You're welcome David. I wouldn't have thought of getting footage had so many not requested it. I'm glad ya'all did now. Thanks for the cool comment...it was the easiest video I've made to date.
Yes the dude was cool and had it all under control around the power wires. I'd have a crick in my neck for a week if I ran that rig for one day !! Thanks for the comment sir.
I heard you mention the GPM of the hydraulics on that 'pruner',..I was thinking at least that, in order to get such a rapid movement of the arm and blade. Is the blade whining the greatest noise from that machine,..it seemed so from what I heard on the video. Thanks for showing us this one. I enjoyed that. Cheers, Wendell!
I really don't know, but logic says its a bunch of flow in a short time !! LOL. That's a carbide tooth blade and man does it sing ! If my old buzz saw would turn that fast....wow !! It was the first time I'd been near one but I did see a series of saws hanging from a helicopter on the major power distribution lines and that too is an incredible set up. Glad you enjoyed it Reg.
Hey Wendell thanks for the action video sir that thing is pretty neat. I could use it for about a week around my place only problem I see is who is going to clean up the mess.
Wow! You gotta take that machine seriously! Didn’t know the blade could be turned at any angle. Thanks for the bonus footage of Layla at the end. She seems like a sweet dog. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Martin...missed it. Sorry. That was an expensive rig for sure. He told me if he had to he could get it to climb up to a 4' sheer limestone cut. It was an amazing thing to watch for a few hours for sure.
Sorry I just look at your two new product on your last video, can you imagine that poor operator lock inside is cabine and had eaten your prune juice and axe laxe LOL 😂🤣😉
Happy 4th of July T! That is a pretty cool machine. Must be a lot of fun running it through the forests. Thanks for getting some action shots for us. All the best to you and your family!
GP, I can't believe you didn't comment on that good looking guy standing be the log skidder :-) I think he is at least as good looking at TractorMan44. I have seen that same machine on my way to work and wondered where it had gotten to.
That is a fair bit of pole wood on the ground. Consumers had a big Michigan loader with aseries of horizontal flails mounted where the bucket would normally be. I was Facilities Manager so I got to sign off on them flattening about 40 acres of scrub wood behind the plant. Quite the deal. The flails were throwing 3" diameter chunks of tree 50 to 100 yards and up on top of the plant. Good thing there 3asn'tvany windows on that end of the plant. 😆😈
Hahahaha...super-mulcher !! They've got a similar set up on a large Kubota tracked machine that pushes right through thickets of 3'' and 4'' scrub brush off the sides of the power lines too. My son was running an identical machine on site a few months back and it tossed a pretty good chunk into his tailgate from a good distance. Ouch !!
It's a wild machine. The operator told me it can climb a 48'' vertical rock shelf, but this being a new machine he wouldn't want do it unless there was literally no other option.
I think the degree of difficulty increases with the length of extension. He does move it rather quickly in the dense smaller branches because just about anywhere it moves or bounces, there is something to trim. The location of the power lines, though visible, are a bit misleading. He's got a lot to keep a sharp eye on to make sure branches don't drop on them. And I notice the closer the boom is to being retracted, the more precise the rapid movements seem to be, but there is still a LOT of weight out there. Thanks Mike for the observation and making the comment sir.
There are still some of the local boys that have the bucket trucks and trimming saws. These out of state guys bid for miles and miles of road way/power distribution lines then hire locals to so the jobs. This crew here were some good old boys from a couple counties south of me. I think there must be big money in an operation this large.
Wow, have seen some similar on videos but nothing like this up close and personal. Would take a tad bit of training. How far away are the lines from his boom? Since they work mostly around power lines that would require constant vigilance. Thx for getting the footage.
The boom is pretty darn close to the power lines. But the big thing is he's gotta make sure the branches he cuts won't fall on and become lodged on the lines as well as pepper the cab over the engine compartment. Yes, you are very much correct, he can't become complacent at all.
A new video and a good cuppaJO! What could be better? Thanks for this fine video of that easy chair saw Tractorman44 Friend. A person could sit in their lazy boy and cut up firewood, cut plywood to size or cut and install sheathing. Get a young fella to man a hammer. I wonder if the operator of that baby has a JO machine in the cab? It sure moves fast and smooth, amazing. Here they have 6-8 guys, a bunch of equipment and a chipper, noisy and slow. Do they clean up the limbs or let that up to the land owners? How soon are you getting one? I'll bet they cost a good few hundred bucks, eh? Looks like you have a great dog too Friend Wendell! I had a dog named Leah 17 years. Been three years since we've had a dog and the longest I've been without since I was five. We'll need a dog fixin the near future. We do have old kitties and one old degenerate JOman so we will need a pup. And how can it be Thursday already? A fine one to you and the Missus and all at Headquarters! I raise another cup your way on this lovely day! This is DaveyJO and I'm outta here and to the JOPot!
Good Morning DaveyJO ol' buddy !! Yes they clean up the limbs with a chipper if out on the road, and for down in the woods under the power lines, they have a super large Kubota tracked skid loader fitted with the meanest brush and bramble grinder I've ever seen. He heads right into a huge pile and it moans and groans and spits out grindings to lay and rot. Even the 3'' and 4'' small trees and underbrush he doesn't even hesitate....chew right in and spit 'em out like a mean woman on a rampage...not that me nor you would ever know what that was like.....LOL. I did tell them though that once they get away from my yard to just let it sit and I'll push it all into the woods with the loader to give the rabbits something to hide under when ShopDog Layla gets to chasing 'em. Save them a little time and expense at the same time. Everybody needs a good dog. Except for four years in the service, I've had dogs from day one !! Never more than two.... Not like cups of JO...never have enough and now I'm heading for another....to you ol' buddy. Take care and lets head to the shop early today. LOL.
That must have been a trip !! It looks interesting to someone like myself that really has no idea how hard it must be. Personally, I can't keep looking up for such a long period.
Gotta have feathered hands to operate a machine like that. Awesome machine. Awesome video. Thanks, Tractorman44!

Thank you kindly Sir for this nice video Cheers 👍👍👍😊
Well Dave, I think everybody that lives in the woods needs one...LOL....maybe. (-:
@@tractorman4461 👍🤣
That is impressive.
Yes Roy, it is for sure. You should see and hear it in person.... Thanks for commenting sir.
serious operator to control that and judge distance out also with the ammount of movement bounce in the boom ,glad you got footage for us thanks

They could make a horror movie with that thing! I don't know but it looks a little akward to operate .Thanks for sharing

I think that would be a 'go to' machine for the impending zombie apocalypse...LOL.
@@tractorman4461 😳😂🤣👍
Rene Drew Hahahaha. Good point. But so far I still have a heartbeat...of course You never know. Lol

LOL! Well, he is certainly a handsome man for sure. LOL Cheers MD!

Just saw one of these today on South Carolina never seen before very cool

Tractor man 44
I believe you could build that thing Easy. AIN'T NO STEP FOR A STEPPER.
Tom Walker thank you for always a kind comment sir. It would be a massive challenge wouldn’t it !! (-:
Wonder how hard the (wiggle) room is from the boom going up and down? Finding that sweet spot?
