@@sentry007 no before that when Goku couldn't keep up with Freeza a bit after he revealed his 50% then King Kai said he was already using his maximum Kaioken (at the time).
Top Kaioken moment, The Kamehameha vs Galick Gun moment where Goku was at 3X Kaioken and you can see how his body reacted to the sudden power change when he turned up The Kaioken from x3 to x4.
Okay, but, again... SSG+Kaioken. One form grants a passive healing factor. The other damages your body through exertion. _And they're both red._ EXPLAIN
Wait, Super Saiyan God is just Base form Goku using God Ki, no Super Saiyan transformation, so theoretically, Goku would just use Kaioken with God Ki combined.
@@bigpoggers6507 Super saiyan God is just Base Goku but with God ki plus as stated from Power levels its a 20k Multiplier while SSJB is just Super Saiyan with God ki but doesnt have the Healing factor its less Stable but gives you 50k or 30k Multiplier if im correct
I like the theory that the use of kaioken is what caused Goku's heart issues in the android saga, and that is why he doesn't use it anymore. Even after healing, there is no way his heart was better, until after he was ressurected of course.
@@MattGarZero I mean he did stop using kaioken, but kept eating like a monster even when he was sick/recovering. However, if his eating habits did cause it, that's fucking funny. Imagine being able to beat Goku just by marrying him and feeding him for about 20 years just so he can die from being unhealthy.
That theory is ingenious. Especially because Tom Cowan MD recently wrote the book "Truth About Contagion" stating that viruses and perhaps even bacterium are not actually contagious but rather they initiate a detoxification process in the diseased. That would mean Goku could not have picked up any pathogen on Yardrat but actually his poor eating habits did him in.
@@MattGarZero I recently learned that a goal of humanity may be to learn how to be fully satiated after eating just one apple per day. I have a black belt in kung fu and study pi gu chi kung aka energy fasting so ima try it out. May take me 100 years to get my body ready doe...
I belive piccolo could master it. He could probably hold anything 10x or less almost indefinitely while awake. And with his healing factor he could train and go higher faster then any other charecter and it would've let him keep up with the sayins.
it infuriates me that the z fighters spent time with King Kai and NONE of them learned it. further more why is NO ONE else learning to use God Ki?? or atleast trying to. because its the "Goku" show, thats why. might aswell just rename it Dragon Ball Goku. Why even bring these characters back from the dead if they're not gonna contribute to the story??
While I agree that the others need more love, their bodies couldn’t handle the kaioken. Wasn’t Goku the first person King Kai taught it to? Buu could do it
I still feel like kaioken had the possibility of evolution, particularly with the other human warriors. Finding a way to negate the effects of kaioken on the body could have been the creation of something new all together.
Well Tien Shenlong/Shenrong I wish the kaioken doesn't have a negative effect on me Tien, Hey beerus let's fight, Tien Kaioken 1Trillion times, Tri beam Beerus=Dead

@@sofiacalado8836 honestly, that whole 'can't go beyond the maker's power' is absolute bullshit. Or the namekians has the power to revive everyone on earth within a few seconds.
Kaioken x20 vs Frieza was my favorite use of the technique. His most dangerous trump card, mastered and pushed to its fullest, could only keep pace with Frieza at 50% power. Back when going Super Saiyan meant something.
I always thought that it should be possible to stack Kaioken on top of Mastered Super Saiyan. I mean. Goku basically made that transformation his base, no emotional turmoil, such perfect control to the point a rock could hurt him within his lowered and controlled power. But I understand why, imagine a Super Kaioken x4. Bam. Instant Super Saiyan 3 level of power. x10, or hell, x20? Imagine fighting THAT.
Actually your doing the Math wrong to how SS2 and SS3 work is that theyre 2x Stronger to their Counter part or Past Evolution as Stated from Goku same as Super saiyan 2 in Cell games and Super saiyan 3 in Buu arc basically i have *1 Base Power and i used Super Saiyan which is a 50x Multiplier now i have 50 base power now times that with SS2 and i got 100 SS3 and i have 200 but it stops there since God ki is way waaaay stronger than Base Ki*
But yeah he can probably stack Super Saiyan with Kaioken since he also said on Cell games that he almost forgot to turn Super saiyan off since of his Mastered control
DUDE! Kaioken was THE best power-up EVER! All those transformations really got stale over time, so having a TECHNIQUE to boost one's power is a nice change (i know Kaioken appeared before all the transformations), and the risk adds to the intensity of its use!
Also why UI is the best addition to super, it is a technique, a cool one at that giving it a greater presence then just "Super saiyan green" or something like that
How is a power-up that physically hurts your body because said body can't withstand the power and said power might break all the bones in your body, make your muscles tense up to the point it hurts you, disrupts your ki on a high level and could even kill you the best ever?
