still more loonatics out there, than locked up in the bin. Plus... if someone gives you their car, you probably want to give it back unscathed, ensuring a good relationship in the future leading to more car borrows.
Omg I can't even begin to imagine what that feels like! My mum's nissan note wobbles at 80, I've never been so terrified in all my life! 😂 Great video Sam! 👏
We Germans normalcy do, we even have to drive past 130kmph in driving school and I had an unrestricted section of autobahn during a lesson and the teacher said floor it and I did and it wasn't dangerous. You do have to look out for foreigners especially on tourist heavy unrestricted parts of the autobahn, because allot of tourist who come here just to drive fast don't know what the f they are doing. At speeds over 200kmph that is just dangerous for everybody.
So cute to see how vigilant Sam is to floor the 488 on the Autobahn. :D For us Germans, driving >200kph/130mph on there is everyday business, even in normal family cars. Give us a Ferrari and we'll floor it first chance we get. :) BTW: Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that it's an unusual and scary experience when you're not used to it. And everything beyond 160kph/100mph also greatly depends on weather condition, track, and traffic. And yes, theoretically, big speed differences can be dangerous. Having said that, the Autobahn is very safe because Germans are used to big speed deltas and heavy breaking if need be, and we also habitually watch out for high-speed cars/motorcycles on the left lane. Thus, most drivers won't just carelessly cut onto it... especially when they see a red Ferrari approaching in their back mirrors. We even have a German word for it: Überholprestige (literally: overtaking prestige). It bascially means that other drivers know how fast your car is and will clear the left lane in order to let you pass. ;)
Of all the people out there who post create content on super cars, you sir are the most authentic and least showing off with a touch of informative. You sir will have my subscription.
Another reason to love Autobahns is. If you are driving over 190mph, so are still need to check your mirrors, because someone is still driving faster than you :D
Seriously, the first 70seconds of this video is more charming than all of the new top gear. Sam and JWW really couldve saved the new series, your charm and dialoge is tv worthy
Nicely Done Sam, at that speed I found it slightly tunnel vision haha but what a blast. Also glad you mentioned about braking distances, so much different at the higher end of speed. Look forward to you breaking the 200mph barrier. It's like the Millennium Falcon lmao 😂
I never implied that it wasn't on the run way but they are legal speeds in Germany on de restricted sections where everyone focuses on the road instead of Snapchatting their friends. Sam was comfortable at 190mph and you could tell he wasn't giving it the full beans. Considering those speeds are done on a daily basis in Germany with few fatal accidents per year I don't think going an extra 10mph on a clear stretch of Autobahn is totally out of reach or extremely dangerous especially given that Sam drives a lot of high horsepower cars and the Germans respect road rules and pull in after overtakes. :)
Recipe for high speed runs: quick car, nice summer sunday morning in south of Germany, getting up at 4 o'clock, the sun shines and you have some brandnew 3 lanes Autobahns for yourself in the light. Hit 196 mph/315kmh in a rental GTR. Was not the max but at these speeds you slow down for anything, small bump, slight corner (at these speeds everythinh is a corner).
Thats what these cars are made for. Not for being stuck in London traffic and 0-30 mph accelerations :) Btw, are you wearing a speedmaster professional or a speedmaster reduced? Looks nice!
matter of fact germany has a indirect speed limit. Many are not fully aware of that or forgot it. you go faster than 130km/h and you are involved in an accident you have to prove it would have happened at 130km/h as well - which makes it pretty hard. So much for the part of "no speed limit"
*FYI FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THE VIDEO YET* The video is purely about achieving that 200 MPH mark. You might believe it's just a part of the video, but that's where you're wrong kiddo, it's all about the speeeeed!
Sam, i just watched your podcast with Joe and the time you uploaded your video in Malaysia is 7.00 p.m. Whih is great because when you upload at 5.00 p.m. UK time, it's midnight for us in Malaysia.
great video, always funny to watch these kind of videos as a german local and beeing completely used to the driving and making many many fast miles per year on it :P
Just another comment from Germany: if you pick the right autobahn in combination with time of day, you can EASILY do 280-320 km/h for quite some distance. Passing stuttgart (you ran underneath the BOSCH airport parking that stretches across the autobahn) at noon on a work day doesn't help...
The sensation of a car feeling rock solid at high speeds is very interesting. I remember hitting 90 in an old honda civic and feeling scared thinking the car was barely holding on the road. A little while I took a Mercedes amg e63 out and I remember hitting 105 with ease and cruising for about a minute with that speed. The car felt like any other cheap car does at 60mph when it was over 100mph. Also that 6.2 v8 kept pulling all the way past 100!
This video just demonstrates how insane top speed of a car is totally irrelevant in Earth's public roads. Followed by the price people pay for Bugatti, for the top speed. Unless your house is next to auto barn, Porsche and Ferraris are perfect driving machines for all the emotions. I am still dreaming to get a 458 even though 488, is out. Let's see when is the mid-point, price coming down on 458s or me being able to afford them irrespective to the time I 'll have to be able to afford one. I hope it's before my 40s :D Great video Sam, congrats!
The fastest I have ever driven a car was 112mph. It was a Peugeot 307 diesel, and tbh it felt rock solid at that speed... The fastest I ever drove my own car (Diesel Toyota Starlet) was just about 95 mph. That was flat out, down a hill. On the flat I believe I got it to 90mph... once. It was seriously sketchy at anything above 75, even in a completely straight line with no bumps, so the day I did 95 in it was a historic day. My mission was to hit 100 before it died, but I never quite managed it. I couldn't find a hill with no corners hahaha
Can we do insane speeding like this in press car?? Just curious. Besides, such an amazing video sam....love yu as always👍🏻 keep hitting up new ideas. Road to 1million👍🏻
SCHOOLBOY!! The hero 5 has telemetry built in!! You could have has the speed guage up on screen with G meter aswell!!! Still love your channel!! 👊🏻 TELEMETRY DUDE HERO 5 ROCKS
Mate today I was in Castel di Sangro and i spotted a 488 gtb behind LOADS of loud and useless Harley Davidsons. An hour later THE SAME 488 gtb was 2 cars ahead in traffic jam... The fate is telling you something, I'm just a medium LOL... Rosso corsa was the color with red particulars in air intakes
"when have you ever been 190MPH"
"on a plane"
good point tbh...
trains go faster too
Faster than that on a train. Decades ago.
I've gone 310 on a German train. Villages shot past like traffic signs.
you went 310 km/h on that German train, that's 192 mph
I am aware of the units as used by 95% of mankind ;-)
If you've seen the video, you'll have seen the car showing a 306kph max speed. And I was like: I can relate to that!

