Great tip but if I want to record a game and the game goes for at least 1.5 hours can I do with iPhone? I don't want the phone to turn off or stop recording.

Hello there. I am a blind UA-camr, and I believe I can assist here. Voiceover, (the talking feature), for those of us with visual impairments, has been around since the iPhone 3GS. Then, the screen curtain (the black/dark screen), was, introduced soon afterwards. The screen curtain has actually been available since iOS 4 In other words, you’ve been able to do this, (Secretly record videos), for a very long time. I may not have gotten the iOS version correct, (As far as the screen curtain is concerned; this feature may have been available before then.) Here’s a way to make the camera recording easy and simple, recording, with a dark screen. Three finger triple tap to turn on the screen curtain if you are in the camera app, three finger double tap to turn off speech. To begin recording either press the volume button, or do a two finger double tap to record the video. There’s no need to worry about the silent switch or anything like that.

I don't have to disable guided access as i just would rather use the back tap to ON/OFF voiceover. Tried that and i got same result.
I am able to do this before ios16 update ! After ios16 update I cant able to shoot video with this method ! Please make another video with latest method !
Same steps but instead of starting the vid then making screen dark, turn the screen curtain on and then use your volume up button to start/stop the video.

How to get the iOS 15 update ??
Here's a silent method that doesn't require tricky triple tapping:
Prep Phone:
1.a. Pull down Right Side Window Shade.
1.b. Pull Brightness down to low. Pull Volume down to **zero**.
2. Go to Settings/ Display & Brightness/ Auto-Lock . Turn Auto-Lock to 'Never'.
Start Recording Video:
2. Go to Camera, select "VIDEO".
3. If will be driving a car (i.e. using phone holder), switch to Front Facing Camera.
3. Press red 'Record' button. "Bink!" will not sound.
4. Swipe DOWN window shade from upper RIGHT HAND corner. (middle or LH corner does not work)
5. DO NOT press power button / DO NOT turn screen off.
6. Recording continues normally.
7. Screen continues to show right-side window shade
8. Notifications will still appear, but will make no sound and will not stop camera recording.
To Stop Recording
8. Wipe UP from bottom of the screen to remove Window Shade.
9. Press red button to stop recording.
* DO NOT use power button to stop recording -- this will make a "Bink" sound.
10. Go to Home Screen
To Re-set Settings
11. Pull down Right Side Window Shade and increase Volume and Brightness.
12. Go to Settings/Display & Brightness/Auto-Lock. Turn Auto-Lock back to [x] minutes.

I've put my iPhone in this mode, and now I can't get back out. All buttons are red for me, but I cannot select any of them. Triple-clicking the power button brings up the Accessibility Shortcuts option screen: Magnifier, VoiceOver, Zoom, and Cancel. None of them work, however. They're captured. Triple-tapping the screen still turns off the display. But those are my only choices. Long-pressing the Vol Up button and the Power button gives me 911/emergency services. And this too I don't seem to be able to turn off.
Edit: Long-pressing the power button calls up Siri, but she demands that I enter my passcode in order to turn off Accessibility or to turn off the phone, but tapping the keyboard results in those taps being captured and turned into audible clicks as well.
Edit2: I finally escaped Accessibility Mode by long-pressing the power button to open Siri, and I told her, "Disable VoiceOver".
Also, I've finally found that double-clicking buttons activates them. Double-clicking is new to me on an iPhone.

When I try to test this by going into the living room where my wife was she knew I was making a recording cause the flashlight camera was on. So this may or may not work unless you have another solution. I even made a shortcut thinking that would make it faster to start the video but again flash is on therefore no secret recording.

Didn’t work for me, nothing happens when you tap the screen also the guided voice thing just makes it really hard to scroll and kept locking my screen, just took me 5 minutes to navigate back to settings to turn it off!

@@UserName-br5zu make sure when u tap side button to tap it 3 times and when u do that make sure to touch pause record so the square hover on the pause button then 3 fingers to switch off the screen then 3 fingers to switch it on. And let me know. I did on my iphone 8 plus

I am a voiceover user, you don’t have to turn the screen curtain off to stop recording, you can just triple click the side button or the home button and voiceover will turn off and turn off the screen curtain at the same time. The next time you enable voiceover screen curtain will automatically be turned on again.

As of latest iOS 15.x there is no way to do this silently, silent mode no longer blocks voice and no way to reduce volume
I just turn my volume down and it works for me