@@synister9059 because it does those things. The super saiyan transformations are boring because using them has 0 risk. The first transformation can be good: SS Goku Vs Frieza, SS2 Gohan Vs Super Perfect Cell. But all subsequent fights are less interesting as a consequence. Notably in the Show I would mark that either fights start in Super Saiyan, which is the smart but boring decision, or they transform later and we know they won't lose without displaying the Transformation. Kaioken is strong, has an associated cost, and can be used by anyone.
@@synister9059 Because that's good writing. You don't write a superweapon without downsides. It's like asking why the Halo rings are awesome despite killing all life in the galaxy, or asking why the Star Forge is awesome despite warping the mind of anyone who uses it, or asking why the Doctor's TARDIS is awesome when he can't set the location and it has put him in situations where all he can do is watch in horror and fail to save anyone (The Waters of Mars for example).
@@PosthumanHeresy "you don't write a superweapon without downside" only downside all SSJ forms have is stamina also they learned how to master SSJ1 without wasting any stamina I'm pretty sure they did the same with SSJ2 it's only a matter of time they do the same with SSG & SSGSS
Absolutely I am a Kaio-ken warrior! That SANBAIKAIOOOOOKEEEEEN attack on Vegeta's face was to die for. Even in Xenoverse I love using it over supersaiyan, just because it comes at a cost.
You know if uub used kaioken he could negate the side effects of the lesser kaioken like everything leading up to 10 but after that his majin healing could only get him so far if he didn’t master kaioken but if he did kaioken would not affect him at all Which could bring the kaioken back In the front lines since uub has no real transformation

I wish more characters use the Kaio-Ken, we could have gotten a "Rock-Lee VS Gaara" type of fight in Dragon ball with the human characters if one of them took the Kaio-ken to a limit goku didn't and it would have been perfect in the cell saga where piccolo, the androids and cell surpass by far the powers of a Super Saiyan. Imagine Tien going toe to toe against semi-perfect cell in kaio-ken? bruh that would have been epic!
I would love to see Tien come back to relevance with the Kaioken. Handwave that he can push it further by default because of his weird triclops biology and his lifetime of hermit training both making his body more durable and his mind really ready to master it, allowing him to train it up way beyond anyone else to the point of matching Goku again. Him and Piccolo both are just good characters via their disconnect from everyone else.
A in universe reason cell didn't use kioken would be that he has never used it before. And kioken takes much skill and practice. By time he also needed to take the risk he also lost his composer.
Cell should be able to use kaioken flawlessly he literally has gokus cells in him it would make him a natural at it. The other genes from other z fighters and villains would've helped him be able to pull the technique off easily.
@@Agenthoneydew33 you did read the word practice. Goku had to use it multiple times before he could fo so in combat. Further your body needs to get used to the technique.
Unpopular opinion: the kaioken is a powerful supporting technique Because in it self can surpass SSJ if you have a base power level of 100,000 and have more experience with it. And imagine this the ikari form(150,000PL) AND KaiokenX20 It surpasses SSJ itself
I never thought about cell, wow he would certainly be the best due to the zenkai and his supremely high skill level, he practically has a sharringan dude learned instant transmission after seeing it a few times, he didn't need any explanation
Cell with Kaioken would be downright crazy! And now I'm imagining what a Golden Cell SSB Kaioken x20 would be like... I think Cell is potentially the most broken character in all of Dragon Ball. With Piccolo's cells there's also the possibility of him being able to utilize Namekian fusion.
I always wanted the other z fighters, especially Yamaha n piccolo to learn kaioken as their way to try n keep up w goku which would b perfect cuz it's dangerous every time and fits in cannon
I think Vegeta should get his own version of kaio-ken that's merged with his ultra ego in order to bring ultra ego to become perfected ultra ego, it make sense because ultra ego is about dealing damage and big damage but the only downfall is that Vegeta has to get to that point by using ultra ego, hense why giving Vegeta his own version of kaio-ken combined I think he would finally be on the tier of ultra instinct
Ultra ego is the equivalent to ultra instinct. Goku never uses kaioken with any of his transformations in the manga. He fights hit using ssg and turning into blue to get the upper hand when needed. Blue drains a lot of stamina in the manga. And against merged zamasu it’s perfected ssb which is used. No kaioken addition whatsoever really so wouldn’t make sense for vegeta to use it on top of ultra ego let alone use it. He didn’t even want to use instant transmission and only did so once
This is just me, but I think Ultra Ego compliments Vegeta's Majin state (Majin Vegeta) and vice versa. If we look it up, Majin Vegeta is described as "Vegeta's dark nature is reawakened and he becomes more powerful than he was before (thanks to Babidi's magic unlocking his potential), the Manipulation Sorcery also gives him other special traits - including a seemingly unlimited stamina supply and the ability to survive and heal from injuries in an almost zombie-like way." Ultra Ego on the other hand is best described as, "Ultra Ego allows the user's overall power to increase as they take more damage and delve more into their lust for battle. This is displayed by Vegeta's deeper dive into his Saiyan instincts. Being able to endure and even enjoy the pain inflicted by enemy attacks can also allow the user to hold their ground and counterattack through openings in an attacking opponent's guard with even greater power." By combining those two, a "WHAT IF" power up can be assigned to Vegeta and his new form will be Ultra Ego Majin Vegeta. Kinda over the top name but as long as it can work, why not. Imagine Vegeta tanking massive damage thru UE but easily heals up plus endless stamina because of his Majin form. Damn. In return he can pummel back those massive damage to his opponent because of UE. Pretty unstoppable if you ask me. 😅😅😅 And one more thing, for me Majin Vegeta is the OG Ultra Ego. 😁😁😁
I've always thought it was weird that Goku has dropped the Kaioken from his moveset. The dude took a year to master super saiyan to a point where it no longer strained his KI. Why did he never take the time to master Kaioken for the same results? Imagine how crazy Ultra Instinct would be paired with a Kaioken boost. I also just assumed Gohan would have learned the Kaioken as well and perhaps be the one to truly master it. Gohan was always the calmer and more levelheaded fighter of the saiyan z fighters. Gawd I wish Gohan was given a proper chance.
