The look on Mads's face as he's pulling out the pumpkin innards had me laughing so much. I remember a video where he was pulling sludge out of the bilge and didn't look nearly as disgusted. Really enjoyed this video!

You guys are adorable. My wife and I live aboard a 63’ vintage wood boat in Seattle that we’re also in the midst of restoring. 3 years in so far. We always look forward to your famous intro/outro and Denmarkian vocabulary and humor. Keep up the great work guys!
Left this running while I went and answered the door to the next batch of Trick or treaters, then Ava went Whooooo, and 3 little six year olds nearly peed themselves! She's a keeper Mads! Their mums went away giggling.
Congrats Mads! So happy to have stumbled across your channel way back in the day! Look forward to each week’s video! Also, so nice seeing you so happy!
Best way to have them is to buy a bag of pumpkin seeds from Costco, and brown them in a cast iron skillet in olive oil and lots of salt. Then sit down with a small bowl and watch Netflix movies. Best dang way to spend a cold fall evening.
Like others have mentioned, if you still have the seeds roasting them is a special Fall treat ;-)! We always get extra pumpkins just for the seeds lol! Congrats and enjoy your time in CA!!

I look forward to your videos every week. Most of the time they inspire me to go and build or fix and create something. Thanks for the inspiration. And you two are adorable together.
Halloween isn’t done until you eat your own roasted pumpkin seeds. I was expecting to see Mads pouring epoxy into the jackolantern to make a glorious mold of his logo somehow. Oh glorious epoxy fun fun.
I love that Ava was done before you started cutting. All that prep work has its costs... Makes me feel good about taking long to do everythingthing on my boat ...
At 3:02 listen carefully and close your eyes. You have been instantly transported to an Iowa Hog farm...because that is the sound they make. hahahaha Happy Halloween

You guys are too funny! Mads, I can’t believe that is your first pumpkin that you carved. I do the same thing with the outline, just not as precise. Nice job and congrants on the milestone!
Call me boring, or just grown up, but I lost interest in stickers when I was about seven years old. So I hope this comment has excluded me from being part of your generous celebratory give away, good luck to everyone else though. I do however have to ask myself why a middle aged man would watch videos of someone else sanding their old boat. You Mads have a unique, eccentric, precise, tireless and entertainingly professional standard to your videos and a relentlessly thorough approach to boat renovation - that is why you have such a huge following. When the boat is finally done you will have taken a huge number of people on a journey. I hope people will be just as interested in the journey the boat takes you on. I wish you both all the best.
Mads, I loved the Sail Life Pumpkin. You did a great job and scraping out the inside was the right thing to do. Congratulations on reaching such an impressive milestone. I have been watching for years and you have developed your channel beyond my wildest imagination. Keep up the great work and I have learned so much from watching you. You are a real inspiration to DIY people and projects! Happy Halloween.
Sitting on our sailboat on the way to the Bahama's. Thank you for all your efforts and the inspiration you have provided your viewers. Congratulations on hitting 50,000 viewers.
Thanks Mads and Ava, that was very cute. I've watched all your videos in preparation of getting my own boat. You have done a tremendous job on doing your work and videos. I look forward to watching you for years to come. Thanks again Carol Preston
Hi Mads, glad to see you guys are having a good time on a much smaller project. And in my neck of the woods. We met at the brewery on your last visit. I’m the one from Seal Beach.
Oh my god that was the best! I love to see both of you’re goofy nature show through and Mads particular nature on getting the letters poked out perfectly!
Looks like you guys have found true happiness in each other!!Congrats to you both and I am super stoked for yah Mads it couldn't have happened to a better guy:)Thx for all of the hard work and fantastic instructional videos through the years you are an asset to the DIY community of boating enthusiasts!!!!
Just like you channel. I look forward to each episode. They are both informative and entertaining. Thank you for all the effort you have put into them. And you both look very happy.
Mads, great job as usual. You have a skilled hand at whatever task you pick up! Ava tried very hard to get you into the spirit of the day!!! You make a great team!
Thanks for the many many hours of videos Mads. Endless entertainment and I can't wait every week to see the next installment of fixing up Athena. Hope you have a very happy holiday.
A true gentleman Mads. The temptation at 35 sec to give Ava an 'accidental' nudge into the pool while you were saying wooooo must have been high !! Congrats on the multiple milestones. More importantly, enjoy your break.
You guys crack me up. Love the spooky noises :p Happy Halloween, and enjoy the kiddos trick-or-treating in their costumes. Congrats on all the milestones!
Great job on the pumpkin carving. I will have to give you the win over the spooky pumpkin as it is your first time. You guys look like the world is in the palm of your hands. Enjoy your time together.
Great vid! when Ava showed her template stuck on the pumpkin and then you see mad’s perfect work, I said to my wife “that’s why people love watching his videos, he’s so meticulous at everything he does!”
Congrats on 50,000 subs, Mads. Oh,and Happy halloween from a Canuck working in Sudan ( your vids help keep me sane and remind me of all the boat chores waiting for me at home).
Mads, every Sunday evening I sit down and look at your new DIY-video. I do it with greatest happens. I own a very little sailboat but sailing is urgent in my life. Looking at you solving the projects makes me feel good. Happy Halloween!
OMG, I was literally crying from laughing. Ava's oooooooooohs were just cracking me up along with Mads looks at the beginning whenever she did it. Priceless. You two seem so well matched. Have a great Halloween and enjoy the rest of your time with Ava.
I have enjoyed your more serious Athena programs but its good just to have some fun. Is Halloween celebrated in Denmark? If so How do do the "traditions" differ?
Oooo spooky. Or maybe not. You have hit California's best season on the coast. The June gloom is gone but the cold of winter has not yet arrived. This video made me smile. Thanks!
The look on Mads face when he grabbed a hand-full of pumpkin guts was priceless ... what popped into my head was that he'd be asking Ava for nitrile gloves.

