- This is a re-upload in better quality of a video ( an archive footage from 1989) which serves as an introduction for beginner drummers (although, not absolute ones!) to basic Rock'n Roll drumming, and more specifically, to some of the drums licks Jim used to play in the Yardbirds during the 60's...
Additionally, it also provides insight and entertainment to non-drumming, non-musician Yardbirds fans!... ;-)
This clip (part 2 of 5) covers some basic rudiments such as:
- the double stroke roll
- the single stroke roll
- the Flams and Drags
- the Triplets (1/8 notes triplets or "Three's")
- and their variations on the toms
- Triplet build-ups with ("Smokestack Lightning" and "Shape of Things")
- Description of the different licks used in "Shape of Things"
- 1/16 notes fills, Triplet fills and roll fills used in solo's
Produced by Mike Ober and Jim McCarty.
