45 years ago today we lost Elvis, and his music is still touching people! What a legacy he left us all. "American Trilogy" is a MUST reaction, please 🙏
Yes, huge request for American Trilogy. I think you’ll both love it. ❤️ Live from Hawaii if possible.
Elvis was a showman, the people that promote showmen are snowmen, and all the rest are rubes.
Point is, people are capable of SOOO much more, including singing just as good if not better than Elvis. But most never even try.
My Mom cried all day and for a long time after. Elvis was such a big presence in our home.
RIP Elvis. I still remember exactly where I was when heard it on the radio.
"American Trilogy" is a masterpiece. Still gives me goosebumps after all these years.
I love Elvis and I will never forget what I was doing the day he died. He died about two weeks before my birthday.
My mom said Elvis was such an exciting thing for them when they first saw him. Before Elvis, they had people like Frank Sinatra who just snapped his fingers in time to the music. Elvis was a whole new ballgame and so exciting for the teens to watch.
This is my favorite Era of Elvis....HunkaHunka Burning love.
Dana says- My best friend's grandfather was a family court judge in Jacksonville, FL. Elvis came to town to do a concert and Judge Gooding was so concerned that he would shake his hips and negatively influence the youth that he sent for Elvis to appear before him in his chambers. He told Elvis that he was posting a couple of cops backstage and if he moved his hips at all, they'd arrest him. That night Elvis didn't move his hips, but he DID dedicate "Hound Dog" to Judge Gooding.
Elvis came around right on time to be the biggest thing the world had ever seen . We will not see another in our lifetimes . sadly
*You all are too young to remember Ed Sullivan, but at one time his Sunday night show was THE show to watch. Sullivan hated rock and roll--but when Elvis could not be ignored, he had him on his show, and was compelled to assure the worried parents of America that Elvis was "a fine young man." This stamp of approval made Elvis respectable in the eyes of the older generation.*
You MUST react to Elvis's 68 comeback special!! If you want to see Elvis live!! Any Elvis fan will tell you the black suited Elvis was the GOAT! One night with you, trying to get to you, Lawdy miss Clawdy, the WHOLE set was 🔥!!! I am on my KNEES! PLEASE do it!!😃
YES!!
Yes please!
Best show and you really see his sense of humor
Agree but If I Can Dream in the white suit at the end is my favorite
@@kathyh628 I think they may have reacted to that one.
Elvis is the obly one who can say "im a hunk hunk burning love" without sounding cocky or corny. hes justbthat good 😊
He is the King of Rock n' Roll! I was 9 years old in 1977 when he died at 42 years old. It was shocking.
The Aloha Hawaii live performance of this song is not only great but rare.... oh... & he looks GORGEOUS!!!!!!!
My Dad recently passed and my mom and sister were picking out songs to play at his memorial. My sister played a couple of songs and my mom said, "Your father didn't like all that brassy sax stuff." My sister replied, "Mom, just because you only listened to Elvis didn't mean Dad did too." I choked on my chewing gum.
I think Elvis was overwhelmed by his early fame. He was in fact, a very humble and spiritual man who was so generous in real life that he gave away almost a hundred Cadillacs during his lifetime. He was especially kind to any service staff and, watching him in interviews, he speaks in almost a shy tone. Think about what it must have been like from his perspective as a man fresh out of his teens, who was instantly the most famous celebrity in the world. I don't see how anyone could have prepared themselves for that much fame, that fast. Most people think that his first tv appearance was on the Ed Sullivan in '56, but I remember seeing him on the Louisiana Hayride in '55, before he was widely known. Memories!
Prior to Elvis' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, Mr. Sullivan said "that obscene boy will never appear on his show." You might recall that when The Doors were going to appear on the show, Jim Morrison was told not to sing the word "Higher" in Light My Fire. Then he went out and sang it anyway. After the show, Sullivan told him that he would never do the Ed Sullivan Show again. Morrison replied with "We just did the Ed Sullivan Show!"
Hard to believe this song was written by the same guy who later did "John Deere Green" and "Queen of my Double-Wide Trailer".
Elvis wasn't one of the all time greats. He was the greatest entertainer/Singer ever. Please react to Elvis song Don't cry Daddy.
On the anniversary of his passing today 45 years ago. Longer than he lived his life. Incredible to think all that in 42 years. Amazing. Rest in Peace 💜💜💜💜💜💜✌
Rip Elvis🙏Such a sad day😢
He was older than 42 when he died.
@@michaelasay8587 yes 42. Born 1935 died 1977. If you can do simple math and change history then go ahead 🙄
Elvis 68 Can't Help Falling in Love with you your daughter could watch. He walks around the center stage singing to the ladies in the audience being a proper Southern Gentleman.
