i think this is a great interview, i love how the interviewer is having a very candid and casual conversation with homer about being an artist, and homer responds in kind. btw, how fucking good are the residents??? i discovered them when i was 11 and they were the most intriguing thing ever!!
For people who wonder: The interviewer lost both legs due to a grenade that was placed under his car (People still have no idea who could have done it and why) but people assume a lawyer who owned a car in the exact same color and almost the same license plate was the actual target but they mixed up cars_
I could listen to him talk or read out loud literally anything for hours. Imagine working at a shop or diner he frequents, you get to have exchanges of good morning or hello and talk about the weather, you know, real casual.
Looking at comments from here and from the residents Facebook, there seems to be a real interesting impulse to defend the “game of obscurity” which I think isn’t necessary. Does everyone need to wink all the time? Challenging ideas is kind of in line with the residents. And I really like how close this dude leans into homer, it’s almost Lynchian feeling to see him talk in that intimate way with that guttural and sensual voice! Good interview
Don’t understand the negative comments here. Two artists talking about great art, but the interview needed to be twice as long if you are going to cover the residents career. Homer is the champ at keeping his grace here, but he is passionate and lucid.
whether you care about this guy or not, one thing is certain: flynn is undoubtedly a firm believer in the residents' project and art. just by the way he talks about it, you can tell he has a very deep understanding of their messages and mythology
Man your urge in interrupting Homer is quite obvious, unprofessional and annoying at terms - Nevertheless thanks for doing the job. ( i stopped watching half way)
"The interviewer keeps talking to Homer as leader of the Residents which he is, but for the viewers in public Homer is their Spokesman, the interviewer has an odd like mannerism,no disrespect to his disability, but he the interviewer is not an easy person to be interviewed by."-😆. 🌐📱📻🌐.
Las intervenciones del loco este son paupérrimas. No deja hablar a Homer. Por otro lado, sus preguntas son lo más cliché del mundo, fueron formuladas una y otra vez. Una pena, tiene a unos centímetros a uno de los más grandes músicos del rock.
Dude! Homer is Homer and Randy is Randy. It doesn't matter who is who or who did what. It's about Art and not about the People behind the Art. You are missing the whole point there.
"this man in the wheelchair no disrespect to him but he needs to be a great interviewer to talk to people and this seems to be his first interview he seems to be on medication or something who is he anyway;he's not only annoying he's also kind of eerie and creepy don't like to talk bad about disabled people but it's not his disability it's his demeanor he said he lost his legs by being attacked I wonder why he was attacked was he being creepy and annoying to someone I would believe that .... I also think he was a friend of Homer who was pretending to be an interviewer because he was seen with the Residents on several shows of theirs."
The Residents are unique and their music and art is revolutionary. Their legacy is be enormous. True artists.

Great Interview !
Huge fan since the 80s - Thank you for continuing to open a door many artists can't even get through.
I could listen to him talk or read out loud literally anything for hours.

What a cool ethos! "They're not excluding anyone" from being a Resident.
Plus, "I Am a Resident" turned out great.
WOW! Homer kept his cool through that interview! Poor guy keeps getting cut off a lot!
What a lovely interview. Put a smile on my face.
I LOVE the constant references to "them"...
Incredible voice artist! Even when he speaks his voice has so much weight. Great interview! Peace Christo 🎶👽🐕🛸😉💀🙏
Interview Homer Flynn, huh? More like interRUPT Homer Flynn!

Most fans know who is who and don't really care about the obscurity anymore

Exactly! I like the interviewer alot and the discussion they have (10 min in atm).
LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE RANDY... i saw live twice THE RESIDENTS, i´m a fan since the 80
whether you care about this guy or not, one thing is certain: flynn is undoubtedly a firm believer in the residents' project and art. just by the way he talks about it, you can tell he has a very deep understanding of their messages and mythology
If i had the chance to interview Homer, I would screw up.
A good interview. Greetings from Italy.
Great interview, thanks for sharing!
The interviewer is in a wheelchair. He has no legs, but homer does. Is that what you meant?
Love the residents!
Love Homer.... Love Randy... He is like dr Jackyll and mr Hyde ... ❤❤❤❤....
Homer is the man. Thank you for this!
I love this!
The antithesis of the Rock and Roll icon.
Wow this is the most recent interview yet!
Jeez, we all need to end up here at some point😮
Lesdisquesducrépuscule
Huh?
Lesdisquesducrépuscule
Les Disques du Crépuscule was a label innnnnnnn brussels
Oh sure, right.
Wunderschonen!!!!
Very bizarre interview. Perhaps he is just excited and interrupts a lot?
posted one or two days after hardy's passing
The interviewer interrupts Homer Flynn WAY too much. Let the man speak!
Man your urge in interrupting Homer is quite obvious, unprofessional and annoying at terms - Nevertheless thanks for doing the job. ( i stopped watching half way)
Cl4rendon Not to mention a refusal to play the game of obscurity
Spam Mule Hair Fish yeah that’s the most annoying part - like it’s a sort of inside joke or something
Me too. Quit asking the same question over and over. The Residents are not about me me me. It's the art, not the deliverer.
Homer is Randy for sure!! I am not blind! LOL!
"The interviewer keeps talking to Homer

TIL Homer Flynn has tiny feet.
perhaps, but more aptly, Homer has magnificent, beautiful ears!
I'm confused, is he Randy and is he the lead singer in many The Residents songs? ( Hello Skinny, Kaw-Liga, Don't be Cruel, etc)
Homer is randy for sure
Dude! Homer is Homer and Randy is Randy. It doesn't matter who is who or who did what. It's about Art and not about the People behind the Art. You are missing the whole point there.
@@maximum_mueller9922 I think anyone whose a fan can tell who is who, and its fun that Homer keeps up the charade
"this man in the wheelchair no disrespect to him

Other comments have answered the legs question. Doesn't take much research.
This is clearly a battle of the ears.
Best band ever. Only the Sex Pistols come somewhere near.
And maybe Devo.