well, I also would be cautious when im doing 120mph(193kmh), especially on a stretch with two lanes
It's not so much that you need to be afraid of yourself.
But the other road participants... there are still more loonatics out there, than locked up in the bin.
Plus... if someone gives you their car, you probably want to give it back unscathed, ensuring a good relationship in the future leading to more car borrows.
myhomie94 right ,I was last week on ulm-munchen autobahn ,cruising 200 kmh pretty casual ,for us is no big deal hahahah
I am casually driving 120 mph on the Autobahn with my fiesta and it's really not that fast if you stay alerted to the drivers on the right lane
gamerforever must be ragging the shit out of it if you're doing 120 in a fiesta
Frankfurt to Darmstadt. Sunday morning. April though October. If you have a car that goes 220mph - you will go 220mph.
Gut zu wissen
Tim Tursonoff Or just the A661 after Frankfurt to Egelsbach
Tim Tursonoff or on the a406 at 6 on a Friday
or the new autobahn going to Aachen !
Oder jeden Tag zu jeder Zeit auf der A31
"More than 190?! When have been more than a 190 mile per hour?"
"On a plane"
XD
The Jkghfg 😂😂😂
He said it with such confidence 😍😍
Top lad right there!
+Mr.PetrolHead i had teh almborghini aventador!!
The Jkghfg I was been over 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ mph (8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ km/h)
Seen Through Glass: We just did 190mph in a 488 on the Autobahn.
Archie Hamilton Racing: Look at my car, it has the wheel on the other side and stuff.
Jeremy Clarkson Hello Jeremy, when is grand tour season 2 coming? 🤣
Jeremy Clarkson did you know it's a corvette?
Possibly November 19th
190mph. job done
NGATUPUNA aslong as I nut that's what counts
Omg I can't even begin to imagine what that feels like! My mum's nissan note wobbles at 80, I've never been so terrified in all my life! 😂 Great video Sam! 👏
In a Ferrari it's pretty relaxed to go like 160mph with this amount of traffic, I guess. Not to compare with doing higher speeds in a Nissan Note :D
Definitely!
Mr Moustache we're doing well between us 😂
Kal El 170mph in less than 300 metres? Fuck off. even on a 200hp superbike it wouldn't be that quick
Emily W I had a Nissan note. dull doesn't come into it
Driving on the Autobahn is quite an experience. I do hope though that everybody uses this freedom responsibly (like Sam) so it stays unlimited.
I'm not German, but that's what I told my wife when she wanted to try the Autobahn, watch out for the foreign number plates :)
So cute to see how vigilant Sam is to floor the 488 on the Autobahn. :D For us Germans, driving >200kph/130mph on there is everyday business, even in normal family cars. Give us a Ferrari and we'll floor it first chance we get. :)