I consider mastering Kaio-Ken equal to being able to keep it stable, even more mastery is shown if he can do it for minutes. I don't think the level of the Kaio-Ken matters, since at the very start Goku would barely let it on for a few seconds if even that since the fights were much faster than they looked like in the show. He would usually turn it on and off and use it only for a small rush of attacks or a single big one. More multipliers just depends on if your body is strong enough to handle it, but that's different than the mind handling it, and while it does put a strain on the body, this strain is mostly from just the raw energy and not an inherent effect of the technique, the technique by itself is purely mental (which is the main difference with transformations like Super Saiyan, that changes the user on a physical level as well). The beam struggle with Vegeta was likely nearly instant. While in Super we have confirmation from the 1 minute per episode format that he can mantain it up for a few minutes, which is a lot in Dragon Ball fight time. If that's not mastery I dunno what is. Of course, you can say that then he still hasn't mastered it because he can keep increasing the time forever, but mastery doesn't mean reaching perfection, it just means you went up to a level where you could be considered a master of it.
I 100% agree with you. Being able to further increase the multiplier on Kaioken doesn't mean he hasn't mastered it. Honestly I don't think the technique *has* any specific peak.
@Masterwar15 The question you guys should be asking is how strong would someone have to be for kaioken to have no effect on the body? If the drawback from using kaioken never changes, then mastery of the technique would mean being able to use the technique at it's max in an instant giving yourself a cool down in-between.
@@Agenthoneydew33 Honestly, never. And that's one of the reasons why it was a good technique even if OP. The drawbacks are always there but the trade-off is worth. Especially when you consider how back in early DBZ moves could have power levels several times stronger than the person's overall ki levels. Narratively and mechanically speaking Kaio-ken is a relatively great move that could've aided in the expanding the kind of nonexistent lore of dragon ball. And the reason I say never is because a 2x power boost would almost always strain their body since that's power the body doesn't have access to normally. Though the more I think on the more it sounds like kaio-ken could be used as a consistent training device (for the humans too)🤔 Imagine constantly increasing your power level because you consistently use Kaio-ken 2x to increase your bodies capability
Hands down my favorite Kaioken is during the Saiyan saga when Goku for the first time uses the 3X Kaioken. Not only does this backfire later on but it also leads to an insanely cool scene with Goku going berserk with an insane one-hit attack.
My favorite Kaioken moment (even tho it was ineffective) was the Ocean Dub Tree of Might Goku screaming “KIAOOO-KEN….. TIIIMES TEEEEEEEEENN!!!!!” With his eyes closed and everything because he knew that shit was going to hurt.
In-universe, I always wondered if Goku's and Gogeta's SSJ Blue forms in DBS: Broly were partially integrated with Kaioken since the aura was more purplish and had many red flashes.
Actully Thats another stage of ssb in the manga Its called Super saiyan god super saiyan (Kaioken blue) he doesnt really use the kaioken, but his mastered ssb form takes a red aura
It probably was just the animators trying to make it look cool since literally every single time goku has used Kaioken he has said Kaioken at least one time
The main thing about the Kaio Ken that i figured out is that your body will never truly adjust to the higher levels, but the more that you use the technique, the more you will actually raise your base, as your body will start to adjust to those levels, which is part of the reason why it will always have drawbacks. Every time you use it, it multiplies your current base, which with constant use that will change. The technique is honestly a really good training technique, as the higher the level you can use, the faster you can grow.
