Whatever gets music playing in your space & budget is a good thing. I remember listening to music on an all-in-one turntable with speakers. It wasn’t “Hi-Fi”, but it got me to love music 🎵

I started with a fidelity record player and speakers. It could hold six 7 inch singles at a time!

@@UTILITARIANTVUK Cool 👍🏼 I laughed about stacking 45’s on the spindle. I fondly remember those days. The beginning of my audio journey. Way to go on kicking Chuck’s ass! I felt it coming. 😎🎶👌🏼

Good opening via Chuck punching. I'd've waved my lit cigarette lighter around to the opening the box song but I don't smoke. Love it.

I would not mess with Chuck!!
Would you consider using something such as the Douk Audio X1?
    - Phono input and Bluetooth and be able to power decent speakers

Nice intro....I see you left the part out where Chuck gets up and .... well you know....good job ( cudos to the make-up artist it was not not noticeable ceable) covering that experience up 😊. Did they use a small poly cap with the tweeters ? That would be an inexpensive upgrade, just swap it out for an inexpensive one or even a little better. The philosophy here is the tweeter is crossed over pretty high and is used as a range extension for the four inch full range driver in the frequency range where it's naturally rolling off. A paper cone with minimal break up in the high end also helps. In my opinion and experience it works fine and keeps the phase shift minimal that can be adjusted with the driver placement , preferably behind the front baffle with an appropriately deep waveguide. The result is exactly what you heard...not bad for a small space. Then add a small powered sub ....good use for those speaker wires to connect to the high level input fir the sub. A preamp out would also add some flexibility for upgrades along ( i.e. another amp and better speakers and you have a set of speakers for the other side of the room) with a sub out. Nice starter system for your children....show them the lawn mower and the older neighbors will gladly pay for it and your children will get a good experience as an entrepreneur along with some time out side exercising with the walking behind the inexpensive lawnmower.

Amazing intro! How are you on wires because a crouching tiger hidden dragon one would be something!

Mart. Can't say I agree with this one, or you to be perfectly honest.. Sorry. Anyone getting into vinyl in 2024, does so because they are at least passionate about music. My old man always told me, 'buy well, or buy twice' Something that I have made my mantra. I've just searched online and the unit and it is £269.00. The speakers are MDF and look absolutely horrid. Mart, for very slightly more money you can buy an LPX-60, a set of Diamond 9.1's and a BT adapter. Personally, I know which I would rather own. I don't want to sound like I am nit picking, but answer me a question. Would you be happy if you's ordered this and then found out that you can actually buy some industry respected kit for the same money? I can't see this getting 5 stars on What HiFi, can you? LOL.
PS. I surprised that Chuck didn't come back for seconds!

Yeah it is more for a Student dorm where the 'buy well or buy twice' mantra may not apply as they just want something to use for the 3/4 years they are there?
There is one missing component though, an amplifier. So it would either be the LPX-60 into a set of powered speakers or maybe a cheap class d amp. Something like a Fosi Audio BT10a, which has Bluetooth. Think that would come in around £330 to 340 with the 9.1s?
