I had the 1982 model back in the late 80s, such a lovely bike, not exactly over endowed with power, but a very comfortable smooth machine, i loved it and my neighbours here in NZ passed very nice comments about it. I sold it and bought an 86 750 F2 full fairing, actually i owned two of the F2s at different times and i would describe them as the best bike i have ever ridden, for power and performance during my long life, i'm 80 now and they are just a distant and pleasant memory, never forgot a thing, and could still throw a leg over and ride any bike. Bob. Lower Hutt. New Zealand. Feb. 2021.
I had one just like this back in 1983, my wife & I still rate it as our all time favourite, & Ive had quite a few different bikes over the last 40 odd years; thanks for the memories 😁
I had a CX 500 Euro ,Same design as the Turbo with a small fairing. But i like the design more today on this first model as much as the Euro. Looks like a real motorbike.
Seeing this took me back to the 1980's when almost every professional motorbike courier in Sydney rode one of these. I saw so many high mileage (100k + mile) models that sounded like they'd just rolled off the showroom floor! The funny thing was I rode a Kawasaki Z-1300 EFI 6 cylinder (shaft drive)!! Mine had absolutely zero issues in city traffic as did the CX500's with their shaft drives also.
Ah, memories! Had one in the early 80's - AYJ614T. My first 'big' bike, bought it at about 17k, did 40k, never missed a beat. Rode it like any other 20 year old - flat out everywhere! So many good times on it - summer evening thrashes, weekends at Cadwell and Snetterton. Never really understood why Honda ditched this configuration after the 650 - just another victim of 'progress' I suppose.
I had a 1983 model, same colour. 50hp, costed 4199 DM. Absolutely no problem. A new tyre every 7000km, ( Metzler ME77, perfect for this bike ) and always good oil. Drove to Greece, Italy, Jugoslavia and dozens of countries. Drove home from Ancona to Heidelberg in the poring rain within 14 hours. I was such an Idiot to sell it after 1 year with 37000km ( ! ). Met the guy who bought it. The bike had 220000km with minor repairs and still going 190km/h
Nice looking example. Unusual design, the engine formed part of the structure, no down tube on the frame. I rode one back in the day. I remember it being smooth, very comfortable, decent performance but also pretty damn heavy for a 500.
Wonderful collection of great (looking) bikes!! Is this a shop? Is it someone's personal collection? A museum of some sort? Whatever it is, it's a really great collection and it's a treat to see them. Thank you for this trip to my personal memorylane. My first motorcycle was a Honda CX500, blue with a white Rickman Polaris fairing. Unfortunately it wasn't for long; I totalled it after nine months when I smashed against the pavement after colliding with a streetcrossing cat. That was the end of my precious CX. My next bike was a blue Honda GL1100 Gold Wing with a Vetter Windjammer fairing. Beautiful bike, I kept it for more than 15 years. I loved looking at this video; know what, I'm going to watch it again!! Keep up the good work!
I heard it referred to as 'the poor man's BMW'. Actually, that meant it was very like a BMW, the only significant difference being that it cost rather less. Really enjoyed riding it. Plus, I'm glad I've spent all my money because otherwise I would pay a lot for at least four of the other bikes in that showroom as well.
What I did not like about the CX was that Aweful plastic "Nacelle" over the headlight and instruments complete with that silly little fly screen up front. The De-luxe version looked a lot nicer, but was not imported to us in the UK.
Watching the videos than you usually put on You Tube I have a sensation I remember had when travelled to Egypt years ago. I mean... How is it possible? Where do you find this completely new stock? Have you got any hidden place where you manufacture these motorbikes? I hate you... but please continue doing your lovely job.

Most comfortable bike I had been on.
Wonderful! I owned the same model out of 1979 in red color 😍

Despatch riders favourite in London late 80s/early 90s.

The plastic pig. ..best dispatch bike in London in the 80s ,we all had them
Engine idle seems a bit lumpy... I don't remember mine sounding like this... but to be fair was a long time ago.... Had the comfiest of saddles.
I own 2 of these Bikes!!! A 1978 & a 1981!!!!
Esa moto es mi sueño desde la juventud, cada vez más escasas

☺👍✌☺
I'm interested, what's the asking price, if still available?
Is it still available? I'll gladly make an offer.
Modern bikes just dont do it for me like the bikes from 77 to 83
