I have that airbrush and honestly it's great. The pressure from its little portable compressor doesn't seem to be as controllable as it should be but for priming, base coating, under-painting etc it definitely does the job. I am not good enough with an airbrush to tell you if it can do small details or not but I would assume that would be it's weakness.
Best cheap brushes I've found are the Rosemary & Co. ones. The Series 33 are exquisite, made from pure Kolinsky Sable and start from under £7 each, but their Series 99 are pure Sable and start under £4. For the less brush friendly jobs, contrast paints, metallics and oils etc, their Red Dots are the best bang for their buck synthetic brushes and super cheap
Coconut fiber is good for woodland basing or any general basing honestly. I use a mix that's made for like lizard pet beds. Also be careful with brushes most are meant for watercolor panting on canvas. Be sure to get short handle. Weasel hair is better for like oil so good for like applying inks and glues.
My Mother-in-law got me the brush cleaner and it's awesome. I had to ticket the 'stopper' screw so it wouldn't slowly drain but it's been such a great tool.
I got some fake detail brushes from Temu and I’m still using them after getting them half a year ago, they’re really good and useful for how cheap they were
Top tip, learn your brushes and what media and painting style they're for or you too will try dry brushing your mini' with a hog bristle stippling/stencilling brush.
The one UV light that's always been consistently good for me rather than the torches (which tend to be of varying brightness) off these discount sites are the UV nail lights with usb adaptors. Had a $10 one that broke after 2 years of service and simply got replaced by a bigger and better one. Super bright, cheap, and perfect for making UV resin casta in oyumaru for basing thanks to the stands.
I have had similar experience on Temu. For terrain bits they have been perfect. I picked up grass tufts in a dozen different colors for $2 a pack. Same thing for UV lights. They were so cheap I bought them just so I could take them apart to build bigger lights with. I was a little worried about the static grass applicator. I built one years ago but wanted a smaller set and theirs fit the bill nicely.
The static grass applicator was very much a shot in the dark. And no idea on how good the more expensive ones are. This one runs off two AA batteries though and I just pop the batteries out when not in use to be safe.
Weirdly I got a double-tiered dishrack for like £3 from Temu on that intro offer and.. well.. I'm showing my age here but it's absolutely bloody brilliant. Since there was free shipping and money off I also ordered a load of those plastic lego-style shipping containers for use as scenery and they're pretty great too.. although it's hard to screw up a plastic box. One thing I'd look for on there discounted if you don't mind waiting for it is the DSPIAE stuff - absolute top notch hobby tools. I've got the ES-P portable USB-C dremel/router thing and next to my tamiya snips it's the best hobby tool I own. EDIT - Ha just noticed you're using one at @6:40 there! Great aren't they?

I have those exact same nylon brushes. I use them to apply glue or texture paste to the bases and such. :D They're perfect for that, have to throw them out after a set of 30 bases or so anyways.
Yeah I found all my cheap crap brushes get used for stuff like that. For nice brushes paid about £6 a pop for Rosemary and Co Kolinsky brushes and they're great. Rather pay that little bit extra for good brushes. For drybrushing I got a load of cheap makeup brushes and they're usually fantastic.
If your package from TEMU got lost, there's a good chance the shipping label was damaged where the post office couldn't read it. This problem is compounded by the fact that they also don't put any kind of shipping invoice inside the package. I know in the US, if the USPS finds a package with no readable addresses (to or from address), they forward it to a department that will open the box to see if there is anything inside that will tell them either were it was going, or where it came from. If there is, they can label the package and put it back in the mail stream.
time to time i want to relax from painting miniatures and order a bunch of chinese bootleg gunplas for like 5 to 10 euros each they are amazing for the price and specifically on those older kits like rx-78, zaku variants, GM they are pretty close to the official product highly recomend if u want to paint something way bigger than the average wargaming miniature

