It has to be said that Kerley is a damn monster!! Dude has had injuries, family problems, got a new coach, switch shoe sponsors, just a wild ride! Dug deep to past Coleman the last 10m to make the team!! Qualified out of the craziest Semis EVER!! Then hung with Kishane the whole time and got Bronze!! Literally from barely making the team to getting a Bronze medal!! Much respect to that man!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Fred is one of the only sprinters in the world that has all the tools to run sub 9.7. He’s tall, lean, has the top end/speed maintenance, good enough start, and clutch factor. He just has to put it all together at the right time. He can run 9.69. That being said, putting it together isn’t a guarantee. He could very easily never eclipse his 9.76, but the tools are there.

I rarely comment, but I've got to say Fred Kerley kept Kishane honest making him work all the way to the line...Kishane has not ran against the biggest names so ones he gets to the 60-70m mark he just eases up. Fred staying with him (together with the rest of the field ofc) made him uncomfortable because he was in uncharted territory for the first time this season. @@RishabhSharma10225 The splits don't lie. Bolt's second 100m in his 200m WR was 9.27. If Noah can run a 10.1 in the first 100m and then close with similar speed in the 2022 World Championships with a 9.18 second 100m, he's got the record (btw I doubt he will break the record in his career). Watch Usain's 200m WR, he ran a 9.92 opening 100m and although his second 100m was impressive, countless athletes have run faster for that split. Noah ran 9.16 in his 19.31 and Blake has the fastest split ever at 9.12 in his #2 all-time run of 19.26. Noah is almost at his peak so anything is possible. Also, what you said about 100m PB is a poor metric. Michael Johnson has a 100m PB of 10.09 but a 200m PB/former WR of 19.32. Although he rarely ran 100m, Johnson builds speed over time and I would hardly see him running sub 9.9.

Those guys finished so close together I wanted to see if they had all broken 9.9sec, and I was almost certain they were all easily under 10 sec. Keshane did not relax over the last 20m’s. A few years ago, the track community re-studied Flo Jo and Bobby Kersey’s approach to racing. They both stressed the importance of running relaxed, spending more time in the air, running with more front side mechanics, bouncing and again… RELAX. Recently, This was a huge talking point when the ladies were closing in on the WR. Yet this season, athletes haven’t talked about it much. However this race proved its’ importance. You must manage your indev. race, and compose your Form. If you tie up, or reach for the line, you will compromise relaxation and you will decelerate faster. NVL, K seemed to be battling Fred and simbine and did not regard the rest of the field. Lol Fred and simbine jumped that man 😂 and Noah slid in for the win. This was so entertaining. The fact he got the slowest start and chased down a 9.7 sprinter like Kishane to win by such a small margin was insane. To come from so far behind to win in such a stacked final was truly magnificent to watch. This final was the greatest men's 100m final since the golden era of Usain and co. The debate over the title of "fastest man in the world" actually makes me think of the rivalry between Kerr and Jakob. In 2023, Kerr won gold over Jakob, the world leader in the 1500m, in the world championships. It reminds me of hearing quotes like Kerr was just "the fastest on the day", or hearing other things like he ran the "1 out of 100" race where be won instead. I think it draws parallels to this Olympic final. Just like Kerr did last year, Lyles showed up and preformed when he needed to at the biggest stage, even though he wasnt the world leader. It can be argued whether or not you call this final that "1 in 100" race, but it is very similar in how what many people called Thompson the clear champ the day after he ran 9.77 looking very relaxed just how people said Jakob was unstoppable after he ran 3:27. Just a thought.

      TRP is Noah Lyles fanboy…