Currently writing an over 600,000 word fan work that starts at The Saiyan Saga. Of course, since its a fanfic I changed a few things with how it works and who uses it. The Kaio-Ken's main users in the series are Goku, Tien, Moro, and Beerus. The technique was created by Grand Kai and adopted by Beerus seeing as it was one of the only relevant techniques capable of actually drawing out more power from him as when you reach God of Destruction levels, you don't really get much stronger. Kaio-Ken is also personal, it is not red, it adapts to the colours that are well liked by the user so Goku's is red, Tien's is green, Beerus' is purple, and Moro's is grey. There are also 4 variants of Kaio-Ken of course taught by the North, South, East, and West Kai, each having their own say on how the technique is performed and what benefits they draw from it. Southern Style Kaio-Ken is regarded as the best of the three since it doesn't increase power all that much and instead focuses on sharpening the senses and is the least taxing.
@@DullyPrimary Kaio-Ken is not a multiplier in my fan work so each style being different actually has tangibility to it and there would be a reason you would chose one over the other. Eastern Style Kaio-Ken is all about focusing on increasing speed and momentum whereas Western Style Kaio-Ken is the most stressful on the body by pulling out the most latent potential of the user and increasing their striking power and durability though you wouldn't necessary prefer to rely on Western Style to tank a hit since you'll take a lot of damage trying to not take damage. The meta would be if you would die from an attack without Western Style amping your defence in which case it would be worth it to try and defend.
@@Kami____ It's called Yo! Son Goku and friends! But any mention of the site or whatever gets deleted. It's why I've started referring to it as fan work or fan writing.
My favorite of all time has to be the Kaioken x20 against Frieza. Watching it when it was being aired for the first time on US TV as a kid and after seeing my childhood hero being ruthlessly beaten for several episodes, seeing Goku rise against all odds in a seemingly hopeless situation and putting Frieza on the ropes and almost beating him is something I’ll never forget.
Keep in mind, a technique are something where you can master, meaning just like ultra instinct (which is also a technique) it can be mastered, meaning he is technically able to completely master kaioken and practically make it so there’s no down side, imagine him mastering this technique to the limit (like he has full control over it and can maintain his multiplier without hurting his power) and him goin kaioken x 100, first of all it CAN be a thing (I’m not introducing fanmade shit into this cuz Ik what y’all are thinking) but if he can master this, that is able to be a thing, ultra instinct and his kaioken are confirmed as techniques so these techniques can be mastered by him
The Kaioken probably has some sort of limit to it's multipliers. For simplicity, x50 or x100 seems like a good ending point. x20 definitely isn't the cap for it. Kind of a weird number to end on. Not as weird as "KAIOKEN X SIXTYEIGHT MILLION, NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO!!" but you get my point.
Nah, it definitely doesn't scale that high ones you reach a certain level of power. Manga during ToP arc literally has the confirmation that Goku can use the principles of Kaioken to Amp up SSB, but Whis and Jiren both saw that it is extremely wasteful and not worth it. Meaning the Max Kaioken boost that it can provide ISN'T worth the Risk, and as we already saw, it did nothing to Manga Jiren.
My favorite moment is kaioken goku vs final form cooler in which goku kept amplifying his kaioken but wasn't enough for cooler. It was great to see it comeback, despite not being enough to beat him
Given that the other technique King Kai taught Goku borrows energy from outside sources, I think the Kaioken TAKES outside energy & uses it to supercharge the molecules of the body. This would explain the heat, boosted speed & backlash on the user. And if taken too far, would blow him(or any mortal) to bits. Plus, with the translation "Worlds of Destruction Fist", I could see the Kaioken being a technique meant for/developed by the Gods of Destruction like Beerus! Able to wipe out entire galaxies Saitama-style! 👊😎👍
While all three of the moments you listed are great, my favorite moment was on Namek when they revealed he was using kaioken for a mere split second while he was attacking so that it wouldn't put undue strain on his body. He had essentially mastered the skill.
I must say, the multiplier of the Kaiô-Ken is wierd: two times is like 3 and 3 is like 4. Oh! And one more thing: why in Kaiô Sama's name did Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Yamcha and Piccolo not learn the technique?
The other z warriors would probably explode due to the lack of Saiyan durability and prowess in ki manipulation. Yaumcha going kaio ken x 2 would probably cause him to pop like kirillin on namek. Speaking of krillin since he never made it to king kais planet and despite that still keeps up with the other zfighters makes him the most likely candidate to be able to handle kaioken
The first stage of Kaio-Ken is more of an enhancement of the body than a figurative multiplier, although if it had one, I do believe it would X1.5. And then X2, then C3 and onward. Because if Kaio-Ken X2 was actually X3, then Goku shouldn’t have needed to go X3 against Vegeta or X4 during the beam struggle. People think it’s a dubism, but it’s not.
I always had issues with this 2x domination ect scale. It just dosnt make sense. I mean someone with a powe level of 2 vs 4 is a big difference to 2 fighters with a power level of 500,000 vs 1,000,000. The larger the power levels get the less it makes sense. At lower levels sure but at higher levels you wouldn't need as big a gap to create the same outcome as your output is massively different. I get what its trying to do, put it all in a neat tidy box which for some reason is really important to alot of the dragonball fandom. Everything has to add up neat and tidy.... but... it just dosnt make sense.
