Hi Jody. Here's my story from the UK. Bought that watch on the last day of 2020. It stopped working in June. I sent it back to LGY WATCH store on 23 June (cost me $26 US). Got it back in perfect working order and well regulated on 1st August. It's been a joy to own ever since. It's worth recounting this, I think, as an example of good after care service and honouring warranty. Cheers!
Bought the Cronos sub homage on your recommendation. Absolutely love it. Later picked up a two tone sub homage from San Martin, and while it's a great watch, it's just not on the same level. You can just feel the refinement in the Cronos. Love both brands but if it was a Rolex homage I'm going with Cronos.
I have the same Cronos sub. It's fantastic and runs at +2 sec/day. Can't beat that. The disappearing Cronos applied logo is my only slight niggle about the watch. This GMT looks fantastic. I may have to pick this one up!
I like what Cronos have done here , hopefully they will address the issues mentioned like the printed dial and maybe bring us a version 3 Maxi case in say 41 or 42mm? However the Squale 30 Atmos has caught my eye mainly because they have done away with the Mercedes hands in favour of a fence post style, lumed ceramic bezel, big crown and nice bright blue/red colour way. The only drawback is the 21mm oyster bracelet?????? Why Squale why....??? 21mm and why no Jubilee?? You cant have a GMT Master 2 without a Jubilee. I'll wait for Cronos to bring us a maxi case version of the above and will go for that over the Squale.
Bought the older GMT with the NH34 movement from the Cronos store for a large discount. Didn't expect much accuracy from the NH34 but it is giving me +2 seconds a day!!!! Very impressed.
when talking about the adjustment on the clasp, your comment, 'even then its a proper footer' love the lingo young fella, brilliant! a wee touch o Scotland right there!
Picked up a Cronos GMT after watching this video too many times. The finishing on the case, bezel action , lumed bezel, and bracelet are amazing and put my $600ish Seikos and $1200ish Tag to shame. There were a few QC quibbles like a .25mm bit of glue sticking out under the 1oclock dial marker, the dial being rotated ever so slightly CW by .25mm, and the crown feeling slightly gritty. That aside, some other things like the cyclops date window, hand finishing, and rotating bezel split are spot on. Definitely not noticeable with daily use and only when I look for it. For the price I paid used at $250, more then happy with my purchase. Still amazed at how quality it feels and the amount of specs that can be accomplished for the price. Strongly recommend to anyone interested as long as they are willing to let some of the finer details slide.
I picked up one of the previous versions of these last year with the printed logo and double pusher clasp and with the darker red colour on the bezel. It's a gorgeous watch and the jubilee is incredibly comfortable. Definitely worth the cash and definitely recommend the darker bezel, looks much classier.
Same here, dark bezel as well about 4 months ago. Hit the watch with a cape cod polishing cloth and it looks fantastic! I catch many people looking hard at it on my wrist.
Its one thing to pay 48000 if that is the manufacturer's price but quite another to pay that knowing that by doing so you become part of the problem as well as a lot poorer. The watch looks well done and at the price it's hard to see how you can go wrong.
I've got a couple of San Martin Subby homages (latest versions) and they are both superb.... But I really do think that this Cronos is an absolute beaut !!!
The hydraulic press channel did a test with a Cronos 1000M. It held up to 270 bars of pressure before it stopped and started running when they got it out of the pressure chamber.
I'm a bit late to the party here, I'm watching this wearing my Pagani Design Pepsi GMT. I think you are right Jody, so many seem to come from the same factory. The Pagani looks identical to the Cronos except the brand name on the dial is printed and the clasp is engraved, it has a display case-back, and a Seiko movement. It also cost a lot less than the Cronos. So if I can find the 'change my mind' guy - I'd like a word.. My first Pepsi and with it being a GMT Pepsi combined with the (lovely) Jubilee, I do feel a bit of a 'Flash Harry' wearing it.
