Bro that’s a killer overdrive so.. I’m hearing about small businesses? does this mean we might get a Behind the scenes to some local Guitar builders in amps and ??
@@BuddyBlues 100% agreed! Rob actually sent me Lyla 001 and I just got 022 of the new PCB design in matte green. Such an awesome human being and his hard work is paying off!
@@paulcowart3174 agreed. Definitely a few purchases have been made just to support friend’s businesses and such. The small builder community is one hell of a place to be.
@@BuddyBlues one of my first guitars was a little Epiphone Les Paul Special, when I was in 8th grade.. I played the heeellll out of that thing for about 5-6 years, swapped pups, everything! So Epiphone has a little place in my heart.
Amazing idea! Small businesses need as much help as they can, and it would be great to have an excellent player like you showing them off! Any chance you can get boutique guitar makes also?
Buddy, unlike most, I don't get time to surf The Tube much, but when I do, I truly enjoy the style of your content the best! Thank you, my brother! Now, this is definitely a great alternative to the Timmy...do you have a comparable recommendation on the Greer Lightspeed side of the pedalboard?

Not yet.. there are plenty of ox box reviews I just don't know how to show the app that comes with it.. Shawn Tubbs does a review on youtube that is amazing of the ox box. And yes the jtm 45 will be forever with me and more videos with it to come
@@BuddyBlues Awesome, yea definitely love the way you present your videos, keep it up man! Your doing awesome. Also wanted to ask, how long did it take Nik to complete your amp, im in the process now and super excited!?
I plug into my amp, and from the speaker put of the amp you plug into the ox box. So essentially you're hearing my amp, recorded with a virtual speaker cabinet. Rather than it being Mic'd!
Not as much of a representation for us guy's who don't use those applications but close enough I suppose Seems from all the demo's I've heard through the ox box they all sound killer Easier to do I imagine and always a good tone That's the nature of buying after hearing a demo Not always going to be happy with the results but sometimes are very happy This one seems good Cool
Hi! Thank you for the review. I am trying to get more info or maybe purchase a Lyla drive. But, I cannot find any info online. Please provide more complete contact info? Thank you!!!

The front pick up on the Epiphone sounded so PHAT, I totally get why you love this pedal. Problem is I want all these pedals after hearing you play them Buddy. :) But if they are fighting for space on your pedal board, would it be the Lyla or the Protein? They seem to be in similar gain ranges. I have MESA gold mine for the higher gain stuff already, and really like it.
You ask a very important and intelligent question. "If they are fighting for space on your pedal board". Great question to a problem I had. And the solution was: I bought a bigger board. And both are on there
When fed with a low-noise humbucker guitar signal and clean, isolated power, does this pedal retain a quiet hiss/hum background noise-floor when the Gain knob is maxed? I'm not talking about RF. Is the Lyla any quieter than the original Timmy v2?
It is quieter than the Timmy V2 yes, I am not 100% sure on the first question I dont want to give you wrong information. I think it reacts like any other overdrive pedal with the gain dimed. Sorry if this didn't answer it right
Hopefully he stays small In my experience businesses stay profitable when they are very small or very big That middle level is very precarious Just my two cents Sounds good
But it isn't "literally" a Timmy. It is a modified Timmy. It is more dynamic and in my opinion sounds way better than the Timmy. It also isn't 4 trillion dollars for a pedal. Copycats isn't a nice term in an industry THAT LITERALLY shares 3 or 4 circuits total for over drives. Your opinion is always welcome on my channel, even when it is wrong.
@@BuddyBlues Appreciate it! Timmy news for $169 new. Also, it is precisely a Timmy. No mods have been made other than flipping the directions of the pots around.
It isn’t a Timmy. It has several clipping options added which makes it more versatile. I was going to get Jan Ray recently and ran across this pedal. People talk about the Vemuram being expensive, but look at the price of a Timmy these days. Besides, I’ve had a Timmy and it doesn’t sound quite like this one does

As soon as the world calms down yes!
That's an amazing overdrive, great cleans and fat tone. I like it with the Sheraton, Great playing Buddy.
Finally picked one of these up thanks in no small part to this video.
Killer pedal. Matches perfectly with a semi hollow body. Super dynamic response. Crisp. She’s a keeper for sure.

YES Agree...Minute 1:30 w should raise push-up small builder :)
Sounds great!! Seems that pushed with a booster before will get you into fuzz land... a deli pedal it is.
Yes!! Glad you enjoyed it

You're right, I want it. You stack with the DRV at all yet
Yes and it is so good before but GLORIOUS after. With the Lyla at lower gain
Thats right where I wanted it, right before a benson preamp. K you talked me into it. Great work on the channel, I LOL all the time