Assuming you have a good local game store, give them your business where you can. Assuming you want the store to stay around. Save online orders for the stuff you can’t get elsewhere, or are insanely discounted. DO NOT buy magnets online. I have never had ones that were as strong as they claimed.
Lots of fair points there, I think for me the biggest issue with my LGS’s is range as in limited. However I do make a point of shopping for the bits that are there when I am in town for exactly this reason. I don’t know if this is true for most folks (I am quite rural) but a hobby trip is at least 3 hours for me and I often can’t get everything. Ref the magnets while they can never support the 2-3 kg they claim they will support the few grams of the arm or base. I also don’t think I could buy magnets locally either but I do not live in a city.
I got one of the static grass applicators a year or so ago - looks identical to the one you showed. Cost less than 20 quid with 6 bags of (really bad) static grass but works perfectly for my needs which is basing minis and 1/10th scale display models. I strongly recommend this if terrain isn't your main use (with the obvious usual caveats). As an aside, also bought a backpack from Temu for less than £11 which would have cost me £30+, the emergency whistle on the strap doesn't work but don't really need it for the 20 min walk to the shops! Temu does seem better than Wish.
Honestly a lot of the stuff is VERY similar/ identical to that on amazon minus the middle man. No doubt the environmental cost of more plane flights is massive though . cheers for watching and the comment
Funny story. I know a British guy who was/is very involved with chinese reprints of warhammer models. Even married a Chinese lady. So a lot of the models aren't "reprints". Back in the early 2000s GW tried to move production to China but fucking failed miserably because they had zero grasp of the immense differences in business practices and culture. Basically acting like big swinging dicks who will sue you ifyou dont fulfill your contractm. But never understood that in China none of that fucking matters. They lost a lot of their money and almost every single mold and master they sent over there. The Chinese started producing mold copies from the original GW molds and masters and producing "recasts" from those. Not making molds from the models. Though that definitely happened too. That's why a lot of the rescasts from China are such good quality, its GW and forgeworld molds with better quality control.

You play a bit the naive one. You get what you pay for. If you find a super low price, you can be sure the quality is up to the price. You can find a ton of good things. If it's imported stuff, the prices are similar to the Western standards. If it's Chinese stuff, well, it depends from the company, like everywhere in the world. By the way, an excellent Korean brand for good quality brushes is Hwahong. Cheaper than Kolinsky and the like.
I am not naiive, but there is plenty of nuance that can’t come across in a video of course. For some items quality really matters, brushes for example and paints for others, at least some of the quality you pay for is packaging. I try to cover higher grade stuff as well on the channel! Also, with the Chinese market, you have to know about the sellers, and their quality. You find an extreme range of tools, objects and equipment. For example, a lots of epoxy putty brands, for a way cheaper price than the precious and expensive green stuff/Milliput. And most of the basic art tools can be find for a fraction of the price you'll get into an art shop. On the other hand, some products, like good primer spray cans, or Modpodge, are almost impossible to find. And painting models paint brands are not as efficient as a classic Vallejo.

You could really search for bits like flowers and everything interesting for the bases, you could find some excellent products.
Dude Temu literally uses knockoffs, loopholes in customs law that don’t apply tariffs on objects under $1,000 and slave labor to make their gear. You shouldn’t accept their money for an endorsement, it’s all blood money.
Hey, this wasn’t a sponsored video, if it was I would have said so. One of the products I bought was a copy (the static grass applicator) but I found the same thing for sale on many other sites too. I did quite a bit of searching for verified sources on labor usage for TEMU before I made this too, if you know of any link them as I would like to take a look. For me it looks like TEMU is made up of lots of small businesses drop shipping globally. Much like Amazon.
Do not use those wannabe buzzsaw blades on your dremel! That's a great way to cut yourself, and dremel has a specific cutting bit that doesn't have sharp edges.
All of this stuff is exactly the same as what brands use. The difference is it's lacking the brand stickers and it's sold by the factory direct. There's no way to avoid sweatshops in our modern age unless you buy local which is going to be expensive.
Good video and solid advice, but something needs to be said about Temu and sites like that. If you can afford not to shop there (no shade because I can't) you should spend your money elsewhere. Those goods are basically all made via slave labor, so it's about the most unethical way to shop. Again, understandable if you can't, but if you can, please avoid it.
This is a very good point and one I actually researched before making the video, I couldn’t find any evidence from Decent sources to back this up though, I even spoke to several Chinese companies and received decent responses from polite helpful people. If you have links I would love to see them as the supply chains over there are something I am interested in.
