My wife and I stayed in Domremy for 2 nights a year after this video was made. We went to the Basilica built in her honor, about 1.6 kilometers south at the location where Jeanne and the other children played beneath the Fairy Tree. The important town of Vaucouleurs is north of here, a short drive's distance. It's there that she truly embarked upon her destiny to save France from the English. More importantly, her mission was also to leave the story of her life as a great marker for all eternity that she did indeed have a divine mandate from God, one written down in pages upon pages in her two trials. She is a living Saint still at work in the lives of countless people from all over the world.
I stayed in a B&B named "le Clois" I was going to camp for a while but the weather put a stop to that. I stayed for the only two nights available so I took myself off to Chinon after that.
@@brahilly I have been to Chinon many times over the years but when I visited the chateau the last time it was no longer all Joan of Arc but king Arthur & the knights. It seems to me some people forget their true hero's for myths. It's a sign of the times I suppose.
Well, we'll have to do something about that. The anniversary of Jeanne's victory at Orleans is coming up in 2029. I know that ten years is a long ways away, but time moves quickly. The French should look to this period as a chance for them to re-establish Jeanne where she belongs as the True face of the nation, as a model for piety, charity, courage, self sacrifice and correctness of Faith.
Save up your pennies and go. Make sure to also go to Rouen where Joan was tried. There's an amazing new Museum at the Cathedral called "Historial" where you can watch a modern presentation of the life of this most famous French Saint. The city is also a marvelous example of medieval architecture and full of wonderful things to see and do.
The valley of the Muse is a very relaxed and beautiful place to visit, either on your own, or with family. Accommodation is very reasonable. If your interest is focused on Joan d'Arc, there are several places to visit: her home and her church, the town of Vaucouleurs where she began her quest to save her people and the kingdom, the town of Neufchateau where the people in her village took refuge when English arrived to burn it down, the Hermitage of Bermont where Jeanne went every Saturday to pray to Our Lady and to the Basilica (erected in her honor) just south of Domremy. Bon voyage!
The house has been heavily modified over time. The part to the right, as you walk in, is a later addition. If the French government wasn't so queasy about getting involved in the maintenance of "Johannique" sites, they could invest more in the restoration and promotion of Joan's home and the other places associated with her quest.
I don't know for sure, but I think her father was a farmer. But I think she was not as poor as most people think she is. She may have been like more of a middle class? Idk, I think her father owned land.
MY LIFE WAS ALL ABOUT PLEASING MY GOD. HE IS THE UTMOST PILLAR OF MY JOY, MY SALVATION AND MY LIFE. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED FRANCE. IT IS WHERE I LEFT MY HEART. THIS I REMEMBER AS IF IT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY IT ALL TOOK PLACE. ONE DAY I WILL RETURN AND CLAIM MY PLACE AGAIN, WITH THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. GLORY TO GOD!!
In your face, Cauchon! If you thought you could destroy Joan with a heresy charge, you were very much mistaken. Bet you're rolling in your grave at her being a saint and national heroine, and serve you right!
The way he's capturing the video is very creepy plus he is not speaking! Respected Sir, I would suggest you to speak in your next videos and Thank you very much for this video😊😊.
She was an amazing woman
god bless her sacred name!

So it appears that you were following the route Joan took. How did it go?

I can't fault him on this. Perhaps he wasn't that knowledgeable about the house and its history. Letting us see what he saw without commentary is OK.
Not his fault, the William Shatner mask is had to breath in.
Great video. Thank you for not speaking
All I hear is breathing like Darth Vader
