hello sir, the lecture was great and very helpful ..in the 1st numerical where we tried to find the latent heat, i think we should multiply mass=0.4 instead of mass=0.8, as it was mentioned that only half of the vapour was condensed... please correct me if i misunderstood..
See when I am multiplying enthalpy change i am already taking dryness fraction into account while solving enthalpy so multiplying with 0.8 mass is correct. If you multiply the saturated vapour enthalpy and saturated liquid enthalpy difference then you will have to take 0.4
Sir aapne dosa making ka example diya tha wha pr bhi to latent heat zero maan skte h bt pressure to atmospheric hi hota...but temp is too high ki suddenly liquid turns into vapour to kya ye sb mass pr bhi depend krta h...pls rply sir thanks 🙏
There the reason for sudden change is not that the latent heat is zero. There latent heat has significant value but since the mass is very less hence latent heat into mass , I.e. the energy required for phase is less. Therefor it takes very less time for this phase change to take place
Respected sir at 58:00 minutes you said that at low pressure I can change the phase at low temperatures for example I want to boil water at 25 degree celsius so pressure should be reduced and make vaccum.... But prior to that in this video you said at mountain to boil patato takes more time than usual. Can you explain sir.
See at mountains since the pressure is low, the water will boil at lower temperature. So the water will start boiling quickly, but the time the potatoes will take to process will depend on at what temperature they are kept. At lower temperature their chemical processes are slower hence they have to be kept longer at lower temperature to achieve the desired result. So the overall time will increase at lower pressure
Dear, i will strongly suggest please make your own notes. Self made notes immensely help in learning, PDFs for question is fine but PDFs of theory portion are not good for learning
Anjani: in the superheated region you can apply if superheated properties are not given, but it is not that you should always apply. In case of steam you should be careful if the data is given for superheat then you should never calculate yourself by applying pV=mRT

@@IdkIdk-gw3qo best book for theory is by "cengel and boles"
For questions "p.k.nag" is good

sir should we need to study thermostatics also?
Are you asking for gate exam?
Is this a complete lecture on property of pure substance???
This is the TS diagram, there are other diagrams also
Sir, can you provide a short note for this properties of pure substance in pdf format
Dear Candidate,
We have made a note of your suggestion and will forward the same to the concerned team.
