Another analysis no one really asked for:
I think TTJ challenges viewers by introducing a “vibe” into MTG that many folks aren’t used to/have never seen in their fnm. I suspect it turns a lot of people off, but as Magic becomes more popular we have the privilege of broadening what we define as the “mtg vibe”, and that can include people who challenge the previously stagnant magic nerd stereotype.

It's more than that. End the Festivities should have done 2, L-bolt does 4, etc. Even tapping your own painland hits you for 2 instead. Not sure if any of it would have mattered exactly, but it's notable.

I agree. I'm very new to commander so my learning comes from commander channels. I subscribed almost immediately to all the commander channels in my feed.

@@TabletopJocks My own little theory is that, after the "break up" happened, a lot of people were quick to pick a side (as with any drama) and didn't give TTJ the chance it deserves. If anything, I think your vibe is what made the other channel so popular to begin with.

And people just assume that when one side comes out first they are telling the truth so they just stick with that instead of even trying to reach out to the other side. Everything that was said has been proven false and I knew time and my actions in the community would tell.

I love watching Josh play his Tor Wauki deck, such a fun card.
As someone that recently had a stroke and has started playing Magic again Josh is right about the off-hand being harder than it looks. Especially one hand shuffling a commander deck.

Tor wauki was the first commander I build when I started playing last year, all cuz of JLK and the second one I build was Goro-goro and satoru cuz of jimmy and now both commanders are at this table :D

Hey Crim there is an artifact (blade of sleves ) that give myriad to equip creature imagine equiping it in a 5/5 dragon token.
Tor Wauki only does 2 damage on instant/sorcery trigger because it says ANOTHER source in the first ability

I'd like to see some episodes where Joe doesn't play all the staples. His decks are just good stuff centered around the commander, and never a fun, quirky budget brew.
@@herman1850 I have limited time to brew especially on days where I have to film back to back games. Making 6 brand new decks to play with pods is a lot. Sometimes is is just a matter of throwing what I have together and rolling with it so I’m not playing the same decks over and over again. I don’t have a team. It’s all just me so I only have so much time. Appreciate the watch though. Check out my Moxfield but most of them are not budget. Some have just cool themes I enjoy because that’s how I like to play the game!