Sam just sell everything, and buy the 488 😉
You know you want to
Bond he never bought a car, he financed all of the cars he had.
he should just sell his dad's new range rover when it arrives and acts like it's stolen again. That and the 570 should do the job.
Hardly anyone ever buys a house then??
If you couldn't finance these things I'm pretty sure they'd all go out of business just waiting for millionaires and people who have won the lottery
Of all the people out there who post create content on super cars, you sir are the most authentic and least showing off with a touch of informative. You sir will have my subscription.
Try your 540 and see how much it can get maybe :)
Wilson Sou. You mean try the banks 540c .. but he won't try because the bank might repo his car for negligence 😂
Money Making Maniac not possible
Money Making Maniac Yes we know that you are you on some kind of mission to tell everyone that he finances his car.. who cares?
Have you seen him drive his own car?, doubt he's ever been above 80 in it.
Am I the only one trying to just tap that downshift through the screen to hear the full potential? 7th...
MultiKorven123 I
I had to cry
Yeah WTF is he doing
Another reason to love Autobahns is. If you are driving over 190mph, so are still need to check your mirrors, because someone is still driving faster than you :D
Farshad's new building @7:47 ey ey ey over here !
Marcelo Twelve eyyyy, what's goin on over here!
Marcelo Twelve what do you mean?
Farshad is trash
Salomondrin is absolute garbage now, vehicle virgins is going that way too
Really great meeting you, Sam! You are a super cool dude and i will see you next time! Have a good one!
Deserves 1mil views this vid....u and mr. Jww r so understated.
truth
7:45 I never expected I'd see you got past Bosch, I've been here so many times before it felt weird seeing it here 😂
Seriously, the first 70seconds of this video is more charming than all of the new top gear.
Sam and JWW really couldve saved the new series, your charm and dialoge is tv worthy
sell the 540c. buy a 488 spider !
you do realize that there is a hefty price gap?
youtube comments dont care about money....however sell the 540 and buy a La ferrari!
He just needs another 100k to do that.
Sam is not rich...
Ryan Lee shmee is actually rich
And another great video STG! :D
Nicely Done Sam, at that speed I found it slightly tunnel vision haha but what a blast. Also glad you mentioned about braking distances, so much different at the higher end of speed. Look forward to you breaking the 200mph barrier. It's like the Millennium Falcon lmao 😂
Man I've always loved your channel but lately you have been on fire! Million subs should be imminent!
Why are people afraid of going over 100 mph , james may , yes james may went 417 kph i just dont get it
elite master 100mph is an everyday speed. I would say 130 plus is more unusual in UK bcos roads aren't really straight for long.
bruh anything over 100 you lose your licence m9
In the states, especially here in VA, you will have your licence suspended more than likely.
I mean like when you are alowed to like on the autobahn or a runway
AWESOME, was a pleasure to watch and listen
Nice meeting you today Sam.
this guy is so watchable. love the Vidz Sam and the 488 !!
Please get a 488 one day😭
holy shit 190! looks like so much fun, great video Sam!
I think a trip back to Germany to hit 200 is video needed in the future. 😜
TheCarGuy18 Why not just go to a runway event and do it without the risk of killing some innocent person on the road.
I never implied that it wasn't on the run way but they are legal speeds in Germany on de restricted sections where everyone focuses on the road instead of Snapchatting their friends. Be honest with you, as a fan for more than six years, 488 is probably the best car for you as well as your channel.
Sensing a bit of a tense vibe between you and your new assistant
Such An amazing video, loved this

