My very first game of paintball; I was about 8 years old; we were playing in some woods off from Seacove Ave E St.Augustine FL the day after Christmas with those purple brass eagle guns, no prior chrono and I blacked out after getting shot on the dome 4 times by a kid named James Locklear. Paintball wasn’t the sport for me that day, but I’m very glad I revisited it later on in life. It’s now a sport that helps me stay clean and sober. Can’t afford h with a paintball habit 🥳🙌🏻

@@digitalsmithy Probably about to answer that for you, by replying to this in general. My mind is like a never ending stream of connections, that never shuts off. I hold little bias towards anything so I can learn from everything. Much like how children learn as if they were sponges. Eventually most children develop a sense of themselves, and begin to separate their “imaginations” from reality. This did not happen to me, I had an understanding that I do not operate outside of cause and effect, and judgement of others is a failure to recognize the same actions in their various states of occurrence. At a young age, I was aware that every physical creation was once just a thought, so my imagination never stopped creating. This was channeled in writing short stories very descriptively. In writing those stories, I became aware that I could only think about things that I had learned from others, or things I had experienced in my life, or watched. Then I came to the understanding that there really is no “me” I’m just an evolution and reaction of all thinking, actions, and creations before me. I am aware that sometimes people can take what I say for being random, but nothing is random, that’s just a word we use to label patterns we don’t understand in the universe, “luck” “chance” ect, I am no different than anyone else; my experiences have just made me what I am, and happened to open my mind up to create “seemingly “ more complex connections than others minds. This is a total illusion,and is not true. They just have their own beliefs structures, experiences, ect that make up where their minds can see correlations and patterns. All is give and take though, because I have this type of mind, not everyone see’s me as productive to society, given I think a lot, and might not contribute to it in a physical labor kind of sense, I kind of never felt valued by others. In fact I often believed I was a little crazy. So eventually when I had the means; I started utilizing other’s skills and talents to form a business, where my mind could be put to use creating a place I could feel myself, and be productive, in a world I felt didn’t have a place for someone like me. I suppose I never felt like I am enough, so I compiled a bunch of things to make it look like I am, or feel like I am. I hope this answers your question 😌 You must be very descriptive yourself, or you would have not seen my statement for being descriptive. I certainly didn’t think about it, before you suggested it🙏 I’d love to hear your story on how you can notice things like that 🥳
In 98', another player and I were at the fifty on either side of 4x8 plywood. We were wearing the JT Whipit (half masks). He reached over the top and blind fired about two inches away and one inch in front of my ear. Ear rang for about 30 mins and my jaw was sore for a few days. After that I only wore full coverage masks. Feedback - I like new intro. Good transitions and well paced. I would recommend a short b-roll of you playing with the 2nd skull between the intro of the project and talking about how it felt to play with it. Plus, nice upgrade on the headband. Keep it up.
I am an NXL divisional referee, and I get hit in the head often. However one of the worse, was at NXL Dallas in 2017. I was reffing the D side and I was bent down checking a players pack, when the other team did and run trough on the tape and the player was aiming down and I got three balls on the top of my head from about maybe two feet. My skull was ringing for about 30mins. I love what 2nd skull is doing, and even if I don’t win I see myself using one for the #2020pbreftour #pbreflife
My worst headshot was actually this season while running scenario drills on the Chicago layout. I slid into the snake off the break, and crawled to the end of the beam. And as many know, there's that small Gap to the brick. I did a small peak to check off the tall Maya that has the shot on it, and he had me pinned. so while I was kinda stuck for a moment, I was trying to talk to my back player to put in the Maya. And with my back player coming off of the wire (wrapping the corner to shoot the Maya for me) they're snake player launched from the wing, and bunkered me. 🤯 I've never had my bell rung so bad. I took 2 hits to the top of the head and one to the top of my goggles (where a visor would be) it broke my goggles and exploded on the INSIDE of my lens! After sitting on the sidelines for a minute holding pressure on my head, everyone noticed I was bleeding, and my goggles were broke. Immediately had that guy Chrono. He was right at 300 but come to find he was also using recball field paint that was for Tippmanns and hard as rocks. And byfar this was my worst headshot ever. That pure ringing 🛎️🔔 pain 🤕I'll never forget 🤯
I think the second time I went out to play Rec ball, I got hit straight on the forehead. It left that perfect ring mark and my mother asked why do I do this to myself 😂
These work extremely well for pb. I play Magfed paintball and I use the headband version. Been shot with fsr in the forehead and you don’t feel any pain at all.
ICPL Florida last month. Playing on the Hybrid field. 8 on 2 with me on the 30 yard snake side. Of course got bunkered and took a few on the dome, neck, and back by multiple players. Must have been pretty close as it ripped a hole in my Sandana. Let me know and I can send you a pic of the 4-5 welts on my noggin! LOL
my local field just got the nxl chicago open layout. i was having a great day of paintball doing everything good getting g’s everything you want in a paintball day decided to play the center a couple points kept getting out through little small mistakes so i was determined to learn it. final point comes i rush the center off break drop the d side and i get the callout theres another player on the center 50. i check to see if can get his pack or something he rushes jumps through the gaps and pops me like 5 times on top of my head we traded but man i had a bump on my head for like 2 weeks no joke i always wear beanies now.
Worst time I got shot in the head was when my remote line went down one day during some woods ball. Instead of hoofing it back to the staging area, I decided to go full barrel swab melee and b line it for the objective. I threw myself into an epic dive behind some very low cover and someone managed to tag my skull just as I slid behind it from a bunker or two away. Worst/best thing is, it didn't break. Ouch. But lived to tell the tale and ended up storming the objective markerless!
Looking forward to the XTS gameplay footage. Playing the big W bunker the opposing player was tall enough to shoot over the dip in it and basically nailed me point blank on the side of the head it rung my bell but good. I couldn’t hear for a moment as I was shell shocked a bit.
When I first started playing, I got shot by a friendly in the back of the head and damn near passed out! Currently, I wear a skull cap with headband. Still hurts and bruises. You mentioned that you still felt being hit, but did it bruise?
This product looks good wish it was around back in the day.... as for my worst headshot was when I ran off break to left 40.. hydropipe then drove and and (bang) shot right just above the goggles left a nice welt the broke skin alittle happened in nepl.when this was checking markers after the game. To make sure they all under the 300fps well other team was shooting 325fps ouch no wonder why it hurt so much... well anyhow my head is find and still not dented from this lol....keep up the videos... good job...