Woooo! is right! Loved the difference between the carving techniques. Ava went at it with a practiced hand and Mads went at it with the same precision and detail that he has been using on both Athena and Obelisk. Great job guys. Mads and Ava are a wonderful pair! See you next video. 1150 comments has to be a record.
Your laugh at video time stamp 5:30 is in the true Halloween spirit. You’re a natural. Enjoy. Congratulations on the 50K subscribers. It is deservingly earned. Best wishes.
your boat is becoming amazing. great job. thank you for the hard work your doing and for inspiration towards sailing. can't wait to see your finished boat
Whenever I see CA weather I get a little depressed. Anyway, I am glad you are having fun with Eva and enjoying the CA weather. I am visiting in three weeks and can't wait!
Wow! Up here in Canada we also do pumpkins carving, but there's almost always snow on the ground.. so the kids have to wear parkas over their costumes! Happy Halloween everybody!
Hi mads. I have this vision in my head that you have a pile of dead pumpkins behind you that you throw away every time you make a tiny mistake. Not that you are a perfectionist or anything! Love your vids. Gary UK 🇬🇧
I love how methodical and precise you are about carving a pumpkin your methodical and precise about everything you do I think that's a pretty cool way to live life
Whoooooo……..Keep up the great work. You've come a long ways since "Removing plywood, Albin Ballad". Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Cheers -s/v Wayward
Hey Mads and Ava, Happy first Halloween . Both together and for you Mads in the U.S. Also congrats on the 50,000 subscribers, and remember we are all expecting to get an invite to the wedding! Ha ha ! That's gonna require a heck of a big wedding cake and your gonna need a few more life jackets on Athena. Of course that is if you get her finished in time to have the big event on her. Anyhow I'm just kidding but who knows you guys look like you belong together and maybe just maybe there's wedding bells in the future and even maybe some little miniature Mads Jr.s running around! Oh man I can see the you tube videos now! There will be glorious glorious videos everyday! peace! SKK

More sanding, please. Seriously, Mads, it’s you that made all these videos so much fun and instructive.
50K watching sanding. Now that’s spiffy!
Easier to watch than to do. I've been doing plenty of my own sanding, though.
I was going to comment on the LACK of sanding necessary in this project but you beat me to it!
And they said the internet was for watching porn! Pfft!
@@lukedogwalker 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another belter 🤣🤣

You know what’s scary ? Engineers. You crack me up Mads.
So nice to see a happy couple. Enjoy life and each other.

Happy halloween from fresno california. You are an inspiration to work on my Catalina 25.
Pretty dang spiffy! Its no surprise that Mads is as meticulous with his pumpkin carving as he is with boat work.
At 3:02 listen carefully and close your eyes. You have been instantly transported to an Iowa Hog farm...because that is the sound they make. hahahaha Happy Halloween
Got linked to your channel from other SV Seeker and have fallen in love with your work ethic and video style. Congratulations on all the milestones!

Great vid! when Ava showed her template stuck on the pumpkin and then you see mad’s perfect work, I said to my wife “that’s why people love watching his videos, he’s so meticulous at everything he does!”
Outstanding milestones Mads and Ava! Hope you enjoy your first Halloween!
The good ol' deck scraping came in handy as you delaminated the inside of the pumpkin. Memories of the engine compartment came to mind.
A bonus Sail life DIY Halloween special. Nice job on the spooky effects, Ava!
Happy Halloween!
(Fingers crosses for sail life treats)
Congrats on 50,000 subs, Mads. Oh,and Happy halloween from a Canuck working in Sudan ( your vids help keep me sane and remind me of all the boat chores waiting for me at home).

You two make each other smile, that's a great thing!

Ava is hilarious! Glad to see you two together and having fun.
I have enjoyed your more serious Athena programs but its good just to have some fun. Is Halloween celebrated in Denmark? If so How do do the "traditions" differ?
My wife say how great it is that Mads is always Mads even in carving pumpkins. Woooooo woooooo woooooo. You’re the best.
Oooo spooky. Or maybe not. You have hit California's best season on the coast. The June gloom is gone but the cold of winter has not yet arrived. This video made me smile. Thanks!
He’s smiles just as much as when he’s doing more “glorious “ sanding.
Yea, I'll go with you. I think I would rather smell the epoxy than the pumpkins. But sanding the fiberglass is a lot more spooky.
congrats Mads! Love the spooky 3D sound effects
The look on Mads face when he grabbed a hand-full of pumpkin guts was priceless ... what popped into my head was that he'd be asking Ava for nitrile gloves.

If only you'd had a grinder with a wire wheel to thin out the inside of your pumpkin!
You two are super cute!
I have been watching your videos for a while and you have helped me out with my sailboat refit many times. Thanks
Congratulations are truly in order. Not for 50,000 in subscribers but for finding the love of your life Ava.
