It still gets me how in other countries they shift these tractors like semis and use the fuel pedals. Growing up on a farm in America I never saw anyone shift tractors like that and for the most part we stayed off of the pedal and used the hand throttle to set an RPM dependent on the task. We just throw them in high gear and go. Might be a small upshift if you're pulling something and later on of course tractors started coming out with ranges that you could "shift" through by just moving the lever from a to b to c etc... no clutch action required. Our 4020 diesel was a powershift which was cutting edge when those came out in the late 60s early 70s.
Many years ago when my father taught me to drive a tractor he said never ever use the hand throttle on the road. If anything goes wrong then you're out of control AT FULL THROTTLE
@@daneenmurf1043that’s technology now days, tractors iv seen in person have 6 different levers and has clutch and ect and i also heard that those are easy to fix compared to now day tractors. I know from stories that john deere has a antenna that connects to the dealership so when it breaks down and you fix it, it will not let you use it because the dealership is the only people to fix it which is bs, it takes thousands of dollars just to bring a tractor to the dealership and thousands to fix it…

the 1455 is my hobby tractor, and we use it sometimes when we are busy, like in the maize season, but I also like our masseys! but nothing beats the sound of my 1455 :)
