"If two groups of the believers fight each other, seek reconciliation between them. And if one of them commits aggression against the other, fight the one that commits aggression until it comes back to Allah’s command. So if it comes back, seek reconciliation between them with fairness, and maintain justice. Surely Allah loves those who maintain justice."

I just hope before AD and MH another debate took place, they would at least ask other Brother to review whether their format is suitable or not.
Personally, i really like Shamsi way of argument. Clear and concise and simple to understand, and respectful. First impression is rough, but once 2 or 3 times watching, you know it's not because he's offensive or anything.
Yeah. Hope AD and MH able to get other brother for suggestion and help on idea for debate presentation before executing it

@@peelfreshvita3199 Yes, the truth is people like Shamsi are providing a large benefit to the english-speaking Muslims by aiding in giving them access to the scholarly works. The scholarly works are like a flowing river of clean water upon a bed of ceramic on an island filled with trash, landfills, death and eroding flesh. Until someone has learned Arabic there is a big benefit from SPUBS but there is also a benefit in learning their flaws in the meantime and maintaining a level of distance with their general people's actions until we have knowledge of the foundations of the Q&S from the scholars themselves. Those who have clarified such flaws with level-headedness and maturity are people such as Khalid Green who has stated that SPUBS are closer to salafiyyah than SPFILES. So it's important to be balanced. Just wanted to express that because I have seen this fitnah unfold from different directions and this is what I've learned. Jazakum Allahu khairan.

I met a Muslim who lived in the highlands of Scotland, he told me he was glad he found Islam before he met a Muslim in person as he may have had second thoughts,
He said that after performing hajj, I don't know what he experienced but I did understand where he was coming from,

As Egyptian myself, I assure you that Mohammad Hijab does struggle when he tries to speak Arabic, both Al-Fusha and even Egyptian accent are both broken. Anyways the language is NOT the standard to judge a Muslim or a reason to humiliate them. The Prophet Mohammad saw. used to treat people equally well even if they harmed him, that’s why his message spread fast. Saajid don’t be sad he’s such an arrogant person thinking he’s helping Islam by attacking others. May Allah swt. fix our hearts on the true iman.

The debate was done publicly in front of thousands of people, so a public reprimanding was totally CALLED for against the flaws and the faulty mannerisms displayed in the 'debate'. The greatest injustice being the fact that the 'debate' didn't really accomplish anything. It wasn't even REMOTELY beneficial, because if the purpose was to expose AP, it has been done countless times before in a much better way. Salam.

There's also rumors going around about how non-Muslims weren't welcomed in the country and we were rude to them, some courtesy of Drew Binsky. None of that is true, we're a small country and news travel fast and I can assure you, nobody was stoned or got their hands cut off. @@ThePunisher014 salam i'm just going to allow myself to answer the question as I had a somewhat similar feeling as Cosette here.
I never knew much about them ( i didn't even realise all this happened until i found this video) bc most of the time when i ended up begining to watch a video of them i would click away rather quickly.
Might be a personality thing but the agressive undertones (at least the way i perceived it) are not really my "flavour", and i didn't like the argumentation style when debating with other people as i was usually left feeling bad for the other person and reminded of the debates my classmates had in highschool, where facts and logic were used but still seemed to only scratch the surface of the subject at hand and where at the end the one thing that mattered was being right and trumping over the other person,
i don't really like debates with "opponent vibes" , where you're just supposed to take the other one down, a lot of the actual subject can be (imho will be) lost, ig that's why i prefere to listen to discussions over debates in general, and that's why i said might be a personality thing.
Also i'm not trying to say that this is their general behaviour or even their intention, it's just the way that the little that i did see came off to me and i wrote it off as just not my thing and went to look for someone else to listen to
hope this answeres the question and offers another perspective