I know this video is a year old and I just finished watching your vid from 2 years ago about the top 10 Submarine’s. Never was aware of Cronos until these 2 vids. Thanks to you I just bought the Cronos dark Pepsi GMT on sale from $499 to $289 with a $20 off code. Don’t know if Cronos does a version of the Invicta perpetual sale but the watch looked good at $499 and $269 feels like a steal. This will tide me ver until Marc brings out his next GMT. Rumors are that it’s going to be the Port Jefferson with either Miyota or Seiko GMT movement. I’m addicted to GMT’s😅
I’ve never had a problem with homage watches, I have the Invicta 1953, San Martin 1953 (the year I was born) and the Steeldive 1954 amongst others. As close as they are in appearance to the originals that they pay homage to, one thing that they have in common is that they are attractive, but plain watches. With watches like this Cronos that at a very short distance, especially with the colourful bezel looks like an expensive Rolex, I wonder if anyone has been the victim of an opportunistic mugger that thought that it was a Rolex???
I remember a few years back Sub was available here in the UK for £6 - £7k. A lot of money, but something to aspire to and maybe still attainabl for some. At the prices that are being asked now it's obscene, I feel sorry for for the genuine watch geeks that will never own one because of the inflated prices and worried for those who have overpaid and will lose out when the bubble bursts.
I get sick every day when I see all of the Rolex prices. Watches I could have bought for nothing compared to what they are now and thought: "Meh, I'll grab it later."
I am a watch geek and none of rolexes every gave me the itch to own, I see them as an abomination instead I genuinely like their younger brother Tudor and I own two of them happily. My point is Rolex is not the end of journey watch that some trying to make you believe

I have this watch but with the printed logo and the darker bezel insert, cause I prefered this. It‘s absolutely great looking in person! Especially with the fully lumed bezel insert.
I was going to buy the Pagani Pepsi until I saw this video. I went with the Cronos instead based on your argument and it’s gorgeous. Great to have someone in Australia making content about what price we’ll pay and shipping etc. Thank you!
Watch 8 Price 8....was looking at ebay yesterday and a moonswatch the black speedy version was going for £7.500 sterling!!! Or best part of $10.000 USD!! And it had bids! You can nearly buy 2 real ones for that! ( how many exclamation marks?)
At this point Rolex prices mean they are in safe deposit boxes rather than wrists. And you are right Jody that bubble will burst at some point. I think part of the joy the moon swatch has given so many is two fingers up to Rolex and the wrist flexers. When watches are being bought by investors and people who have no love of timepieces something went wrong somewhere.
I recently bought the Steinhart 38 and it is stunning. I love it so much more than my Cronos. The Cronos is great. But it is a bit too “sterile” with no “heart”. If that makes sense. The Steinhart is amazing and it has that “heart” feeling as well.
Steinhart are by far the best value for money I have seen so far. I don't own one yet but I'm picking up an ocean 39 with a green mop dial soon. It's kind of out there with the colour but it looks stunning .
Love my Cronos sub homage. Went with the SW200. The glide lock on that is so nice to use, would have liked to see it used on this GMT as well, though not accurate to the original Rolex like you said. I think Cronos could come up with some proper original watches if they ever wanted.
My ones just arrived, after watching this video . So far after a few hours of wearing I am really impressed. Jubilee bracelet easy to adjust to my slim wrist and wears well. Very light too. Polishing is mirror like and sharp. The Pepsi colours really pop.
Nice homage, I have a 39mm Steinhart and I really like the build quality. Nothing wrong with a homage as long as it’s not a miss representation counterfeit.
There are two things I watch out for when I watch your videos. One, I listen to your entertaining reviews. And two, I check out your printed T-shirts. Thanks for another great review.
Hahahahaha LWC introduction is awesome! Still chuckling! I watched the Pagani Design Chrono video the other day….and ordered one yesterday. Did you ever give it a try in the pool? Sorry…I know this is a Cronos video. I’m just curious about WR.
