  • Our tour guide for the towns of Akatakyi and Princess Town is/was Mr. Samuel Duku. Should you wish to get in touch with him to arrange future tour trips, he is reachable on +233 24 634 0951.
Akatakyi, is one of the towns that surprised us all. The Town is quite small, with a population of less than 2000 people, and it's situated right at the lowest point of Ghana. The Town is located in the Western Region of Ghana, where one of the Ahanta languages of Nzema is mainly spoken. Besides Nzema, Akan (Asante/Fante) is the second universal language spoken in the Town. Let's not forget English is the official language of Ghana.
We learned that the Fetish Priest has a shrine where the priest has the power, the respect and the fortitude to command the Crocodiles to come forward from the river to feed. Quite extraordinary 👍🏿🇬🇭
While some of us were quite scared to be in the vicinity of the crocodiles, it was interesting to witness the fetish priest ordering a crocodile in a strong baritone voice to lie down, just as a pet owner would instruct his dog. Wow 😱
It had to have taken this long for us to realise how beautiful Ghana 🇬🇭 is. It took us or some of us this long to also come to the realisation, apart from the country's resources, Ghana is packed with lots of other hidden gems, which exudes a lot of historical knowledge worth investing in, for ones self improvement.
Our tour guide Mr. Samual Duku was rather nice, he always provided an articulable oration of the Town's Historical/Mythical story/stories when explaining the customs and cultures of the region, and the town. We are grateful to have met him, and look forward to more such meetings for the future.
Ensure you have hats, and a good sunscreen, especially when you are not used to the direct sun rays. The sun rays can be unforgiven.
Do enjoy your stay in Ghana. Would encourage you try and venture out to other parts of the country when you can.
This clip contains scenes of crocodiles feeding, thus parental guidance is suggested when viewing with children.
    Thanks for watching.
