I've said it before, but I LOVE your slow & easy, back roads, small towns with 'hidden treasurers' way of traveling. Leave the fast-paced highways with crazy traffic and big cities to others. Your videos are relaxing, enjoyable and stress relieving ones. THANK YOU for doing them this way.
I really enjoy watching your UA-cam Channel, Russ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 The 2 museums are great. The cuckoo clock is amazing. As always, I wish you safe travels and I wish you the best. Talk soon, Alan.
Thank you Russ. A great decanter museum. Love the Order of Moose and Queen Nefertiti, king Tut's mother. So many years of collecting beautiful decanters. I will have to watch that again and see if i see more of the names. And the cuckoo cl9ck from 1850's. Wow. I love tye snall tiwn colourful museums, history andclove the homes too. Thank you so much for our histiry lesson of the towns and Switzeland. Amazing. Carolyn and Colin from Osoyoos B. C. ❤
The Tyrolean Alphorns - Wow! It's really unusual to see these outside of Austria-Germany, as they're obviously kinda awkward to pack in a suitcase. Ha! You've seen the guys in Austrian short pants and hat, doing the knee-and-back-slapping dancing, horns, accordian playing, etc. They also blow these horns, as they did in the Alps. Oktoberfest, indeed. Makes me wonder if there used to be a local group that performed as they did in The Olde Country, perhaps at annual town festivals. WHAT a cool video. Thank you, sir!
Love the "trip" to the museum! I have a British friend visiting next year and that museum looks like a great place to take her on our trip to Amish Country!
I love this decanter museum! I love to see things that my grandparents and great-grandparents had. If I could go back to the 60's when I was a kid, at my great-grandfather's house, where my grandparents also lived, it would be a museum, today. Carved wooden furniture, old clocks, and yes.....decanters that were very interesting, though I remember one that I felt looked creepy. It was a face of an old guy with one eye closed and had a cigar hanging out of his mouth. Yikes! As a kid, that looked ugly. There was even a victrola, and my great-grandfather, who didn't speak a word of English, would crank it up and play his 78's. The old black and white TV that was also carved wood. The house had stained glass windows in the stairwell and there were even pocket doors in some of the walls. If only I could go back and get some of that stuff!
Fantastic visit to the decanter museum in Sugarcreek. To bad, the cuckoo clock is failing due to weather and age. That copper kettle was impressive. My grandmother had a much smaller copper kettle to make apple butter. I am enjoying your trips through these small towns in Ohio. Thanks for the visitations.
Love the sound of those train horns off in the distance. Takes me back to my childhood days spending the summers up north visiting relatives. Thanks for the content Russ!
I remember you visiting once before when I saw that big ole coo coo clock. But that decanter museum was epic. I remember my Uncle JC having decanters like those. So cool!!!
Wow, Sugarcreek is a real treasure. A giant cuckoo clock, a local history museum and that amazing decanter collection, what more could a road tripper ask for? Thanks for showing it all off.
Hi Russ; my wife and I travel here once a month for a day trip, a great place to go to is walnut creek cheese for lunch meat and cheese , great baked goods. another in berlin boyd and wurthmann restaurant for lunch. so many amish shops and antique stores to look at. and explore.
This is awesome! I grew up in Dover/New Philadelphia area. Graduated back in 2007 in Dover. The place you stopped at was a Mernards not a Lowe's. Lowe's is just on the other side of New Philadelphia, located near New Town Mall. That use to be an old K-mart there back in the day. I still make my way around down that way to visit friends.
I remember when the cuckoo clock was at the restaurant in Wilmont and worked perfectly. They also had a room full of cuckoo clocks for sale. The village is small but the museums are worth going to. Helen Georgia is a recreation of an Alpine Village many, many times in size. Google will show it. Found this year's ago. Also worth the trip. 👍
Ohio...Don't know if I'll ever make it there. Thanks for bringing me along for the road trip... I was wondering what happened to your side camera?? It would be nice going through all these areas.
P.S. We’re always interested in your trips to stock up on provisions. In this video, we saw that cool QUAKER movie theater and awesome historic courthouse. You should always take us along! 👍

Lovely town, Sugar Creek Ohio. 1st Museum: Talk about a labor of love. Even the big display cases are handcrafted and matching. Wow. Safe travels!

About 19 minutes into the video, what a darlling town! And those decanters and mugs at the 45 minute mark of the video!