I totally agree with your sentiments re 'Rolex' pricing glad you always keep things real unlike so much of the watch sphere of late; I agree the bubble will burst...wow that pepsi homage looks lovely with nice accuracy too may have a punt! Thank you.
Yay! Glad you've got one of these! I bought the "carbon fibre" grey/black version (mainly because the Rolex shiny black dial bores me) with fully lumed Pepsi Dial last year. Mine does have the printed logo with the hourglass. I do wish the text at 6 o'clock was larger as I need a loupe to actually read it. It disappears against the marbled like of the "carbon" dial. (Actually would have loved it if it was 42mm case like a Steinhart). Yes the lume is fantastic (especially with the fully lumed bezel) and this GMT function is easy to set and is accurate! (unlike a Steinhart that I had to get a refund for as the GMT was WAY out). I think it's a beautiful homage and I can feel the build quality which is nigh on exquisite. The ceramic bezel with the Pepsi Colours is absolutely STUNNING! PS my clasp is different - the older style with 4 micro adjust. Lovely piece (and naturally I'm wearing mine as I type this.)
Looks like you can set the GMT hand wherever you want, as there are several segments here where the GMT hand position doesn't correspond to the minutes. If so then not bad if you want half-hour measurements (quite useful in some parts of Australia) and something the Rolex can't manage.
Hey, I have this one! First time I've owned a watch before Jody reviews it. Mine is from when they first made it, so no lumed bezel insert (which I'm fine with) but the printed hourglass logo on the dial and a normal, milled clasp with four micro-adjust positions.
I have the standard black enamel Cronos Subbie homage with the NH35 and it is one of my two favorite direct homage watches, just after the Tisell Explorer. Lovely dial and indices. Very clear sapphire. Fantastic lume. Great bracelet with the on-the-fly clasp. I bought mine used so the previous owner may have regulated it but mine is spot on, +/- O seconds per day. Cyclops is perfect. Oyster type bracelet is very nice. Literally no real complaints. Biggest niggle is the applied logo.
These do look really nice. I have their sub homage and that's great. It actually has the glidelock style clasp too. I'm a little surprised they didn't use it on this one as well. That would just take it to the next level I think. Great review as always Jody.
If cronos would move the date window and cyclops over to the left some, like rolex, it would be great! The Paganis are more to the left and is more proper looking..
No way I would pay 48k for a stainless steel watch or any watch. I have a few omega and Rolex but they were inherited from my grandfather and they were bought pretty cheap. Like the president I have he bought it in 1996 for $5k and it’s solid gold. He had a furniture store on Main Street in town and he knew everyone. His next door was a jeweler and a guy he knew was closing up his place and had 3 Rolex left and my grandfather got it at a deal. I still have the wood box it came with and the paper work and a 1952 Omega Geneva gold with interchangeable bands in like new condition. After my grandfather passed the jeweler called me and told me that he had a brand new band for the Omega, he gave it to me. So after he gave me the band I now have all 3 colors of them. Great video Jody.
I'm glad to see they've upgraded the clasp from the one they originally used. I have the San Martin GMT, and while it's good, mine arrived with some QC issues. Those aside, it's worth the extra money if you want something nicer than Parnis/Bliger/etc.
Great review, enjoying this series of videos and love the look of this watch - the idea of lume wars AliExpress edition sounds interesting - talking about Ali, just logged on but this one is all sold out !
Have the Cronos Aqua Terra homage in bronze 42mm. The watch that's no longer made in a material never made in funky green/yellow dial. Side by side with the real deal, looks very good, on time and perfect for outdoor activities.
I own the previous generation. I agree that the printed "Cronos" and hourglass logo looks better. Mine has a different clasp. It's a stamped, plain two-button clasp. It works great, but I wonder if Cronos sell the "upgraded" clasp and/or bracelet by itself. In spite of the hard to adjust issues, I think the newer clasp fits the overall look of the watch better.
