    Wow thanks for all of your guidance and many videos and words to the wise... Just got my Mini 3 pro. Prime day deal from B&H! Unfortunately Fed Ex next day Air turned out to be 2 weeks+. Any way it looks like all coaches and runners should use active track feature to improve their running form and efficiency. Did you notice your feet splay outward on each step? It is only minor but the right pro could probably help you to improve your form and mosly reduce the negative eventual consequences of your running style..I am speaking as a former triathlete, running coach, swim coach. I am also old! A crash in a bike race haunts me now more than it did in the late 70's when it happened.With 20/20 hindsight I should have done PT or seen a Dr. But no, I just jumped up and exclaimed "I'm OK" (Like in "Wild Hogs"). So my limited knowledge and advice is to correct the error now. Maybe you should have run cross country 3 more years in HS to fine tune and get those skills imprinted to your muscle memory.😄

    Nice that they now able to descent downhill, for skiing tho, there is a slight problem as you do turns and move side to side, the drone is also moving side to side, which make the video unwatchable, I wish they develop more activetrack modes, like custom mode, where you could set basic parameters yourself, like, move forward straight 100m and do descent 30m/

    In the early days of active track (circa Phantom 4), I remember the issue being that you need to leave the camera pretty much on auto-everything to allow it to adjust exposure as needed in the shadows. Is this still the case on the newer drones?
    Having said that, the exposure latitude and overall image quality is so much better now, perhaps it doesn’t really matter anymore.

      I don't tend to switch into manual mode unless I'm really focused on a hyper-specific thing that I want to control the lighting at usualyl a static scene. I'd probably check out Phillip Bloom's reviews, and he does a lot more with tweaking.

      Yeah, I agree, I fail to understand why there hasn’t been anything like it. And Skydio didn’t invent the beacon either - it’s been around well before Skydio existed. AirDog was really the first company to have it. That’s given DJI like a decade to come up with something .

    It would be interesting to see since your elevation dropped if it had an issue and entered into RTH, how would it handle the RTH Altitude change? If you had set to +100m or so would it climb +100m from current or +100m + the negative meter calculation? Or does the home point reset to where you have the remote?

    • @Dcrainmaker

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  2 роки тому

      It depends on the time of year and lighting to be honest. This time, it easily spotted the lines on the controller view, and descended slightly (you see it do it about 5-7 seconds prior). But it's also well lit, almost summer, etc... Whereas late afternoon in the winter? Might have hit it. Albeit, this was kinda a weird grouping of cables, so far easier to spot.

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  2 роки тому +1

      No prob. Take off and position the drone to your side, and then put it in Parallel mode (within Active Track, just instead of Trace, select Parallel). Once you start moving slowly, then use the controller to rotate the drone around you to the front. It'll stay at same height/distance to you. Once there, you can go ahead and slowly speed up. Works well, but just be aware that the rearwards obstacle avoidance sensors aren't as good (less range, less field of view), so its a bit riskier.

      I record to the wireless mic itself, and then sync aftewards. That said, I do also use the DJI Mic to record with it's own transmitter, and you could theoretically pipe that into a USC-B mic attachment for the DJI RC. It's complicated, but it should actually work.

    • @Dcrainmaker

      Yes. You'll set it to Parallel mode within Active Track, initially at the side, and then once you start moving, you can use the controller to relocate it to the front, and then it'll stay there. Note that you'll need to be a bit more cautious as the rear obstacle avoidance sensors aren't as good.
