    It looks good Jason! The new tires, rims and decals really improve the basic model. Thanks for sharing this.

    I used to work with a Bradford born Italian who used to get hacked off by my calling an Austin Metro as an Austin Mini Metro. But what did he know, a gentleman who wanted the studio junior to take the micky out of my Humber Sceptre Mk2. You should have seen his face when the studio junior (a London born Italian) to say "Actually, I think it's quite cool!" Yes, the car was painted by the previous owner with a yard brush. After I had it resprayed in it's original metallic blue, the car looked far better. Thanks for the upload with it's potted history, which makes the video far more interesting, and I thought I was only one that put extra detailing on the die-cast models. Good job!

    I had the 1989 Metro GTa which was a standard A series MG but with Turbo body kit interior and crosswire style alloys! Loved that little car!

    Thank you for this video!
    I don’t know if I have one of these in my extensive ‘lot’ of die cast models but I did own two real Metros, a 3-door in Nautilus Blue and a 5-door in silver.
    Cracking job on the MG livery!

    healthy livery there, love the details. :) and it's a rare sight to see the door cards being taken care of. ^^
    the original car was a rarity in germany, most germans think of a Mini when you mention british small cars. but one popped up as an used car at an Opel dealership I worked at in early 90's. I marvelled at the funky technical solutions they put up, like gearbox and engine sharing the oil, and the master brake cylinder standing upright becaue the engine took up the space. that was as interesting as the LHD Escort Mk1 and 2 with their extensions for the master brake cylinder because there was just a bit of not enough room near the engine... I also tried to adjust the clutch, but it didn't work, so I let it be.
    interestingly enough the car sold pretty quickly.

    Looks really smart. Your videos have inspired me to do some restorations myself. I would love to see your take on the matchbox ford probe. I did one myself to recreate the one I had when I was 17.

    I still remember the excitement of going and getting my metallic blue Corgi Metro in the launch edition Union Jack box. Sadly the box is long gone but the Metro remains but has a rather ill judged black marker pen paint job applied to cover the chipped paintwork. Restored with a replica box it would take pride of place again in my collection!

    It also had a twostage boost controller on the turbo so the gear box didn't fail. The MG1300 was very quick ! I had a 1985 one. I also had a 85 HLE 1.0. That came with a 3 + E gearbox. 60 mpg!!

    Ideas for castings to customise? Either Lesney regular wheels/early Superfast, or Lone Star. Both have amazing cast in detail that really deserve full detailing

      I’ve always found it difficult fully customising regular wheels models as they’re so suited to their regular wheels! I’ve got a whole load of Superfast castings in need of work so I could give them a go

    Looks great for the most part! Although...oh dear, what's happened with the tampos on the right hand side of the car? Looks a bit sloppy and faded in places

      Desperately in search of one mate! Ideally one with a clear transparency rather than the multitude of shaded ones available. I’ve even got a perfect set of wheels ready to go

    • @DieCastRestos
      @DieCastRestos  2 місяці тому +1

      They are based on Melber Giugiaro Trama wheels, from the Diecast Details shop

    I had one of these. What always bugged about this Corgi model was that the scale was all wrong - it was too big to be a Corgi Junior……….it frustrated my OCD no end!!