Love the look of it 😍 How's the bracelet though... Got very bad experience with the Pagani Newman before. Any sharp edges? Easy to pull clasp? Pagani one a little harder. Do they rattle?
I wanted one so bad, I finally pulled the trigger but unfortunately the watch was dead after 2 or 3 weeks. Basically it stops several times a day. Don't know if it's a Cronos or a Hangzhou movement issue, but at the end of the day I found myself without a working watch. Overall, the build quality is nice, the lume is craaazy (got the one with lume on the bezel as well) and the best part is the jubilee ! So comfortable.
Hi Jody! Would you replace a Steinhart Ocean One (with aluminum bezel insert) with this Cronos? Does it have the same finishing quality as the Steinhart? Love your videos btw 😊👍 Greetings from Germany
Nice watch indeed only I don't like the gasp it s to big I got one after market for my pagani it's half the size and wears much better . This would be a perfect addition to this watch and complete it big times
Hi Jody. Last night I ordered this gmt through your link. Was a bit confusing though when I got there as so many watches aren't available. I ordered what I thought was the one you had only to think later that it's the wrong one.....dark blue, which I'm sure now isn't the pepsi one so now I've canceled my order. Any thoughts and is there an older more expensive version I'm also seeing. Cheers Rod
Please help me guys ! I want to buy one but don’t you think colors of the bezel ( blue/red) are too light compare to the Rolex ?? May be dark red / dark blue ???? Thanks for your help !!
I like the San Martin version a little better. The clasp is nicer, the machining on the bezel is nicer and the cyclops is sapphire (mineral on the Cronos). 2 year warranty on the SM as well.
Hi Jody! Damn, I wish I'd watched your reviews in the right sequence because, based on the ones I've seen, I've bought a Pagani, Invicta and a San Martin.... Now this one looks even better! I rarely wear one of my Rolexes (Rollei??) in urban areas since I was mugged and robbed of one in central London - I could have done without the cracked rib and bloodied nose, but I'd have preferred to lose one of these, especially as the insurance didn't cover the cost of the replacement! 😔 So, I suppose I'll now have a look on Ali for a Cronos. Anyone want to buy a used (but mint) Pagani, Invicta or San Martin equivalent? 😃
Hey mate! Revisiting this video as I am thinking about picking one up. Looks like they now have the NH34 inside. Should make for an even better value proposition!
Hello Jody, I have a collection starting with a Heimdallr up to Longines Bigeye and the watch that I wear the most is the Cronos pepsi gmt and love it. I don't know how they did it for so little.....
Ok what!! I own a Rolex Pepsi GMT and I’ll be honest, this is a great homage. It really looks so much like it. Most homage watches fail on thickness, but this is respectable 12.5mm, only a bit more than the Rolex.
Jody, your enthusiasm for watches and your positive spirit is always an enjoyable experience! Keep your great work going. Many thanks and greetings from Tel Aviv.
I hate cyclopes, sorry I just do. I'm not 80, my "Pepsi bottle glasses" still work just fine. I like to say I don't wear homages yet one of my favorite watches is a Seiko Samurai built entirely from upgrade parts. At least it has a better Seiko movement than the original. Great review, pretty watch, just not for me. Hopefully everyone that gets one enjoys it.
Another great review. Were it not for the Pagani Design and the Revue Thommen versions of this already in my collection I would be tempted. So very tempted. . .
With the exception of the jubilee bracelet, I don’t see how this watch is better than my Pagani “Submariner,” which is $100 less … and btw is keeping perfect time one year later. Still a joy to wear.
Paganini have terrible QC issues. They can be amazing value for what you get - like in your case - but there is an element of luck. Also, hard to see on video but the finishing on Cronos watches is exceptional for the price. I own one and it is superior to my Tissot by quite a margin.