In the early Z, you just needed like 100 units more to bodied someone, but right now characters have differences of millions, and still fight like they were equal

Technically didn’t King Kai and Goku say that the version of Kaioken amplifies all the traits he uses in a fight and like they imply that it can be used for other traits as well? So technically the Androids could learn the kaioken but instead of amplifying the traits they use in a fight by amplifying Ki they just use it to amplify their energy
Actually only cell would be able to “Master” the kaioken… but only in that his body would become infinitely stronger and thus he’d be able to use higher and higher kaioken multipliers as time passes easily
the Kaioken is a glass cannon technique. you can ditch out above your weight class. BUT you MUST try to intercept the blows coming your way, because you can't tank them any more than normal. While the super saiyan is a change of weight class at the cost of stamina.
Yeah I think the Kaioken should've been passed on to Piccolo and after fusing with Kami, he could show that he doesn't need it against 17 but when Cell arrives, he uses Kaioken on top of the Kami fusion power up.
Great video! I personally think that the Kaioken would work best with the Ultimate/Mystic form. Because you can unleash your full potential with minimum to no stamina or energy drain. And you can stack up Kaioken as high as possible without ever going through super saiyan transformations. This would've worked perfectly for Gohan
Kaioken is called "ben tun qi" in Traditional Chinese Medcine (TCM) or "running piglet chi." It means panic attack and is a great way to commit suicide by swiftly inducing hemorrhagic stroke. That's why Goku explained to Krillin should the technique backfire he could explode i.e. a brain vessel would rupture. It is a necessary technique to learn for spiritual development, but if one ever has to use it in battle then that implies one is out of their league and will require help to triumph their opponents. Hence why Goku needed help to beat Vegeta, Frieza and Jiren, and even died against Hit which speaks volumes. At least it worked against Nappa lol. The mode of action is a power flush of the blood vessels, or energy meridians, by straining the myocardium aka heart muscle. There are 20 levels of Kaioken because there are 20 energy meridians in total. It's similar to the "opening the 8 gates" technique in Naruto.
Ssj blue kaioken is my favourite moment that’s were it’s shown to be a technique also the blood red sharp aura plus the fire blue aura looks amazing to me
Let me Break Down Kaioken for our boy here: Kaioken (even though stated to not have a max) has a maximum state (Maximum Kaioken (DB Fusions)). Also Goku mastered Kaioken x20 on top of SSB in the anime (DBS). Manga (idk, even though manga version is stronger). The mastery was stated by Krillin First, next Whis, then confirmed by Toriyama. Kaioken x20 Goku was stated, by Toriyama, to be equal to SSBE Vegeta’s form. Not to mention, you’re not using the strongest Goku either, which makes this funny. Because he uses Kaioken several times, and so do the fusions Gogeta and Vegito. Gohkan can’t handle it and neither can the other fusions with Goku, besides the two stated (even though it hasn’t been truly confirmed they haven’t had experience). Goku used Kaioken x100 on Slug which almost killed him. Cooler was stated to fight Kaioken x20 Goku within the first two movies. Last one was just a beat down until overcharging Cooler’s system.
I don't think it was Toriyama who said Blue Kaioken and Blue Evolution were equal. I thought it was one of the DBS Episode writers. Also about DBS manga, it was confirmed Kaioken Blue in a V Jump guide. I don't know if that technically counts as Toriyama either. I always thought Goku was using Kaiokenx20 vs Cooler, but I didn't know it was stated. Where does that come from?
The good thing about Kaioken is that it wasnt a powerup that would overpower an enemy at first but would be capable of doing so when the ability is increased to another multiplier, such as the first Kaioken multiplier (x2) made Goku have a power of 16,000 compared to Vegeta’s 18,000, and that it took a x3 kaioken multiplier to become stronger than Vegeta, and 4 times to best the Galick Gun, with added bodily stress for using the x3 and x4 versions
@Saiyan Scholar, Movie/Gt power levels can be another topic.. .. Especially comparing the og Db - Bojack movie power levels, to their canon counterparts.
There’s another reason why someone would need a calm and focused mind to pull off the technique. It multiplies every aspect of your stats. That includes your perception, intuition, vision, speed, power. When your body goes from being able to exert x amount of force or speed to 20x, it’s going to take quite a bit of mental fortitude to perform correctly. It would be like if you all the sudden were crushing door knobs, ripping doors and limbs off, jumping 1 mile when you meant to take one step. People say goku is stupid but his body is basically a calculus and non Newtonian physics super computer. Dude is traveling at superluminal speeds and exerting super massive black hole and Big Bang levels of energy during his fights and he’s able to stop collateral damage. And when you get into super levels of power your talking about practically infinite levels of power. So kaioken really isn’t doing multipliers anymore. It couldn’t.
King Kai may have stated that Lord Slug ad a Super Namekian is stronger than Frieza, but you also have to consider that King Kai didn't know about Frieza's final form.