Long Live the King!! Elvis 45
He is the handsome boy! Oh my goodness. You need to see his 1968 comeback special “Trying to Get to You” with your daughter. She will say it again “That handsome boy.” He’s dressed in black leather!! Thanks for remembering this giant who changed music forever!
Before Elvis there was a long run of guys that stood still and sang or were behind a piano. He was dancing. Shocked the country. Just a sign of how music was changing.
He wasn't called "Elvis The Pelvis" for nothin'!!! He maintained that he had to move with the music. TV censorship was so restricting at the time in the 50s
BURNING LOVE was the authentic last of Elvis as a hitmaker. He would on to do concert in Hawaii to be broadcast around the world and then he would begin his I inevitable slow decline. His marriage to Priscilla was over. His dependence on drugs would escalate. He would suffer from depression about turning 4o. He would gain weight. Col. Tom Parker and Barbra Streisand were not able to agree to terms for A Star is Born, which would make Kris Kristofferson a m9vie star. Ironically, the movie was about one falling star as one is rising. Elvis is reported to have been very interested in the part.
I remember watching Elvis on television in one of his last concert appearances. He was tired, bloated, and struggling to give his fans what they wanted. And mostly he did. His voice still had some magic left. But it was clear the end was near. My mother loved Elvis. I loved him too. They shared the same birthday. His gospel recordings were her favorite. She thought he was purty. She was one of the teenagers that saw him from the beginning. I loved him too. And the way he would make my mother feel when she listened to him sing. And smile it brought to face just to see him. The sight of him during that last concert broke her heart. It was awful when he died. But his music, magic, and memory live on. And 45 years after his passing, he is still loved and remembered. Which says alot about how much he touched our lives. And how much we loved him. R.I.P. Elvis. There will never be another like you.
Why, why, why would you NOT watch a live version of this man???? I got excited but then saw it wasn't a live version so I didn't watch. There are singers that you should always watch live. ELVIS is at the top of that list!!
Burnin' Love was Elvis' last top 5 Single on the Billboard charts, topping out at #2 in 1972. This is well into the Las Vegas period. Elvis' lat number 1 single was Suspicious Minds from 1969, which hit just after In The Ghetto went to #3 earlier in the year.
Way Down was the last single by Elvis in 1977, reaching #18 in the US and #1 in the UK.
"Hunka, Hunka" is Elvis' signature word and every Elvis impersonator must at least come close to that sound if they want to succeed as his impersonator.
I remember my mom crying when Elvis died. He was her favorite!
I was 13 when he died. I was at my grandma's house when I heard it. I cried. I loved him.
"If I Can Dream" is the best song and is a tribute to MLK and you have to watch him sing it with the true passion and genuine feelings he has about the song. And you will truly get Goose bumps!!!! I think having a 5y/o that likes Elvis is amazing!!!!
The King. Period.
TCB
Another Elvis song is (You we’re always on my mind ) ❤
The saddest song you'll ever hear... Elvis, Softly As I Leave You. ❤️
Thank u guys for honoring Elvis yesterday marks 45 years sense we lost the king of Rock n roll Elvis Presley
Actually, Elvis died on August 16, 1977, 45 years ago today. 😊
@@steveandtammyb yup he did
Written just for Elvis. In Aloha Elvis did his own reverb to this song. Elvis could sing the phone book and people would listen. On UA-cam Elvis was asking what the audience wanted to hear him sing and you can here one man say, “Anything”.! He was THAT good!
And Elvis is the only one to have people lined up from the funeral all the way to his burial place in graceland and the people were lined up on both sides of the road
My favorite song from Elvis Presley.
I remember my mother crying that morning he passed. The world stopped for a time.
Elvis always best watching on stage
Elvis. The King. I learned about the phenomenon we call rock and roll by listening to my mom’s Elvis Presley records. You would NOT be disappointed if you were to listen to “The Promised Land”. It simply rocks.
this is a message for all you Elvis fans that comment "his" songs.
They are not, "his" songs.
They are songs he sang that others others wrote.
Since Elvis never wrote a song, it cannot and never will be "his" songs.
They are songs he sang.
To deprive the writer acknowledgement of the any song that Elvis just sang is an insult to the writer of the song.
You wouldn't like it if you invented something and someone else got all the credit, would you?
This is the Elvis song I immediately think of because it was a hit was a little boy.👍
YOU HAVE TO WATCH ELVIS LIVE IN CONCERT.. IT DOESNT COME CLOSE
Believe it or not, one of elvis's first big hits is "You ain't nothing but a hound dog".
The king
Burning Love was one of his last songs. But for this song, it felt like his youth.