Hi have this watch, just bought it to check if I would like the real thing. This is the most accurate watch I ever had, maybe + 30 sec a month 😮😮😮😮 maybe just luck. But it is really excelent in every aspect
Isn’t Rolex hommaging cronos now? With cronos you can get a green-black bezel for a while now and Rolex just released it if I’m not mistaking… I own a Cronos Subby, given I got it from eBay, but the clasp had sharp edges and the lugs are rather pointy. Still not that disappointed but yeah, it is what it is. Runs roughly -8 s/d which is unfortunate, i rather have it run fast, but still within spec of the PT-5000.
This would have to be the most accurate to the GMT Master 2 Rolex. I just ordered one and cant wait to receive it. It looks fantastic, to spend 40K on the original is peoples choice, i'd rather a classic car and my Cronos thanks!
Hi Jody great video! do you know if the Sugess batman, and pepsi gmt homage watches are as good as the Cronos, and San Martin? I see it's cheaper by a bit, but is it as good😊
I purchased an older version with a different clasp. Much thinner, with holes for micro adjust. I like the watch, but the movement in mine is a little crunchy. I already modded it with an old-school aluminum Coke bezel, so I probably won’t send it for warranty work. Bugger.
The Cronos Automatic Diving Watch Stainless Steel 2000 Meters Water Resistance Professional Diver (Sea Dweller Homage) case back is VERY interesting and has an interesting claim machined into it, worth looking into.
The cyclops looks really milky! Jumps into my eyes. So, if this is the best hommage, what makes it better than the Davosa Ternos GMT apart from the bezel being bidirectional?
If homage have taught anything, is that I would never pay gray market prices for a watch. My uncle gifted me an Explorer homage and I estimate he paid around $70 for it. It is a nice watch and keeps decent time. But, I know I would deeply regret paying 100 times the amount for the real thing. After owning the homage for nearly 8 years, I am sure of that. Great video, Jody.
Jody, your content is excellent! Do you think it's worth spending the extra money and buy a Cronos with SW-200 movement or just stick with the PT5000 ?
I love the channel additionally the watch looks pretty nice but for some reason, I just find it hard to swallow spending ~$300 on this watch. I understand you comparing this to an original $48K Rolex, but honestly this watch is not worth the price tag and you should have called that out. For instance, from similar price point - How much better is this watch then a Seiko SRPD59 (Seiko 5, 42.5mm) chrono which right now is $80 cheaper on Amazon (~$221)? Or if were comparing homage watches, wouldn't buying say 4 to 6 different Invicta watches which add up to the same price be better?
It's a nice one and worth considering with ROLEX well out of financial reach, but untill that day I make due with my CASIO Marlins as I got the blue bezel , the Pepsi bezel and the black bezel, they may not be GMT'S but they work for me.

Nice homage, I have a 39mm Steinhart and I really like the build quality. Nothing wrong with a homage as long as it’s not a miss representation counterfeit.
Even then, I dont blame anyone with todays prices 😂
Thank you.
Even if I had the money twice over it'd be be difficult tbh.
Hello. Can you make a comparison of the Addiesdive Diver Vs a Crono Dive watch
I love 2022 my Pagani 1662 with the DG movement. But the coke version only came with aluminum bezel insert. Dark red. Clear case back. Love it.
Looks nice on your wrist but without being able to try one on I have no idea how it will wear for me. Coming from China one to two months wait.
I'd just spend that bit more and get the Steinhart and get the benefits of Swiss Made and a Swiss Movement.
Good review. Not bugged about the applied logo tbh.
Theres a trick with dental floss for adjusting the clasp. Much easier
Have the Cronos Aqua Terra homage in bronze 42mm. The watch that's no longer made in a material never made in funky green/yellow dial. Side by side with the real deal, looks very good, on time and perfect for outdoor activities.
I bought darker version and i love it so much. it really looks fantastic
Thanks for the review Jody!
The adjustment of the 3 positions in an actual Rolex EasyLink clasp is not easy either I’ve found out…
I own the previous generation.
Definitely don't mind a homage when it's done well... this looks great!
Movement issues. Anyway to do a warranty claim?
