Played this in my Grade 8 RSM piano exam in 1986 (against my teacher's initial advice). Examiner seemed impressed by the choice but I failed by one point. Never gone to achieve what I should have with music, but there's still time eh? When my time is at an end, I want to go out listening to Rach Con 2 like my grandfather who taught me piano did.
It s simply genius... I love every little detail he portrays throughout his unique interpretation. I dont think that s the proper tempo because it s a piano roll but I know he was a virtuoso
Чередующиеся терции между руками в малой октаве. Левая рука (4 и 2 пальцы) : соль и си бемоль; правая рука (2 и 4 пальцы): ля и до. Он меняет текст/импровизирует и в других местах)
Heresy, I know, but I hate the way he plays this (and many of his other pieces). The right hand just sounds so mechanical[/maniacal?]! And what on earth is that noise where he wrote a ppp arpeggiated chord at the end?? Yuck! I see I'm going to be the only one to register a dislike here. Oh well ...
To the best of my knowledge this may not be a recording of him playing, but rather recorded off a Welt-Mignon mechanical player. Although very accurate (more than common player pianos) they could still sound somewhat mechanical.

Listening to the composer himself playing his own compositions is awesome. Thanks

Senz'altro Rachmaninov sia un genio della musica e pianista il più grande nella Storia del pianoforte !..

Not the only one. I hate itt too. Its a terrible performance. I can't imagine, what was going on in his mind as he played it.
He’s the composer, he can do what he wants in his pieces.
@@oplo0349 i believe he knew himself that he's playing not so well :)

@@harvardkarbodie This sounds like a regular acoustic recording to me, not a Welte-Mignon.
Lmao urself Rachmaninov plays is such a scam