It was freezing outside and I wanted to see what getting hit felt like. Before playing basically a game of hide and shoot the target (we only had the one pistol to play with), I asked Mark to shoot me. I turned my back thinking I'd take one in the back, but he shot me from 3 feet away in the back of the head. I don't know if my skull was thinner as a 13 yo kid, but I saw stars and it hurt for days. ;)
Went paintballing for pretty much the first time on Veterans Day and have gone every weekend since. Bought all my own gear after the first time. Have only gotten one headshot and it was while I was flanking a couple dudes, hit one then got the other BUT the guy I shot first decided to stay in and try to light me up. He got me, but he got it right back again.

I would definetely watch more videos of you playing from a 3rd person POV 1st person is good helps you to know the field but some general gameplay here and there cant hurt. Drill day in snake fighting your mirror get to the 50' to win.....i got to to the 50' and got shot almost pointblank.
Worst hit was definitely at Ion 2019, a fellow Allied player shot me at point-blank range in my temple just above the mask... got a big goose-egg knot on my noggin that everyone could see back at camp. Lesson = wear padded headband/beanie!!!
I had a guy who jumped over the snake beam (and my body) but as he jumped he was already shooting and I took 1 round to the top of the mask, 3 across the top of my head, and 2 into my neck/back. After that I realized that I needed to wear some sort of head protection. I initially bought a Beanie but I am from FL but I’m in the military and play in NC and someone’s it gets cold enough but at that point there aren’t many speedball players out there.