Here's something to think about: what if someone gathered the dragon balls, wished to be immortal (with perfect regen, infinite lifespan, pain immunity, etc.), and then learned the Kaio-ken? Personally, if I were in the Dragon Ball 'verse, that's what I'd do.
Oh my gosh, could that actually work? I mean, being immortal might not guarantee endless stamina, just meaning you can't get hurt.... buuuuut, if you can't get hurt then you couldn't feel pain... Hrmmm, thinking about that stuff hurts ma brain.
@@birb2330 I'd like to think pain immunity and all those other benefits would come as part of the immortality package. Before I waste a wish on something I'd already get, might as well ask Shenron for the details of immortality just to confirm my thoughts.
@@SSB_Master_Hand but by logic, you don't need resistance to suffering, because you can't die of pain, but just pass out, do you go crazy , and the pain will remain.
Tenshinhan! I can only imagine a Kaioken powered Shin Kikoho. We all know he would do it. He would train with the technique every day and try to improve it.
God bless Tien, the poor bastard. Honestly, Tien with Kaioken blasting out Shin Kikohos seems like a gimmick character I'd make in a tabletop game. "Yes, I would, in fact, like to KO myself turn 1. Why? Because it's cool! And just LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS!"
Man when the anime comes back I hope Toei keeps using SSJBKK and don't get rid of it just to strictly follow Toriyama's manga. That's one of the best ideas Super had, using the calm nature of SSJB to bring back KK. Kinda pisses me off honestly Toriyama didn't adopt that into the Manga and just with boring ass "Mastered SSJB" instead. Problem with the Mastered forms is there is nothing special about them. MSSJ in the Cell Games just looked like SSJ1, it was just stronger. MSSJB just looks like SSJB, just stronger. Having Kaioken in there adds a cool visual effect with the red aura, and Goku is putting his body and/or stamina at risk to boost his power, rather then Mastered forms that is just a power up with no visual changes and no downside. Huh, when you think about it these Mastered forms are no more then just lazy writing. Sadly we're most likely not going to see Kaioken when Moro and Granolah gets adopted to anime all because it's not in the Manga. But it would be awesome if Toei went "Well we used Kaioken in all Super's first animated run, we can't just get rid of it out of the blue half way though the show."
you could also make a argument of mastered blue (manga) being derived from the energy control principles of kaioken that is why on the battle against jiren goku used a kaioken-like technique instead of the normal kaioken, also why he came up with the idea in the first place.
The power of kioken flows through out the entire body. If you screw up many things can go wrong. You can give yourself a heart attack. You could explode. You could blow up just part of yourself like your heart. You could tear your body apart bit by bit.
I feel like from a story point of view, the Kaioken might be a crude imitation of the Ultra instinct technique of the Angels. The Kais know of the angels and the god of destruction so it is possible that King kai created the Kaioken after seeing them use ultra instinct ,because both these moves provide an increase to base stats (Kaioken provides it to mostly damage and speed and physical aspects whereas ultra instinct does for all stats) It might also explain why Goku was able to achieve ultra instinct faster , coz his body is familiar with Kaioken, and the reason why his UI state doesnt last as long can be that UI does the same thing to god Ki flow that Kaioken does to normal Ki flow. Anyway that's just fun thought I had
I wish they can write a story where they used the dragon balls to see how the humans can become super humans like goku did to go super sayain god lol and even piccolo to become an acended super namekian!
Kaioken Blue is why I believe the writers will take Goku in a direction of finding higher levels of Super Saiyan Blue to fuse with Ultra Instinct or, the harder path, learning to have a calm golden hair Super Sayian form go UI.
It also should be mentioned that Goku is using that 20x Kaioken in a transformed state, meaning that has to use the transformed state as a gap in order to even hold the 20x for as long as he does, which means in base he would not be able to do so, even though his base is dozens higher than it was in the last time he used 20x in official canon, Outside of Super
I believe he has mastered it. He has mastered the 'technique' at a given time he can utilize it correctly and to it purpose. Its goal is to multiply power. Boom he can multiply his power. The limits are always changing because he is always getting more powerful. The execution is perfected.

Kaioken is my all time favorite thing. It felt so classically dragonball, none of these transformation bits and all that, just a dangerous oh shit button. Now you never see Goku fighting in his base form, its always Super Sayian blue or some shit.
Super Kiao Ken was pretty cool to me. The idea of a brief and desperate power up awesome. Somewhat like Trans-Am from the 00 Gundam series which most likely took inspiration from Kiao Ken.
It's stated in the manga the the Kaioken technique requires a clear mind and precise control otherwise the amplified power will break down your body as stated in issue 227. This is the reason it is canonically not able to function with SSJ as the super saiyan form is fueled off of emotion, mostly anger. The tranquil state of SSJB in super as well as the series focusing on greater ki control is what leads Goku into thinking he would be able to use the technique once again. Personally I love the technique, visually it's striking and exudes power. As a storytelling tool it also lets the audience know that Goku is in a corner as he has to weigh the consequences of forcibly amplifying his power as well. I'm glad they brought it back.
