Holy shit, I never thought I’d ever hear someone mention my former automotive shop teacher me cumbie on UA-cam. This man was the greatest teacher I ever had in high school. Taught me a hell of a lot and gave plenty of stories of him when he was a kid growing up in southern Georgia.

Good idea with the caster but you put another drawer slide down there but put it reverse of the top. It will make it soft open and close. Also putting it reversed, you would not trip over it while the door is open. Great job, love the build

@DIWD reverse mount a drawer slide on the bottom of the door. When the door is open, the bottom drawer slide is 'closed'. When the door is closed, the bottom slide is 'open'. Just opposite of the top slide. That way you'll have full door support AND soft open/close.

The thing you dug your knee into is a two-way radio antenna. There is 3 parts to it, the whip, the insulator and the collar. You can unscrew the collar with a 1” box wrench and then remove the nmo connector on the underside with a 15/16” box wrench. Only problem after that is you’re left with either a 3/4” or 3/8” hole depending upon what the shop originally put in there. There should also be a run of coax connected to the nmo connector.

I'd strongly recommend using hardware made for boats for the rest of the build if the budget allows for it, the stuff is just built 10 times better than anything you can find at a hardware store. Jump on a boat sometime and feel around on the hinges, door latches, storage compartments, etc. and you will feel the quality of all the hardware used on them. Sure it might cost you $500 more but it will last forever and never have a single hiccup, squeak, rattle, or loose fitting.

Really loving the regular uploads, highlight of my week to be honest.
I suppose you realize by now, that a single bead of glue down the center of the door frame boards will do perfectly fine, and be just as strong after clamping and screwing. Also, I would add a small strip to the floor, alongside the support wheel, to keep the door from swinging out of alignment to the track.

Dan. I’m an rv technician. You should lay self leveling die core over top of the fans you installed. It covers all the little pin holes that will cause issue over time with leaks and stuff like so.
Lay that self leveling die core over the screws and the trim of the fan. It sinks in and seals great

You could put another soft close slider on the bottom but have it go the other way to stay out of the way when open and to soft open
FYI the thing that you almost sat on that was on top of the ambulance that’s the antennas for their communications meaning thier radios and stuff.

That little thing on the roof you’re wondering what it is. It’s the base of an antenna for a two way radio. The metal portion of the antenna is broke off. We use them on our school busses in north Georgia. The drivers brake them all the damn time. Luckily they are easy as shit to replace.
I take back the broken part. It doesn’t look broken it looks to be a short antenna for a two way radio.

DAN! Not tryna tell you how to build shit, but I think it'd be a better solution for the sagging door to put another slider hinge thing on the bottom of the door BUT opposite, so that when the top hinge is open, the bottom one would be closed. That way you also dont have to worry about stuff going under the little wheel and getting it stuck!