While I was busy trying to keep him backed up a 30 year old with a rental shot me point blank in the back of the head. I swear those guns are shooting atleast 380!!!
worst time i've ever gotten shot in the head was the end of last season, i took two to the forehead and one to the top of the head from about 5 feet away, heard ringing for a good 2 hours afterwards and it looked like i got hit in the head with a hammer. the idea of a XL is nice cuz it wouldn't get in the way of my glasses as much. awesome video as always!
First time playing in years, I tell myself "I don't need my headband!". Playing rec ball in a castle with some walk-on's and I took a shot square to my five head. Fall to my butt, seeing stars, ears ringing, thankful that my goggles are tinted in case I start crying like a school girl. The worst part? It didn't break, so I pulled my whimpering self up and kept playing. I've worn some sort of headband every point since then (old Derder wrap!). And I still try to lie to myself and say they were throwing rocks instead of shooting paintballs.
Haven't been hit in the dome yet... but most of my outs are from mask hits. It's only a matter of time lol. I'd definitely like to try these regardless. I've been struggling to find a hat that's feels comfortable under my mask that offers good protection.
I've played twice now, last and this weekend. NAILED in my bald head both times with what felt like hot guns... yesterday brought a tear. I'm fixing this problem now lol

2022 update!!: ITS VERY GOOD. Decided to pull the trigger and get this pricy skull cap for paintball. Got hit 2 feet away and it absorbed alooot of the shot. Still felt it ofc but it didnt leave a lump or anything, not even sore really. Absorbed great. GET THE ORIGINAL NOT THE PRO. The pro has paintball sized circles in the actual foam inside the cap aswell as spaced lines down 4 sides leaving way to much space exposed to protect againts paintballs. I had to return the pro and get the original. The original is fantastic at absorbing the shots and its small and confortable. Its not fat like a lot of bounce caps. Get this cap its really worth it. But not the pro!! It has way to many large holes in the actual foam.

Take a dome shot on camera man! Playing center and took two off the forehead in the identical spot on the same day. Looked like I had a golf ball growing off my forehead. Great video because I saw your World Cup vid and was just going to see what video it was on so I coupd get the name of the company.
Worst shot in the head had to be at an outlaw field. Was my deciding factor in better head protection. Was with a round mo more then 15 feet away, complete accidental shot coming around the corner, came from a team mate. Saw stars, and ringing for about 15 minutes. Had a lump on my head, was called "Unicorn" by the rest of the guys for the rest of the day.
My worst shot was in the back of my head by a teammate. It was a scenario event and he was new player than got scared and when he shot it was in the back of my head. The pain was terrible. Especially when it's just outta nowhere.
Im a snake and mid player, once i was in a local tournament here in Puerto Rico and we were in semi finales i thought we were up bu a body or 2 so i kept advancing in the snake, just to find out the guy was coming to push me and i had no one proctecting me. Took like two on the head and one in the back of the neck those were pretty bad shots haha but wouldnt trade this for the world.
Worst time when playing. Have it on video. Got hit in the ear with my Vio. My head was ringing. The second would be when reffing Chicago. People were just shooting over the snake brick. Even when people weren’t there. It sucks!!!
Now that it has been a while since you posted this I am wondering what your feelings are? Do you still wear it on a regular basis or after a few times did you ditch it? I play in AZ where it is hot but not so humid but still hate wearing beanies here.
My worst head shot was when I went to the center for my first time and tried to wrap and got shot 4 times right above my mask... it was not very pleasant.
Only thing I don’t like about it is how it the band feels on your ears, I flip up the elastic band and it feels much more comfortable. Might have to try a bigger size but I have a regular size head lol
i was about 12 feet away from my friend and he turned around got scared and gave me 5 to the head and i couldn't play for the rest of the day and had the biggest goose egg on my head
I was bunkered in the snake and ended up with what looked like a unicorn horn! I had to go to work that evening. I'm a paramedic so everyone was asking why I looked weirder than usual. Lol
Anybody deal with dizziness issues the day after playing? I got shot in the head about 3 times yesterday and today(8hrs so far) I’ve been dealing with dizziness while moving…
I was crawling behind some logs and sneaky as can be trying to flank a team but then there was someone on the other side of the log and he heard me then ya already know got shot right on the top of my head
The league has the FPS set to 300 to protect the player. Masks now have to be full face unlike when it used to be just goggles as well. The league also made it where you can’t make changes to your mask from the original design from the manufacturer.