I thought this video was going to be about the debate of "Is Kaioken x2 a 2x multiplier, if so how much of a boost is a base Kaioken?" But this works as well, great video as always!
I'll never forget the plot twist of Goku actually already using the Kaioken times ten in the manga, since you can't distinguish the color of Ki.

Ultra ego is above UI
@@clovewhite7624 I can see how it is but I also see how it isn't above it at the same time
Ultra ego is the equivalent to ultra instinct.
If we look it up, Majin Vegeta is described as "Vegeta's dark nature is reawakened and he becomes more powerful than he was before (thanks to Babidi's magic unlocking his potential), the Manipulation Sorcery also gives him other special traits - including a seemingly unlimited stamina supply and the ability to survive and heal from injuries in an almost zombie-like way."
Ultra Ego on the other hand is best described as, "Ultra Ego allows the user's overall power to increase as they take more damage and delve more into their lust for battle. This is displayed by Vegeta's deeper dive into his Saiyan instincts. Being able to endure and even enjoy the pain inflicted by enemy attacks can also allow the user to hold their ground and counterattack through openings in an attacking opponent's guard with even greater power."
By combining those two, a "WHAT IF" power up can be assigned to Vegeta and his new form will be Ultra Ego Majin Vegeta. 😅😅😅
And one more thing, for me Majin Vegeta is the OG Ultra Ego.
@@Whodjathink kk as a training device wow thats lit

I'd love to adapt that into a series

Keep in mind, a technique are something where you can master, meaning just like ultra instinct (which is also a technique) it can be mastered, meaning he is technically able to completely master kaioken and practically make it so there’s no down side, imagine him mastering this technique to the limit (like he has full control over it and can maintain his multiplier without hurting his power) and him goin kaioken x 100, first of all it CAN be a thing (I’m not introducing fanmade shit into this cuz Ik what y’all are thinking) but if he can master this, that is able to be a thing, ultra instinct and his kaioken are confirmed as techniques so these techniques can be mastered by him
Well made and explanatory video, one of your best!
In my opinion, x50 seems like the best endpoint

Nah, it definitely doesn't scale that high ones you reach a certain level of power. Manga during ToP arc literally has the confirmation that Goku can use the principles of Kaioken to Amp up SSB, but Whis and Jiren both saw that it is extremely wasteful and not worth it. Meaning the Max Kaioken boost that it can provide ISN'T worth the Risk, and as we already saw, it did nothing to Manga Jiren.
I think it could be infinite but you will die in 0.0000000000000000000000000001 seconds from going into millions and billions and stuff
The thing is there's no such thing as a kaioken 2x,that was a dubism, kaioken IS the 2x multiplier. It goes kaioken, kaioken 3x, 4x, etc.

Awesome vid as always
Keep rockin
Nothing makes sense @@parkouremaster
I was introduced to your channel by your "SSJ3 is Stronger than SSJ3" video. And since then I've been thoroughly enjoying your content. It's safe to say that I'm adding you to the list of "UA-camrs who's ads I never skip". Keep up the amazing work! Can't wait to see you hit your next milestone!

Favorite kaioken moment vs Freeza and Final Bout intro music in the background. You are a goddamn role model scholar.
Pretty sure when Goku does Kaioken + Blue then the Kaioken is less effective
Perhaps it works a % increase instead of a flat multiplayer
no it's a multiplier. It's harder on the body with that power
Basically my top kaioken moments are the ones you mentioned saiyan scholar! Love the kaioken moments you mentioned!
Actually only cell would be able to “Master” the kaioken… but only in that his body would become infinitely stronger and thus he’d be able to use higher and higher kaioken multipliers as time passes easily
I loved it when he used it against Hit
SSJ4
- that's like the ultimate form for a saiyan
- i'm not finished
- what?
- SSJ4 KAIOKEN times 20
nerf plz too strong
super saiyan 4 limit breaker kaioken times 100 o_O
I went cautiously into watching this video but WOW! Brilliant analysis!
the Kaioken is a glass cannon technique.
you can ditch out above your weight class.
BUT
you MUST try to intercept the blows coming your way, because you can't tank them any more than normal.
While the super saiyan is a change of weight class at the cost of stamina.
Stay on the grind 100k is only 7k away lets reach this goal together
I wanted piccolo to learn kaioken so bad. I believe he can go farther then goku
Yeah I think the Kaioken should've been passed on to Piccolo and after fusing with Kami, he could show that he doesn't need it against 17 but when Cell arrives, he uses Kaioken on top of the Kami fusion power up.
