I was shocked when I saw this bike for sale at Costco for $299 last year. I thought, there is no harm on giving it a try, if anything Costco has a very generous return policy if I am not fully satisfied. I was thinking the bike has to be cheap given that price point. To my disbelief, the bike ended up being amazing and still gives a tough competition to higher priced ebikes. Costco increased the pricing to $329 in store and $349 online. This is undoubtably one of the hottest selling e-bikes ever built. Many of you have said you bought a Jetson Bolt Pro for your kid or relative and ended up loving it so much that you bought several more for everyone.
Price is not the only factor that makes this bike addicting and such a good deal. The bike features 350W hub motor that helps with up to 15 degrees incline and much better than the typical 250W motors we see in other electric bikes. You can pedal to use this e-bike as a regular bike and if you get tired you can turn on the motor power. This bike features mechanical disk brakes, which are much better than rim brakes in my opinion. The Jetson Bolt Pro has 14” wheels. The portability of this bike is another big plus. It folds and unfolds very easily. You just have to unclip this mechanism on the handlebar stem. It also has a convenient carrying handle. . At just 41 pounds, this bike is one of the lightest ebikes in its class. It fits well inside a sedan like my Tesla model 3.
The unfolded dimension of this bike is 46.5”x19.3”x38.6” and the folded dimension becomes 46.5”x19.3”x23”. It has a max weight limit of 265 pounds. The recommended age group for this bike is 12 and up. Even though the bike is quite small, I have been told by some of my subscribers that they are over 6 feet in height and still use this ebike on a regular basis. They had to purchase and extended seat post.
It features a 36V 6AH lithium-ion battery that can give you up to 15 miles of range in full throttle and 30 miles with pedal assist. Speaking of which, you don’t have to use the full throttle all the time, you can pedal and just get some assist from the motor on doing so. It has a speed limit of 15.5 mph. More on the speed limit and increasing range later in the video.
The jetson bolt pro has a power button the left side and also a mechanical bell. On the right side, it has a display that shows battery level, multifunction button that activates headlight and cruise control and a twist throttle.

I don’t have this bike specifically. Actually bought the Metakoo M1 Ebike as a 10 month sober gift to self. Currently am closing in on 15 months sober. But all and all it’s a lot like the Bolt. A lot of same specifics. Weighs 33 lbs and folds up. So very convenient foe storage. I carry it up and down two flights of stairs every morning and evening. I really enjoyed your video. I’m thinking about speaking with a friend about possibly purchasing the bolt. He currently rides a 21 speed mountain bike that is aging. So thought this bike would be a great price and good quality and a nice convenient source of transportation for him. Thanks again for the review and all the time you put into your videos. They are great. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

I enjoy using my Bolt Pro to make courier deliveries, and i'm damn good at it. My customers are always wowed to see me come in as fast as I do on this little bike with their meals still hot, & 100's of deliveries (and generous tips) later I'm going strong. Jetson really went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met and have provided me top notch support from the gate.
Love this bike, and it's customization capability. For diy geeks who love modding or improving their stuff, because this little cheetah has tons of potential with many affordable parts from various brands. They might be seen as an inexpensive toy to some on passing; They're much more than that.
Also I recommend getting a Stop A Flat Tire, at least for the back wheel to save you the trouble.

Great vid! I just bought a 12in. Wheeled axle version by jetson 2wks ago. Got it from target at the price of $429. Speed is great and battery so far holds up even with full throttle at 15mph around half hour to 45min. Range is great upto 18 miles and 30 miles of pedal assist. Brakes work too good since i had an accident 8 days ago. Flipped over the handlebars as i tried stopping to avoid a another rider ( my nephew) . Checked for damage and nothing really except a minor scratch on the right brake lever. What I'm trying to say is, this bike is built super tough and the overall enjoyment i have riding it is a thrill. I'm a 51 yr old guy over 180+lbs and this bike moves fast over 15 mph. Jetson out done themselves making these bikes. Btw.... I'm ok after that accident. Thank goodness for protection gear. Thanks for the review and hopefully mayyyybe in the future do a review on my bike if you ever got one. Only see a few vids of this bike and not really a insightful info about it. Thanks

I got lucky. I bought this bike refurbished for $200. $214 if you include tax but it was free shipping. I thought that the bike would come in worn out but to my surprise, the tires were brand new, and the range (throttle only) is 13 miles +. So its practically new. I have put on 530 miles so far the past almost 2 months and this is the best purchase I have made on a bike (Ebike or not) ever!! I do groceries/errand/going to the gym/going to bike trails with this bike. Its awesome. Still cannot believe I bought this for $200. which is the cost of some e bike battery alone.

I grabbed one of these at Costco. They cost $400 up here in Canada but that's still a fantastic price for an e-bike. I've already used it once to commute to work and it's fantastic! What really surprised me is how great of a pedal bike it is. I actually pedaled most of the way, only having engaged the motor about half a dozen times. It's comfortable and easy to ride. I honestly don't know how they did it for the price but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. You really can't go wrong for the price, especially considering that it just works and at only 40lbs, it's REALLY easy to carry.
I was initially skeptical when I saw it because I thought to myself "How good can an e-bike be when it costs less than most electric scooters?" but, an elderly couple was walking past me and the woman said to her husband "Look honey, our bikes!". I thought quickly and asked them "Is this a good bike?" to which they both nodded and the woman said "Oh yes, we love ours and they were on sale for $100 off when we got them!". Well, I sure didn't expect a sale to happen again considering the cost of gasoline right now but I grabbed it and threw it into my cart. One of the best decisions that I've ever made because I'm going to get a LOT of use out of it. The thing is so much fun to ride that I was actually bummed that it rained today because I wanted to ride it. The rain stopped and if it doesn't start again before I go to lunch, I'll drive home and ride back. I love it THAT much! 🥰😛😍😆😁👍