Sometimes the ball itself has a hard shell too which doesn’t help!

I have dreads. My hair is really thick and doesn’t fit most regular fitted caps. Does it stain your hair through the cap?

I had to return the pro and get the original. The original is fantastic at absorbing the shots and its small and confortable. Its not fat like a lot of bounce caps. Get this cap its really worth it. But not the pro!! It has way to many large holes in the actual foam.

But yeah, the pro version has big holes size of paintballs and big space in the 4 linings that run down the sides. Thank you though bro! This is a great cap, pricey though, but worth it.

How does it feel on terms of pain?
Take a dome shot on camera man! Playing center and took two off the forehead in the identical spot on the same day. Looked like I had a golf ball growing off my forehead. Great video because I saw your World Cup vid and was just going to see what video it was on so I coupd get the name of the company.
Worst shot in the head had to be at an outlaw field. Was my deciding factor in better head protection. Was with a round mo more then 15 feet away, complete accidental shot coming around the corner, came from a team mate. Saw stars, and ringing for about 15 minutes. Had a lump on my head, was called "Unicorn" by the rest of the guys for the rest of the day.

My worst shot was in the back of my head by a teammate. It was a scenario event and he was new player than got scared and when he shot it was in the back of my head. The pain was terrible. Especially when it's just outta nowhere.
Im a snake and mid player, once i was in a local tournament here in Puerto Rico and we were in semi finales i thought we were up bu a body or 2 so i kept advancing in the snake, just to find out the guy was coming to push me and i had no one proctecting me. Took like two on the head and one in the back of the neck those were pretty bad shots haha but wouldnt trade this for the world.
Worst time when playing. Have it on video.
Got hit in the ear with my Vio. My head was ringing.
The second would be when reffing Chicago. People were just shooting over the snake brick. Even when people weren’t there. It sucks!!!
Now that it has been a while since you posted this I am wondering what your feelings are? Do you still wear it on a regular basis or after a few times did you ditch it? I play in AZ where it is hot but not so humid but still hate wearing beanies here.

My worst head shot was when I went to the center for my first time and tried to wrap and got shot 4 times right above my mask... it was not very pleasant.
Only thing I don’t like about it is how it the band feels on your ears, I flip up the elastic band and it feels much more comfortable. Might have to try a bigger size but I have a regular size head lol

You could wear it without a headband I’d think. The back of your head would just show more.
Has anybody tried getting shot with a first strike?
Anybody deal with dizziness issues the day after playing? I got shot in the head about 3 times yesterday and today(8hrs so far) I’ve been dealing with dizziness while moving…
Make sure you are drinking enough fluids when you play. Also the paint may have been shot too high of velocity.
I was crawling behind some logs and sneaky as can be trying to flank a team but then there was someone on the other side of the log and he heard me then ya already know got shot right on the top of my head
My worst time getting shot in the head was when I was playing on the dorito side and got shot in the head about 7 times.
Off the break, I was gonna go to D2 so I went to dive, and mid dive I got shot in the back of the head by my teammate.
Once got shot directly in the forehead on a day where I forgot my beanie 🤣 felt something like a matchbox car hitting my skull hurt so bad.

Fortunately i have not been shot in my head. Just my mask and my neck. Neck shots are the worst.
Paintball really needs to do more for player safety. Head protection should be required. I guess they are afraid to admit it. Could open up lawsuits.
It’s up to the player. Ultimately some people like just a headband. I know a semipro player who doesn’t wear any headgear haha.
@@howtoplaypaintball No. It is the responsibility of the league to set the standard for the sport.
The league has the FPS set to 300 to protect the player. Masks now have to be full face unlike when it used to be just goggles as well. The league also made it where you can’t make changes to your mask from the original design from the manufacturer.
@@howtoplaypaintball The US Gov. set the 300fps rule. Everything you said is good, but it still does not protect the players head from concussions.
