- I finally a had a chance to watch all 3 of the original theatrical Digimon films with their brand new English dubs released on Blu-ray by Discotek Media. So, how do they hold up? Are they any good? Especially compared to the American Digimon the Movie? Find out in this video! Movies Reviewed:

Fun fact: Movie 3 (Digimon Adventure 02 Hurricane Touchdown) is directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi which directed 2 of the best Dragon Ball Z movies (The Legendary Super Saiyan and Fusion Reborn) and 3 Saint Seya movies.
That’s so iconic! Thanks for the tidbit. I will give Movie 3 one thing: the animation is directed so well and now it’s no wonder!
@@dillynsden Still the weakest Digimon movie btw, too long and the music of Takanori Arisawa (who overall was a great Japanese composer for the anime series of the Japanese version of Digimon) is rather strange and uninspired in this one unfortunately.
Anyway i don't know if this american label is going to release also the other Digimon films (Return of Diaboromon, the 2 Tamers movies, the Frontier and the Savers movies) but those movies are all better than this.
I absolutely agree with you there and it’s great to hear that the movies after this one are better! I was really curious about that. I really hope they release the other films too because I’d love to watch those with a new dub too
I honestly don't remember the Digimon movies, though I did watch at least the first two when they came out. I know I have the first U.S. released one on DVD.
But I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I especially like that you acknowledge it's okay to like part of a franchise and be disappointed with another part and not feel like the entire creation is ruined. Too often I see people talking about a series of films, or books, or what-have-you, and one of them disappoints them so they discredit / discard the whole.
As for why the different posters in different countries, the only answer I can give on that is marketing. Fox, as I understand it, was in charge of distribution in the U.S. market for the original film. I don't know how they used to do focus groups for kids film posters, though. Maybe what appealed to parents, since they were the ones paying?
Thank you so much! That's such a great point because so many people on the internet jump to demonizing an entire franchise over 1 little thing they didn't like. It's honestly so unhealthy to consume media like that. That's true love for a property though: when you criticize something it's because you want it to be better and know it can be. But it's not evocative of the whole picture! I think more people need to believe that.
That's great you still have that DVD! It's hard to get ahold of today but the Blu-ray is an excellent upgrade! And yes you are correct, Fox distributed the film here and I would love to know who they commissioned to make the poster art. I feel like there's an entire video's worth of story just on the poster!
Haven't seen the Blu ray of the three movie with the new dub. But have seen the three with the original Japanese dub years ago online. And based on your review, the first two is still great as individual, but it seems that even with the new dub, the third movie is still feel boring or so. I actually love the third part of the America Movie (Hurricane Touchdown) more than the middle part (War game). But when I saw the original for Hurricane Touchdown, I felt like it was very depressing. I think I will stick to my America Version when comes to Hurricane Touchdown. But with the other two, I am happy it is still great in this Blu Ray. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on movie 3! It’s very interesting to see people are kinda down on this one but overall still appreciate it in someway. Thank you so much for watching!
Yeahhhh