In 1955 my great grandparents sat a few rows behind Gladys and Vernon Presley at The Greater Gulf State Fair and saw a legend in the making. Twenty years later my mom saw him in concert at The Mobile Civic Center. On Sunday August 17,1977 I went outside to get the paper,a huge headline read, The King is Dead, I knew exactly what it meant before opening up the paper. My first thought was of Lisa Marie who about the same age,I felt sad for her ,because she and I both lost our dads. RIP
For your daughter, the Elvis song Your Time Hasn't Come Yet Baby would be perfect
Elvis was just so cool. He is The King. Return to Sender. Ya, they called him Elvis The Pelvis.
this is my favorite Elvis song!
I'm old enough to have a memory from the day Elvis died. My sister had just been born July 31 and I was 5 years old. We were at a family friend's house and my mom and her friend were sitting in the living room both nursing babies and crying because Elvis had died.
I remember the day he died. I was 7 yrs old. I was huge fan even back then!
Contrary to popular belief, Elvis was filmed from the waist up only once. He was on four different TV shows for a total of eleven appearances in 1956. The only waist-up filming was done during his third appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in January of 1957.
Elvis The Pelvis! They thought his hip movements were obscene. The new Elvis movie is terrific
He was a King!!!!... He even died on the toilet aka The Throne!!!!
You have to watch Elvis it's not the same to just listen.
His voice was so powerful and full without any kind of auto tune or digital help of any kind. Thats why he is the King.
And always will be!
1972, I played this record over and over again, on a record player, KING ELVIS.
The king had lots of hits throughout his entire career thanks guys
Elvis Presley was a great human being as well.
my fav. Elvis song
This was one of his few hits in the 70’s. What a great one it was.
This song and Suspicious Minds are my two favorite songs from the King.
Burning Love best song ever you need to watch this live Aloha from Hawaii
August 16th, 1977 The day the World stood still. I was 13 and was watching TV when the news broken in and announced he had died. My brother is a big Elvis fan, he seen him 9 times. He was in our town that June, we moved back from Tennessee that July. My brother said the next time he comes to town I’ll take you to see him. He died the next month. 😢
I agree with your daughter. I always have said he was the best looking man to ever walk the Earth. Imo. 🥰
70s Elvis at its best. I remember exactly where I was when I heard the King had died.
"Kentucky Rain "is a great song! The story of a man searching for his love! Another Ms. boy done good!! Thank ya'll
Written by the late, great Eddie Rabbitt
@@grege9019 yes !
Absolutely! This song is the best IMO!
Love Kentucky Rain and also Don’t cry daddy
My two favorite Elvis songs are Kentucky Rain and the tearjerker "Old Shep".
Someone once asked Elvis what it was like to have the best voice in rock and roll. Elvis replied "You'll have to ask Roy Orbison" What a class act. Miss you king.
He sang this when he was older. It was one of his Vegas staples.
I Miss his music and this GREAT artist!
Did I hear Amber ask for fun Elvis songs for their little girl? I think "Teddy Bear", "Wooden Heart" and "I Got Lucky" would be great Elvis introductions for young ones.
No one in the entire Universe can sing like Elvis Presley. Elvis will always be the King! 🎸🎤
For me Burning Love is one of Elvis Top 10 song. 💯👍
He would not agree with you ,, Elvis once was told by a man in an interview that he was the King And Elvis told the man No JESUS CHRIST is the KING .... I LOVE IT
Still always be the best. My favorite artist of all time. There are no bad songs in his catalog. We lost an icon 45 years ago. Thank you for appreciating and honoring a true talent. Your next song should be the song thst started it all. Thats All Right Mama
Amber needs to watch something from the 68 comeback special. Your welcome in advance. Lol trying to get to you 68 comeback special is the black leather Elvis
I don't really remember him, but he was still performing when I was very young. I grew up with him and his music and his legend. He'll always be amazing
Rest In Peace Arron Elvis Presley you were gone before my time but I will always love your music
Suspicious minds and in the ghetto are my all time Elvis favourites.
The new Elvis movie is AWESOME!!! You really need to see it in the theater.
I watched him perform this live in Las Vegas he was amazing
It's hard to believe that he has been dead longer than he was alive. I was 12 when he died and I remembered how the world seemed to stop turning. I didn't understand it back then.
I was only 9 years old but I remember exactly where I was when I was told that Elvis had died. I ran into the house and told my parents, they didn't believe me, then the announcement came on tv.
Love my Elvis and he has so many great songs. Rest in peace
I know exactly where I was when hearing the news that he passed away. Nice you've done a tribute.
Yeah, the memory is so vivid. Like yesterday. I was in a campground in Yellowstone National Park, 11 years old, enjoying a great summer vacation with my family when my parents broke the news to me and my older brother. Crazy how you can still feel the shock so many years/decades later. RIP King!
If you want to completely melt, you must do Can’t help falling in love. It’s absolutely beautiful. His voice is perfect.
