    Hello Jessama. I really want to Thank You for all your videos. I have been watching an preparing myself for my first time to work with polymer clay. Yeah, I have made several things with PC but not to the high quality like you continue to show us beginners. Well, today is the day! I have enough product and tools to actually start. Wish me some luck, I can only hope that what I end up with is even a tenth as nice as what you show us . Many thanks for your well prepared and well explained videos. You are a polymer clay goddess!

    I love the technical side of your video - lighting. Your hands do not have distracting nail polish. White sleeves and white board - all help viewer to focus on content of tutorial. I wish more people would follow your production style!

      Thank you for saying this. I'm starting my new channel soon with DIYs and now I will make sure not to do anything flashy with my nails. It does indeed take away and distract from the video.

    Awesome! I am new polymerclay , resin and several other mediums. You and three other demonstrators, I could watch those tutorials all day long. They are beautiful. Since I have become disabled I needed to find something to help generate at least a small income and I think I have found it. I go to bed thinking about it, I wake up thinking about it and all day long. Lol. This will also help me raise funds for the disabled once I start selling my creations I am taking a portion to donate to the disabled. Keep making these really neat creations. Thank you!

    The first person I ever saw do mokume gane was Donna Kato. Late 1990 or very early 2000's She was on the american tv show "Carol Duvall". Donna was a frequent guest and friend to Carol. It was a pretty nice crafts show that showed alot of polymer, including Skinner right after she developed the blend, and many other "stars" of the polymer world. I enjoyed watching your video. Very pretty color blends

    Mokume gane is an old Japanese technique that was originally used on metals 😊

  • @jewelvibebabo
    @jewelvibebabo 7 років тому +1

    Very interesting indeed and well presented.Thank you for sharing.I do not really have much interest in polymer clay,per se,but the techniques you use can,I believe, be used in metal work.The polymer clay is much more easily worked than metal and so can be used to test- out different patterns and ideas quickly.Moreover it occurs to me that a nice fine-silver surround on some of the patterns you display should produce a nice over-all effect.I need to think a little more about this.Sounds interesting.

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  7 років тому

      Yes. I'd love to see this done with metal. I do plan to move into metal clay a few years down the road. It's a bit expensive to start with now, so I'll practice my skills using polymer clay. The two really would go together nicely.

    Please tell me how do you slice so easily. Whenever I make anything I have to slice my blade drags🙁 I have sharpened my blades & put in the refrigerator but no help!

    • @JessamaTutorials

      What brand are you using? Does your blade have nicks on the sharp edge?

  • @marystoddard9138

    Just wondering how you have much to slice as you’ve flattened it out so much. How thick is it?

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  6 років тому

      I slice until I like the pattern I get. This differs each time. I flatten it out to about 9mm thick.

    Hello .can u pls advice on a good and reasonable pasta machine to buy for tjis art? Tia.

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  6 років тому +1

      I buy $20 dollar pasta machines off of ebay or amazon. You can get an Atlas, but it's cost much more and the blades will give out just as quickly as a cheap machine. www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_price-asc-rank?keywords=pasta+machine&fst=as%3Aon%2Cp90x%3A1&rh=n%3A1055398%2Cn%3A284507%2Cn%3A289754%2Cn%3A289790%2Ck%3Apasta+machine&qid=1522485426&sort=price-asc-rank

    Why do you not wear little finger cots? They look like little tiny condoms and you just put one on each index finger, and thumb. Not so bulky like gloves, and no worries about fingerprints. 💕

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  6 років тому

      I have tried using finger cots, but I still find them irritating. I like to use them when I have fiddly finishing to do, but I like to use my fingers. Just a habit of mine I guess. Thanks anyway. :D
