  • I've picked one of these before but as I recently got hold of this second one and watched ‪@LockFumbler‬ pick a similar Zeiss Ikon 7-Pin Shutter lock I thought I'd do a bit of a copycat video.
I should point out that the ZI probably has better tolerances and a tighter keyway.
    Check out LockFumbler's video here : • [150] What a hefty loc...
    Thanks for watching
    Cheers 👍🍻

Well picked 👏👏 that is a really tight spacing between the pins. Very interesting, I hardly ever check for this spacing, so thanks for pointing this out 👍👍
Also, thanks for the shoutout 🤗
    Cheers 🍻

The spacing is very tight on the Viro. It's very easy to hit more than one pin at a time.
Have you picked a TESA TE5? That's another lock with weird spacing and it has those damn infuriating tapered pins I find so difficult.
      All the best
      Cheers bud 😁👍 🍻

@@Myloks ah I picked a Tesa Te5 in my video [57], but I did not notice the weird spacing back then I think. Just locked at it once more and noticed it. Good point 👍
And yeah the tapered pins in the Tesa are tough to pick 👌
      Cheers 🍻

Very well picked my friend. Looked like the perfect pick for the job. Skills all around 👏

I didn't make the pick from a template, I was winging it as I went.
I ended up with a profile that was too thin, and the wood I used for the handle was too soft.
I might get the occasional use out of it in cases such as this, but it's not worth finishing or polishing any further.
      Cheers Tinnie 😁👍🍻

@@Myloks winging it is usually the best way, and it's very good for the mind. I call it building out of my head and I do it all the time :-)

Your preview image has attracted me magically, thought the Viro Panzer looks but almost like the ZI Corona Lock 😲
After reading your description, everything became clear 😉
Beautifully and convincingly picked, wish you all the best for 2023 🍀

Your ZI shutter lock is a beauty and was artfully picked by LockFumbler 👌
I hope 2023 is a good year for you too 🍀

I can see why Viro called it Panzer... they're built like tanks and clad in hardened steel armour.

    Nice picking 👌
Your custom pick is pretty sweet mate.
I wouldn't be unhappy with it, we need picks of all shapes and sizes for different keyways and it clearly does a great job😁👍

I didn't make the pick from a template, I was winging it as I went.
I ended up with a profile that was too thin, and the wood I used for the handle was too soft... I should have known from the loose grain... hopefully, I learned something though.
I might get the occasional use out of it in cases such as this, but I don't think it's worth finishing or polishing any further.

@@Myloks I normally just wing my profiles too.
If you want to email me I could send you some wood that I'm using at the moment. I've just received a selection of wood pen blanks for futurepicks too. Word of advice though, if you order the blanks from Amazon coming from China, expect a couple of months for delivery.
Mine were stuck in China customs for ages.

@Terry B Pickin That's really kind of you to offer, but I've just had a selection of pen blanks delivered recently 🙏😁.
I think for my next full custom pick I'll follow Dmac's tutorial on making a partial-tang pick. I've already sketched out a few designs 😁
      Cheers bud 👍🍻

7 pins close together didn't stop you opening this Viro quick. Jolly spiffing picking old bean 😉👍🏻
The big question is what was going on the persons head that drilled there on the shackle?