"Can't Help Fallin' in Love with You" is sensitive Elvis at his best. It's been played at countless wedding receptions for decades because it's the ultimate slow-dancing song. Rockin' Elvis can be heard with "Bossa Nova Baby" and so many others.
Adapted from the classic 16th century French song, "Plaisir d'amour" by Martins One of many songs Elvis sang based on older tunes.
Watch the video it's about him not yall
Can’t Help Falling in Love With You from the movie “Blue Hawaii” ua-cam.com/video/DJwjfsHDVpk/v-deo.html
BURNING LOVE was a smash hit in 1972 , Rock on Elvis in the 70s
Wedding receptions and it also was a staple slow dance last song at about a million proms.
Kathie says…I naturally love anything ever sang…but Elvis in 1956 and 1957 FOR ME…is his raw BEST. Please play PARALYZED.
Elvis is Superman.
The kids will
Way Down is another late era Elvis song that is pretty suggestive.
You need to watch the Live versions of these songs to get how great of an entertainer he was. It’s just not the same! There is a reason 30,000 people were at Graceland yesterday for the 45th Anniversary of his death! You need to see the Elvis movie and then you will truly understand why he is loved this much.
You guys want to see a good movie that's worth setting in watching and that's this new Elvis movie I'm telling you what this young guy portrays Elvis Presley like no other one has that in my opinion and I'm 55 years old
Gotta watch him live!! Thank you for reacting to Elvis as it's the Anniversary of his death today. RIP sweet soul TCB ⚡👑🔥😭❤
I saw this live in 72 I was a kid 8 years but it’s is embedded in my memory forever. My first boyfriend 🤣 and there he was beautiful and singing to me omg that Aloha concert in Hawaii was the best thing I ever saw in my life! No one has ever topped that concert no one!
My uncle was in the army with Elvis, he really was a great and generous man.
We never doubted it. He wasn't perfect, but he was damn close and he hit the mark with voice and looks.
I was in the Army with Elvis' 1st cousin's son, back in the '80's so he'd be Elvis' 1st cousin, 1 generation removed. He was from Mississippi and sounded exactly like Huckleberry Hound.
and the army is where he found his love for drugs.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 NOT SO BOZO
@@elevenbucks5682 oh really?
During this time, a fellow sergeant introduced Elvis to amphetamines, which he began taking almost daily. He also gave them to his young girlfriend and fellow service members, according to “Careless Love: The Unmaking of Elvis Presley” by Peter Guralnick.
now go back to your inflatable girlfriend, BOZO!
Amber would probably get emotional if y'all did "Don't Cry Daddy". Such a powerful song!!!!!!! Love your reactions! Have a great day!!
The Elvis movie is a must see!
My mom fell in love with Elvis that day!!!!
Shame you didn't have video, Elvis had a brilliant voice and stage presence he wasn't called the King for nothing 👑
And he did not like being called that,, He once told a man in an interview that Jesus Christ is KING ,,,, I love it
Ed Sullivan, the host and producer of the Ed Sullivan Show was the sole decider to not show Elvis below the hips. Elvis had already appeared on other variety shows, which had no such bans, and had just finished filming his 1st movie. He was already a superstar, but Sullivan didn't like him, thought he wasn't talented and that he was too vulgar. And he didn't mince his words saying so. The only reason Elvis was finally invited to be on the show was Sullivan's main variety show competitors, “The Steve Allen Show,” “Stage Show” and “The Milton Berle Show,” were all whuppin' his butt in the ratings when they had Elvis on and, since Sullivan had the the best prime time (Sunday nights) for any variety tv show ever, his was always the top rated. Except for his kerfuffle about Elvis, Sullivan did usually have a superior talent for finding new talent and probably helped launch more careers than anyone. At least, when any artist was invited to appear on the Ed Sullivan, they were pretty sure they were headed for the big time.
An added note, Elvis first movie, "Love Me Tender", was released less than 2 months after the Sullivan appearance.
Love hearing and watching elvis.
but what are you watching?
He did this song at the live satellite concert in Hawaii in 1973 which was broadcast around the world and seen by over a billion people... I watched it live....best concert ever... The song is available on UA-cam in the live version, that is if it isn't blocked... Great reaction, guys...
ROB SQUAD This song came out in 1972 ,,,, I some one called ELVIS the KING In An interview once And Elvis told him no Jesus Christ is THE KING .. I Love it
I remember watching it. In 1973....Omg, phenomenal!! 🙂
It was a television event. My mom was a huge fan and we watched the concert and had the double album. He was so good live.
Yesssssss!! That was the best live concert of Elvis ever! And in the Islands no less, it was awesome!!! Luved it! 😎
I watched the while concert online. I just wish the songs weren't so short. But, it was the times and radio 📻 rules
