Replay of France's Loan Drouard at TWG2022. Here is his excellent 4th place daoshu (broadsword). He placed 3rd overall in combined daoshu and gunshu

i just don't get it why they just don't use a Fake swort but at list wood Sword not that don't bend with if you use it

Weight distribution, perception by the crowd, sound, wrist mobility, haptic feedback from the weapon are all reasons why those swords are flexible. It's not that they can't handle solid weapons, but for the purposes of modern wushu that is what we use and train with.

I started practicing Silat and Escrima in 1993. In 2008 I began Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi. I like to practice double Taiji Sword using 3 foot red oak sticks. They crush bone.
I am old school enough old enough now where I focus more on my health.

Better weight distribution, better to make sounds and express their movements. + it can’t be so heavier and have a blade because it can cause serious injuries to the athlete