I’m surprise tien never learned it
same Imageine rest of Z fighter learn Kaioken still be relevant be on par with Goku and Vegeta base form
Ssj blue kaioken is my favourite moment that’s were it’s shown to be a technique also the blood red sharp aura plus the fire blue aura looks amazing to me
Kaio... What?
Yamcha needs the Kaioken
I mean, its not like its gonna make him die any more frequently than he already does.
Let me Break Down Kaioken for our boy here:
Kaioken (even though stated to not have a max) has a maximum state (Maximum Kaioken (DB Fusions)).
I've never played Fusions, but I have a question about Maximum Kaioken.
Is that supposed to be Kaiokenx20 or x100 or something beyond that?
@@Dragonballdave363 it’s something beyond that.
@@Majuub-QuickshotNation thanks man..I wondered if it just meant a maxed kaioken or actually something more. Appreciate ya
@@Dragonballdave363 of course
I don't think it was Toriyama who said Blue Kaioken and Blue Evolution were equal. I thought it was one of the DBS Episode writers.
Also about DBS manga, it was confirmed Kaioken Blue in a V Jump guide. I don't know if that technically counts as Toriyama either.
I always thought Goku was using Kaiokenx20 vs Cooler, but I didn't know it was stated. Where does that come from?
Man this is the video I was waiting for
Kaiowhat?
My favorite kaioken moment is when goku fought against Dr. Wheels henchman and the water when he fight against final form frieza
KAIO WHAT?
Abridged
Kai-oh crap
Finally someone else makes the joke
The good thing about Kaioken is that it wasnt a powerup that would overpower an enemy at first but would be capable of doing so when the ability is increased to another multiplier, such as the first Kaioken multiplier (x2) made Goku have a power of 16,000 compared to Vegeta’s 18,000, and that it took a x3 kaioken multiplier to become stronger than Vegeta, and 4 times to best the Galick Gun, with added bodily stress for using the x3 and x4 versions
Kaioken, super Saiyan and super Saiyan god are my favorite forms (Yeah ik kaioken isn't a form it's just used the same way so I just call it a form)
Ew
@@dixonb.tweenerlegs4225 Exactly
@@dixonb.tweenerlegs4225 why
My favourite form is super saiyan god and super super saiyan since in super the hair colour is darker yellow than in z
@Saiyan Scholar,
Movie/Gt power levels can be another topic..
@@paradoxequinox4104 It's safe to assume infinite stamina comes with the immortality, no worries there.
Immortality doesn't make you immune to pain , it's best to ask for both.
The moment when I saw Goku use Super Saiyan blue kaio ken I was so surprised its my favorite moment in super other than Goku black's introduction
4:58 Fun fact about this one. It was before we got any information about the Super Saiyan multiplier of x50.
you could also make a argument of mastered blue (manga) being derived from the energy control principles of kaioken that is why on the battle against jiren goku used a kaioken-like technique instead of the normal kaioken, also why he came up with the idea in the first place.
Iv been waiting for this.
Loved the fire inalogogy for the Kaioken.
I loved how intense Goku yelling “times ten” in the dub was against hit. The echoing made it way better
Goku can already use Ultra instinct in his sayian forms in was stated in the beginning of the granola arc.
Chiaotzu - Farewell, Mr. Tien. Kaioken times 1000.
Using the aspect of Kaioken that destroys the user to also damage the enemy has great potential.
For so long I really wanted Kaioken to come back in some shape or form and when Goku used it again in Super for SSB Kaioken x10 was awesome
Kaioken is the inspiration of Luffy's Gear Second and Rock Lee's Gates Open
Well I'm a sucker for first impressions. Goku blitzing Nappa and breaking his spine is definitely my favorite. It really showed Goku and this new move meant business
Was the "Kaio-this!" in the thumbnail a reference to the TFS gag where literally nobody knows what the kaioken is and always says "Kaio-what?!"
I started and immediately stopped video at 1:05: even though the video is 9+ months old at the time of my comment: I'd like to remind everyone that "KAIOKEN" is a *TECHNIQUE* [NOT] a ●TRANSFORMATION● That is all, have a great day and enjoy the rest of the video 🥳
P.s: @Saiyan Scholar : DUDE YOUR VIDEOS ROCK, I thought my overall Dragon Ball knowledge was pretty good if i do say so myself, but you've shown me there's a lot of stuff i don't and didn't know and for that, i thank you keep up the amazing work 💪🏾🥳💯💯
That first minute gave me a wave of flashbacks to the original Budokai game calling it the World King fist or something like that. I still call it Kay O'Ken
Kaioken in World's Strongest gotta be my favourite ever (all of them). Peter Kelamis not only pronounces it correctly but it's just....legendary
That, "tingle in your back" scene literally made my jaw drop in the worst way.
Kaioken aura and everything about it is just so cool
Technically speaking instead of exploding, goku could instead redirect the pressure into a ki blast
I thought this video was going to be about the debate of "Is Kaioken x2 a 2x multiplier, if so how much of a boost is a base Kaioken?" But this works as well, great video as always!