@@ocb05 I’d guess: Absolutely not
@@ocb05 Honestly I didn’t even try
Hi Jody!
Would you replace a Steinhart Ocean One (with aluminum bezel insert) with this Cronos? Does it have the same finishing quality as the Steinhart?
Love your videos btw 😊👍
Greetings from Germany
Nice watch indeed only I don't like the gasp it s to big I got one after market for my pagani it's half the size and wears much better . This would be a perfect addition to this watch and complete it big times
nice...but i think i prefer my steinhart version... :)
I can't get over how good it looks! The new camera probably made some positive difference!
What would you suggest as the best Yachtmaster II homage out there? It's my ultimate grail watch but I will likely never be able to afford it.
I have the older clasp for this model. Has anybody changed the clasp to a glidelock? And where did you get it from?
Cheers Rod
I could tell at the beginning shots it was 8 beats per second and I was very surprised. Nice watch for the money, no doubt.
Hi Jody, have you ever tested the Mathey-Tissot homages from Jomashop? Thanks,
Great video as usual, Jodie 👍. You might need to provide subtitles for “footer” at 11.27 !! Cheers 🏴
2 year warranty on the SM as well.
what makes you think the cronos have a mineral cyclops? sapphire cyclops are not expensive...
It is now sapphire chronos confirmed it when i ask them on aliexpress
@@davidsonviray1403Thank you for confirming it is a sapphire glass.
Pay a little bit more and get the San Martin GMT. It has better quality than Cronos. I know, as I am also own a San Martin GMT.
Have been looking at some Steinhart and Squale versions of this watch, how would you say those compare to this?
Would like to see a Cronos homage of the Rolex Explorer 2, the Pagani one just isn't up to snuff for me
So, I suppose I'll now have a look on Ali for a Cronos. Anyone want to buy a used (but mint) Pagani, Invicta or San Martin equivalent? 😃
When is the best time to buy one? Any sales coming up soon?
I really like these homage watches after all the look of the rolex models is what attracts us as they don't show the movement.
Love the shirt. Their baseball team was in my town last year and won their first Championship round game EVER. Great fun!
So very tempted. . .
Hi Jodi, great reveiw and good looking watch but I have enough divers and also not a big fan of Pepsi bezels to be honest
I have the fully lumed version. Awesome watch, my 6 marker is off to the right by the tiniest percentage....otherwise a perfect watch
@@jacc88888 thank you for this thoughtful and helpful reply! Yes the finishing on my Pagani is a bit rough in spots.
They should have printed Cronos in white and above a little hourglass in applied metal
Loving the save series
Hi have this watch, just bought it to check if I would like the real thing. This is the most accurate watch I ever had, maybe + 30 sec a month 😮😮😮😮 maybe just luck. But it is really excelent in every aspect
Great review. Debating between cronos and steinhart. I don’t want just a homage, some originality is important too
When you try and sell your Chronos down the line what kind of money will you get for it ?
5:00 Bezel … shouldn’t it be 48 clicks to take into account the 1/2 hour offset places like Newfoundland?
Isn’t Rolex hommaging cronos now? With cronos you can get a green-black bezel for a while now and Rolex just released it if I’m not mistaking…
I own a Cronos Subby, given I got it from eBay, but the clasp had sharp edges and the lugs are rather pointy.
So, if this is the best hommage, what makes it better than the Davosa Ternos GMT apart from the bezel being bidirectional?
that date looks terrible. The printing was awful too.
Thank you for the video. I was looking at the Timex M79, but you have sold me on this beauty. 👍🏻
Literally watching this with my cronos batman on wrist! Came to town just last week! Cheers
If you’re gonna spend $350-$400 just buy a 1:1 clone. They can be bought for that price.
It's a nice one and worth considering with ROLEX well out of financial reach, but untill that day I make due with my CASIO Marlins as I got the blue bezel , the Pepsi bezel and the black bezel, they may not be GMT'S but they work for me.