Also I would like to share a very important safety tip about adding a kids cars seat or accessories for a 2nd person. DO NOT DO IT! I added a kids seat to the back of my wife's Jetson Pro and even though my 2 year old is 25 pounds and wife is less than 200, our 1st attempt to ride went horribly bad. It was too much weight and the bike tipped backwards. Wife hurt her hand but thank God my little girl and wife are OK. So what I have found to be the safest method and works well is to attach a bike trailer and attach to the seat frame. Haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps someone else. This bike is the reason I found you UA-cam. I had to change a tire. I have 4. I use it to travel to work. About 35 mi per week. I had 2 that had electrical problems and would shut off when turning. Jetson replaced both under one year warranty. Jetsons shipping is terrible and I had to return several bike before I finally got 2 that did not get damaged in shipping. Jetson is not always responsive but I got lucky to find a rep that stuck with me. I like how compact the bike is. It makes it easy for my wife and I to put 2 of them in our car and travel with them. I saw your review on ENGWE bikes. That has made me interested in their bikes for more distance, a bike with shocks and something with a bit more speed.

Aloha from Big Island of Hawaii,
I just bought a Jetson Bolt Pro from Costco & I like it. Where I live it is a little hilly & at 63 I'm not able to go up the hills on my mountain bike as easily as on the Jetson. But most importantly it fits in the trunk of my hard top SC430 Convertible, with the top up. Probably would fit in my back seat with top down since the box it came in fit when I first bought it. Certainly has given me more options for instance: If my car has to go to a shop for service, I don't have to stay & wait, or look for a ride. I do recommend be careful riding it until you get used to the way it rides, the weight distribution is different than a regular bicycle. Definitely worth the $329 it costs..God Bless & Ride Safe.

Thank you for this. Passed by them in Costco today and thought "hmmm, maybe my kid can bike to school instead of my driving him." Will be picking one up tomorrow based on this review, and the 90-day return policy. My hesitations: he's 14 and 5'10" in a spurt. It might end up too small for him. His school is 2 miles up a big hill (and down again) in traffic. He loves to take things apart to see how they work, and then sometimes they don't. I think you might be a good influence on him :)

@@wakawaka1976 Thank you for the question.
My son has grown another inch since the last communication. He burned through the brakes on this e-bike in 5 weeks on our hills. He's hard on things in general, but that was just too short of a life for me to justify keeping this and replacing brakes every 5 weeks.
Plus, the handlebar issue was concerning safety-wise. This bike needs 2 hands on deck at all times. No hand signals. Other than those -- if you have a flatter environment and a leisurely route - it was great!
      I don't recommend it as a commuter.
Returned it, and ordered this instead:
      (significant price point difference)
      arielrider.com/products/kepler?gclid=Cj0KCQjw-pCVBhCFARIsAGMxhAdB16slPJP-zkvuCROb960jswEZyDqq0-qTqn0rfh6BB6ObibN1MsUaAohDEALw_wcB
I do have to say, it was the perfect little intro e-bike to get me interested in them. It was fun! I fell a couple of times off of the line because the torque was amazing and I was not prepared for that (not a bad thing, once you get used to it. Really fun in fact).
For the price, and for what it is, I don't know if there is anything comparable. If you're taking smooth around-town trails and just tooling around, it might be great.
For what I want it to do, and for how hard my kid is on things -- it just didn't hold up.

I grew up in the 80's. My up bringing was piss poor, nobody was driving me anywhere. I had to go on school buses, city buses & metros to go to school & back home.
Costco, Electric bikes & huge stores like that didn't even exist. It was mom & pop shops & things costed a fortune.
Anyways I recommend you pay about $2000 & get your kid a way better electric bike that goes 32km/ hr & a 70-100km distance before you recharge the battery.

Extra lights and reflectors for visibility. Also added sideview mirrors and a handlebar extension rod so that the additional headlight can be placed exactly in the middle instead of the side. Might get a waterproof hard shell bag mounted on stem and/or a cage for my rear rack, as I need a place to hold u-lock and cable.

These style of bikes are very good, I get lots of comments about my one, but the one thing I would recommend is to change those handle bars, I found the original bars really uncomfortably low and they affect the way the bike handles, by changing the handle bars to something a little taller I have noticed an huge improvement in handling.
It's a very good little bike with a few modifications, I have found myself using it way more than any other bike I have had putting on the miles rapidly.

I like its value. Trying to get an ebike for under $500 is really hard. The build is very good too. I feel secure riding it. The only caveat that I would say to that is if you are tall or big. I am 5'11" and 200 pounds and I can still ride it but I find it a bit like trying to ride a child's bike. It's not much of an issue when I am using the thrust but trying to pedal is not the most fun but not terrible either. Also, the pedaling is geared for a rather slow pace, like under 10 mph. Good luck pedaling any faster than that, you'd look like a cartoon character. Regardless, it is definitely a good bike, especially for the price.

There is 3 same bikes with different branding on them - 'Jetson', 'DYU' and 'Kugoo' I have 'Kugoo' Kirin V1 which is same like Jetson Bolt Pro but has 48v battery, 48v controller and 400w motor but chassi and else is the same. From youtube Jetson goes up to 15-16 miles, I'm 95kg (210 pounds) weight and Kugoo carries me at max speed of 35km/h (21-22mph). A bit of a design flaw on all 3 of them is that front light is placed at the non turning part of the bike frame, so when you turn - light shines to other side and not where you are turning... a bit useless IMO so, I just use my trusty ridden in rain and drop tested Future Technology Evolva X8 bike light which is very bright for its compact size.

Where can I get the extender for the seat? My son is 6' 1" tall... Will he be too big for this bike?