How long are you taking to drive this 488 back from Italy ?
I've done this trip in 1 day.
This channel is extremely underrated
Thats what these cars are made for. Not for being stuck in London traffic and 0-30 mph accelerations :) Btw, are you wearing a speedmaster professional or a speedmaster reduced? Looks nice!
Great work Sam, one of your best video yet.
another quality video with great editing
I think this video exemplifies why Seen through Glass is the best car vlogger channel - your giddy laugh was priceless xD
ahahah i'm french, your "francais où est le baguette" got me dying x)
Good to see you're enjoying the Ferrari Stewie. Brian seems to be having fun too.
2:13 “im not go mental” goes 190mph...😂
I'm a simple man, i see Seen Through Glas, i press Like
Nope, i don't really watch him anymore. Only the bugatti video. The content is to serious and stiff

My God. That car just pulls in 7th gear! That torque is unbelievable.

This is videos that I love. He is just great at doing what he does. That's make great content. Props man awesome awesome video!!!!!!
Goodbye McLaren, hello Ferrari. That was one of your best videos...
Awesome video Sam!!!
OUTRAGEOUS... you are outrageous Sir !!!
Sam, i just watched your podcast with Joe and the time you uploaded your video in Malaysia is 7.00 p.m. Whih is great because when you upload at 5.00 p.m. UK time, it's midnight for us in Malaysia.
Gotta love the german AUTOBAHN - unbelievably fast, but still safe. 💪💪💪

@1:29 "ze Autobahn" omg best way to pronounce it ever xD
welllllllllllllll, we all know what Sam's next car is going to be 😉 #ferrariftw

7:09 the look of pure joy..
awesome vid quality as always keep it up
Nice smooth safe driving at high speeds
Creased at when he shouted autobahn😂
5:22 for the best witch laugh award please.
It's funny that Ferrari looked so relaxed at 190 mph. The way I gained speed was just effortless
Imagine how much better this film would sound in a 458! : ) Great vid though as usual.
All Germans are like " ok Dailey business 190mph"😂
you should go to Isle of Man, there's no speed limit there either.
I drove an Audi A6 (station wagon) up to 260km/h on the Autobahn once.. terrifying, but so fun!
big balls alert..... great thing Sam!
You're hilariously crazy in the head "Où est la baggette?"
That's such an epic car!
190mph, 2 up with luggage! that is an achievement!
and full tank of fuel
illusional1 you didn't understand his comment. Try again
That was awesome!!! 🚗💨💨💨💨

Wow 😳 u should definitely get 1 👌🏻
My god at 8:40 ish you're constantly travelling between 100 and 145 and watch the fuel gauge!! Doesn't even move!!! Incredible
Great vid!, 190mph seemed childs play, what a car!
Yoo great to see Joel wignall in the video mad to see someone I know
Last time I was this early I was waking up at 4:30 in the morning
If you swich to the race mode it will accelerate faster
You drove the shit out of that Ferrari. Good for you!
Was this filmed on friday or something? I thought trucks weren't allowed on weekends in germany?
SCHOOLBOY!! The hero 5 has telemetry built in!! You could have has the speed guage up on screen with G meter aswell!!! Still love your channel!! 👊🏻 TELEMETRY DUDE HERO 5 ROCKS
Can you please say if you're the next time in the Allgäu ?
The rear view mirror looks like it's come out of a Dacia Sandero! 😂
Since your Abarth has Ferrari paint, does that mean it also has Ferrari performance...
Ferrari Paint= 200MPH +
High speed Abarth run needed to test!
At a cost of over $275K and todays tech, I don't find it amazing at all that this car can reach those speeds
The 488 is such a fun car to drive. :D
Fortune favors the brave , I got to 160MPH in my E63 on an airstrip. I'll take to Germany to see what I could get out of it then.
Hello one and all and welcome to Captain Slowly :)
Great video, I can only imagine what that must have been like!
You really should have stopped in Stuttgart for around an hour or so, like James did - would have been epic to meet you guys :(
there may be no speed limit on sections of the Autobahn but if you have an incident at more than 130 kph (yes kph) the insurance may not pay up!!
Newsflash - it's a Ferrari press car? They'd gladly pay the tab or they wouldn't let him run off across Europe in their $300k car...
I had no idea it takes so much preparation and noise to drive an Autobahn in a Ferrari.
sam, i told james before.... get ultimate 102 from aral! it's awesome
What do 488's sound like with aftermarket exhausts? Ive never really liked the idea, but on this car, I'm wondering whether it might be suitable.
Digging the French accent Sam! Haha
